Sib, Do you have a snow report for us? What's the buzz, tell us what's a happenning at your mountain.
-
At this point, I don't know. Since the trip won't be until March, I'll hold off until I see where the snow is.

The Ski Bum's leasing program is great for children, because it avoids a major investment in equipment that will only last a year. I know, we could swap/sell equipment, but I'll be honest, in spite of good intentions some things just don't get done. My wife and I used the leasing program for our children for several years. Unfortunately, at that point The Ski Bum did not have the junior lease program. I would have happily continued leasing equipment from The Ski Bum for a few more years for each of them. We have also purchased a lot of equipment and other things from The Ski Bum over the years. Bob at the Newark store is great. I needed boots with a large toe box to avoid the dreaded black big toe. He knew off the top of his head which boots I should try on.

Sib, I hope that snow is a positive omen for you for the coming ski season. You have a great mountain and I'm looking forward to my next visit. We won't be visiting you this year, however. My older daughter, whom you met last January, is off to Stanford for graduate school tomorrow. I hope to be skiing California and Nevada this winter. Bryan

Great results and great photo, even if it is a little fuzzy. Go Siblet!

You must have been a child bride

It's all those chemicals that boarders ingest! (j/k)

skimom, 'dude and ridge, thanks for representing Camelback so well. Congratulations to all!

Congratulations.

Yeah, probably me. Sunglasses, not goggles. If I didn't hear my name, I was probably checking out some girl.

Conditions were pretty good today, also. I was there from 7:30 to 11:30. Generally, there is a lot of snow. It is clear Blue is closing for lack of skiers and riders, not lack of snow. Challenge and Razor's Edge were particularly great runs. I did laps for the first two hours. I then moved over to Main Street, to play in the moguls. Those moguls are strange. It is probably because they build the moguls, the better line is across the hill, not straight down. At the bottom of Main Street, where all the trails come together, was crud. Ugh! A good morning of skiing.

Way to go 'dude (And, Atomic, there's this function called spell check. Give it a try. You'll like it. )

Is any of this Delaware rain snow in the Poconos?
ole2planker replied to ole2planker's topic in General Chat
Where is there? -
So is it raining in all the ski areas, or is some lucky area getting snow? Elk, maybe?
-
Breckenridge in Colorado received 26 inches of fresh! Damn, I wish I didn't have to work.
-
Thanks for the ideas, everyone. The problem with going further north is that I have to get up even earlier than my normal 5 AM. Ugh! Well, if I behave myself tonight I suppose I can do it.
-
I knew you'd suggest coming out west, again. That's why I put "In the Poconos" in the subtitle.
-
I'm thinking of driving up to the Poconos to ski this weekend. Which area do you think will have the best conditions. Should I drive all the way to Elk? Also, isn't this Presidents' Day weekend?
-
I'll be there, if I can drag my butt out of bed tomorrow morning. Gray ski pants, Red/orange Marmot jacket, blue Leedom helmet and red/white/blue K2 4s (you can check out my gear in Sib's thread with the photos when I visited nirvana).

Sib- I did get the best conditions out there this year!!!! It wasn't freezing or warm and it snowed alot. Thanks, again, for showing young 2planker and me around. Edit for grammar
-
I prefer an on mountain rental shop, if it has a good selection of skis, because you can keep going back each hour or so and change skis. A great way to compare skis in actual conditions. Edit for spelling

Hey, how about a little help out there!!!
ole2planker replied to Margaritaville Skier's topic in Camelback
Picky, picky, picky. Thanks for pointing out the error. I edited my post and corrected the route number. -

Margaritaville, I live in Wilmington, Delaware, just off of I-95. When I go to CB, I go I-95 north, to I-476 (the "Blue Route"), exit at the Lehigh Valley (Allentown?) exit, take 22 East, get on 33 North, and then I-80. Edited to correct route number. -
skimom, my recollection is that the rental shop at Blue has "high performance skis" for rent at the end of the rental line, just before the cashiers. I haven't been in there this season (hell, I haven't made it to the Poconos this season), so I don't know what the choices are.

Nice photos, Sib. Thanks for posting them. The snow conditions are such a shame, however. The rocks looked threatening!
