It started out “the new management company didn’t have interest” then quickly turned to “maybe they don’t have the staff”. You could tell they were annoyed with the situation which leads me to believe they were trying to get the ball rolling and Vail was just being Vail. anyway, they mentioned montage as a possible new spot for it next year. I’m not too familiar with montage but seems like it may be a better option than JFBB as far as entertainment purposes go.

Apparently they had issues last year and the year before with guests meandering about the snow well before the lifts open while they’re trying to return with the cats/ski patrol using the snowmobiles to move fencing etc etc up to the top of the mountain. I hear that from a friend who patrolled there up until this year, so take it for what it’s worth, but it would make sense.

I’d be willing to bet the recent snow(s) had more to due with the crowds today than epic passes.

Yes, vicariously through the trip reports on here. I probably won’t get the chance to ski until mid January, things have been crazy in the insurance world recently and don’t seem to be getting any better. I had 2 days off the entire month of December, at least I’m not leaving money on the table
