I'm going to break out of my "just getting started again" running program next week and actually get into the long loops that I used to do in high school. I'm really excited for this year. Well, by the time ASRA comes to Twood on Jan 6 and 7 I should be pretty finely tuned... so yeah, i'd say I'm decently tuned. I'm not too sure that there are many people on this board who could go out and run 3 miles at will... No offense intended to anyone.

I know there was a topic I started last year sometime about this, but what are all of you racers doing to get in shape for the season (other than skiing)? I have limited time, so I can't do extreme 5-6 hour workouts, but I have been doing mid range runs (2-3 mi) and some hill sprints. Any other suggestions?

Eh... 18's a little young for me. That's more Jeff's range... Maybe he can take them out to dinner at the country club his PARENTS are members at...

I wonder if they actually have a way to measure this stuff... Randomly I met one of the girls that runs the ASRA race at twood (mostly behind the scenes. turns out she works at the golfsmith by me) anyways, I wonder if they set gates with a specific radius in mind

Never claimed to be any kind of expert, and the last thing i wanted to do was sound arrogant or like a know it all. I just know that there are guys getting through those courses on 18m skis without skidding. I know there are a few guys that skied the first Twood course on 21>m skis, but I'm not sure how clean they did it.

I'd probably be willing to bet that the gate radii are a bit longer than that ski... on average, those are probably it, but I'd say at blue you'll probably see about 16-18 on the headwall and toward the finish, and probably the same at the go pro, with the regular GS at twood being a bit wider

Alright, here's the dilemma... I have- GS skis with no plate on them that need bindings Marker Piston Control Titanium 12 bindings with integrated piston system I want- As high performace a race system as is possible... within a reasonable price i know that the plate with 14.0 eps's or something along those lines is probably the best race system going... and my Ti12's aren't worth mounting on a plate... I'm sure having 2 pistons on the same ski is a bit of overkill (not to mention breaking all sorts of USSA/FIS regs on binding height). What I want to know is: am I truly going to see a discernable difference in performance if i go with a lower plastic mounting plate under my Ti 12 pistons as opposed to the full piston plate with the 14.0's? Someone help me... make a recommendation for me... please.

Yeah ski, I saw the one on ebay, but if I could help out someone on here that was looking to get rid of one I figured I would. lol... just gets me that I'll be spending more than half what i did on the skis on the plate... lol. Wow... guess I have to change my icons now... Anyways... I'll be back to full time post whoring once the golf season has completely died out... As for now, I just need to get my GS skis mounted in time for the season.

Is there ANY chance that anyone would happen to have a Marker WC piston plate hanging around that they're not using? I of course would want to purchase it from you, but I really don't feel like paying 180 bucks for it.

Maybe CB should also run a water slide through the winter and they could call it "Nipple Erector" and it would be the most extreme thing in the poconos.... Yeah, it happens once in a while, just don't expect it all the time. Always remember- keep low expectations with me. Oh I've got to throw my two cents in here.... Ever notice that the best trails either have ridiculously scary names or names that you never understand until someone explains them? Think about it- The weird ones that are awesome- Goat, Starr, Rumrunner, Walking Boss... you'd never expect it. Then the scary- Triple Trouble, Flume, Falls, Organgrinder, Hellgate... that keeps people off of them. Maybe we could name it something scary like "Doug in a speedo" or "Jeff's Standing Behind You Without K-Y"

PASR golf outing??? what what??? I'm there. give me details. Maybe I'll even figure out the driver again before we do it... the game's a hell of a lot easier from the fairway.
