I'll try about as hard as Doug
-
I'll probably be there Saturday. Not sure about getting there at 8 though as I work till 3am the night before
-
I'll write a tr at some point but minus the wind, today was bluebird. I stayed in sidewinder all day, the jumps were too much fun, but I did take a few quick runs down razors and challenge. Both were blown over but fast. All in all today was a solid day and I'm happy I rode there instead of blue. Not sure if I saw any other pasrs as I'm only familiar with Jeff, Doug, and justo out if the group. Edit: left around 7 and hit Taco Bell on the way home to get some steely nachos. Doug lyfe yo. Rick astly bird pure gold shaking my Herman

Setup has not and won't change. They close Sunday at 5.
-
Wind is starting to die down a little. Jumps in sidewinder are perfect. Last one hits nice
-
Meant to say 2:30 not 1:30
-
Should be up there around 1:30 or so. Everyone I'm going with is ball dragging around the house
-
Wallet in my back pocket, keys in another pocket. If it rains I get wet, if it snow, I get wet.
-
I never wear a jacket.
-
I'll be up there from 1:30ish to whenever tomorrow. Olive pants, grey Sochi northface sweatshirt, white helmet.
-
I'm heading up Wednesday since I can ride for free with my pass. It's really awesome they do that and aren't money hoarding assholes like bear.
-
That park is gone as previously stated but the new setup on timberline is actually really fun. Has some good lines in it, plus a c to s rail.
-
Tom, any reason why everything was taken out of the bottom of black bear?
-
I'm willing to bet at least 60% of our pass holders are purely park riders. That's about the only reason most people go there
-
They closed spring fling weekend last year. I remember because it was the weekend my school celebrates saint Patricks day so I skipped out on it to drink all day
-
Yeah I believe they closed on the 8th last year? It's pretty good for them, but they could probably last a little longer into April this year. I believe the 2010/2011 season they were open until the last week of March as well.
-
Bears closing on the 30th apparently didn't seem like they were in bad shape Friday?

The "decline" of snowboarding and rise of freestyle skiing has been talked about on here before and the Sochi Olympics hosting slopestyle and ski half pipe as events for the first time had me thinking about how much parks and completions have progressed in the past 5 years. I've noticed that things keep getting bigger and more challenging, HUGE tricks are being thrown, and crazy setups are coming out of almost any place with access to a groomer and someone with a few screws loose in their head. Anyway one of the reasons why I started this topic is because of this article. Red bull is Definatley stepping up the level of competitions with this and if you haven't seen simon dumonts cubed pipe video or Danny Davis' peace pipe video I highly encourage you to watch them. http://snowboarding.transworld.net/news/red-bull-double-pipe-snowboarding-competition-brings-first-ever-side-side-halfpipes-life-march-19-23rd-aspen/#.Uxaj0im9Kc0 So does anyone else feel that in the next 5 years this type of stuff is going to hit a peak or is the sport just going to progress from here?

Second jump was nice tonight BUT it could use a little more of a lip. Also, you had to completely skip the first jump to even have speed to hit the second.
-
They're too close together. Getting speed for the second jump isn't a problem if you skip the first jump

Descending popularity of downhill skiing in America

My trip to killington was done for real cheap. $50 for gas (after the split) $90 for a 2 day ticket $0 for hotel $30 for food (gotta love hot dogs $120 in alcohol. $15 in tobacco products. -
you should make that second jump a mellow step over like it was 3 weeks ago. Also, I love the use of the pill on the side of the crossover from cascade to lower Blackbear. It would be cool to see more stuff like that. IMO it would be fun if the stairs were set up on the other side of the wall ride that's in place now, although the current setup is real fun.
