I say we cover lazy mile in ice and turn it into an ice skating derby similar to red bull’s crashed ice events
-
If I had to guess based off of my knowledge of what it costs to keep ice at an indoor rink, I’d say around $5k-10k a month weather dependent. The average indoor rink costs around $40k a month to keep the ice, but that factors in dehumidifiers, constant cooling, etc etc. obviously the colder it is, the less the system would run/need to run. The cost of water would factor into that a lot as well since it needs to go through a softening system and zambonis use around 150 gallons to resurface a regulation size rink.

So would anything else they would plan to put in
-
Ice skating/outdoor hockey rink is probably the most feasible thing they could do in a short period of time and would likely get a good amount of use out of it. Zamboni can be had for $10k or so.

Had a quick burst of flurries this morning in kennett.

Are they still rehabbing the chinooks down there? Edit: I may be thinking of a different complex than the one you’re at

You may be right. I was at a flyers game a few years ago and there was a concert at the linc at 8 that same night. Parking cost $40 regardless of what event you were going to as linc events charge $40 to park. They didn’t seem to have “specific” parking lots for flyers fans or concert goers. I’d imagine they’d do it different for the eagles though.

Price of flyers tickets already dropped $3, insignificant price drop but the amount of available tickets increased by 200 from this morning. not sure what it would do for the eagles tickets, they seem to sell well regardless. Might see a little dip in price.

It happened last year. But before the season the nfl took a hard stance that if your team was unable to play a game due to a Covid outbreak that originated with a non vaxxed player, you would forfeit. Washington has an outbreak that started with a non vaxxed player and here we are, they just simply moved the game. im also a little pissed because I was going to go to the flyers game Tuesday night with a buddy from out of state who’s home for the week, not even going to attempt that with both games being played in Philly at the same time.

Eagles game moved to Tuesday night. Sorry

Which I hate. When I was in the food service industry I would always push back on putting anything cooked on the flat top with the word “grilled” in it. Even if you blanch it on a broiler and finish it on a flat top, there’s a noticeable difference between being grilled and seared. Truth in menu was (and still is) a big deal for me at places. always love seeing a “grilled Philly cheesesteak” when out of town. 99% chance it sucks.

No. You sear a hamburger in a frying pan.

When I was younger (15ish) I always thought that meant skiing bell to bell

With Covid running through Washington (18+ players) they might have another bye week this week

I have 13 days of work left this year at minimum….. I’m jealous of you folks that get a bunch of time off

Feels like a nice April morning outside right now accompanied by the “smell of money!” As the mushroom farmers would call it.

Had a guy sit down next to me at the bar at happy hour in a mask and gloves, order a beer and food… he would pull his mask down to take a sip or a bite of food then pull it right back up. I get being cautious, but if you’re THAT worried, happy hour at the bar doesn’t sound like a place you should be. I’ve also noticed a few places in town have put signs up on the door saying masks required (non-restaurants) which I’m sure will ruffle some peoples feathers.

No… it’s the jets… I’d look good at qb against them.
