  1. doug, honestly, if you think about blue, how many long blacks do they have? besides razors and challenge, none of the blacks have much significant length... maybe main street... but I really don't see main street being any more difficult than big pocono run at CB... As for the rangers... well, I'm yet to run into one that I don't like... I probably will get a pass at blue next season... in addition to CB, so long as i can afford to buy a pass on my own money. POC- that might be one of the coolest things I've heard this week... see ya friday???
  2. The runs are just as long, in fact I think cliffy is longer than razors, and I think the headwalls on all 4 front diamonds (maybe not the asp) are all steeper than razors... Frankly, I really don't think CB is poorly run. I think some people make things out to be a much bigger deal than they really are. Do they do a poor job posting trail closings periodically? Yes. Should Blue close trails more often? In my opinion, yes. Does blue do a much better job posting trail closings? not really, they just close trails less often. POC- doug won't come up, so do you want to buy a broke college student a beer? Mt bike- you crack me up dude.
  3. doug, be a real man and ski camelback.
  4. Congrats Glenn! I was up there yesterday (tuesday) as well. i didn't get there til about 6, though. I'd really like to meet a few more of you CB guys. Maybe glenn, or someone else can even teach me how to snowboard better... I will definitely be looking for you guys more often though. I guess I'll have to take a few more park runs... Tonight I spent the night just about everywhere on the mountain, except for the park, as I was on slalom skis, and they don't fit too many park applications... sooo, if you guys see a red jacket with 2 pasr stickers on the back of the helmet, throw a snowball at me or something...
  5. I was in a hotel room in NYC like that once... it cost me 200 for the night, as well. My female companion complained that she was unable to maneuver at all in there... If I want to be able to access these stalls I would, in all seriousness, need to dislocate my shoulders.
  6. Alright, this is for you males that ski camelback... Have any of you guys attempted to/used any of the urinals in the locker room? I for one cannot fit into the stall to use one. Its not my gut, its my shoulders... they just don't fit in... I'm upset. I need to speak to management. I hope this did not come off as a vulgar post... just something thats been nagging at me everytime I ski there...
  7. I don't really know who it was that helped me out... I went into shock, so I can't really remember names, but they were awesome. I can't say enough good things about ski patrol at CB.
  8. Definitely go spyder... but you don't need to go with the highest end stuff... I have their Rival jacket, with zip off sleeves, etc. Retails for about 365.
  9. Personally, I think You're absolutely nuts getting on anything longer than a 170 at your weight. There's really no reason to do so, especially since most twins are a little bit wider, giving you more base area. Weight is a major consideration in sizing skis. I'll put it to ya this way, I'm 5'9", 195 pounds, and I'm on 169 Volkl Karmas. I'd think you'd want something agile and maneuverable for the park. Going any longer than 170 is just silly, in my humble opinion. At your weight, i think a 160 or 165 in whatever you decide to go with would be perfect. If you've got the cash to drop on them, I swear by my volkls. their dedicated jib ski is the Dogen, which you can pick up for around 400. If you want something thats sick in the park, and all over the mountain the Karmas are where its at. They picked up gold medals from ski magazine, and skiing. I wouldn't trade mine at all. Only downside- 600 for a twin thats sold flat is kinda steep.
  10. GEAR WHORING ALERT!!! papasteeze has entered the room. Nah, for you I'd say you should get on a 155 pair of Supersport 5 stars or even Allstars... mucho snappy, little lighter than an SL ski.
  11. Yeah, I think I will... I told the starter i'm going to start doing it like the guy in 40 year old virgin though, and scream out weird stuff.... "C*cksuckermother*cker" "Kelly Clarkson"
  12. Well, I was worried about getting a stronger push out of the gate. thats where my comp poles fail... they just flex out.
  13. thanks for the advice on the poles. I've got a pair of straight rec. poles I'll put the guards on. I was more worried about the strength of the poles. I guess thats not a big deal?
  14. no, but if the meteor hits in front of me its just that much more protection I'll have. lol Heard you're getting new sticks, I think I should concede...
  15. Well, I'm going to compare the new poles to the other metal poles I have, and see which poles are the strongest. whatever poles are the strongest will be the ones I use in the SL, hence, they will have handguards on them.
  16. Yeah, while I was on raceway I was working on one of my more major faults, so I was ignoring everything else about form. I've got 3 major things I want to clear up with my form that I'll be working on all week... you'll probably be able to find me at cb tues. during the day, maybe (but more doubtful) wed. night, thursday during the day, and maybe doing a light session on friday night to warm up for sat. Don't worry steezer... the stance is a lot wider now... and the skis even get on edge once in a while... lol
  17. Watch out for falling meteors this ski season... rumor has it Palmerton, PA is a high risk area Hehe... My Tarantulas and shiny new Swix GS poles complete with handy-dandy hand guards will arrive at my house on Wed. sometime during the day... Thursday night is going to be official gear-whoring night for me... lol. A little bit of fun on the SL boards, a little bit on the demi-GS boards, and I could give a damn how I place. EDIT: I think I might have to get myself some of this bionic underwear you speak of... and one more thing- Nastar seriously has to get some better medals... I'm getting sick of the coolest skiing trophy on my book case being a swix "beverage wrench." Tomorrow's still a bit up in the air... but sunday night nastar at blue isn't a bad option...
  18. So I got my speed suit today... the last Spyder GS suit in my size at the Loft... only gouged me for 175. Actually, i think it was a pretty good deal. So, this thursday I think I'll be on SL boards. I want to try and work with them before getting on them this weekend. '999- thanks for the update on space weather. Looks like I might just have a chance to beat Doug after all!!! On a sidenote: I had an awesome time skiing with Skimom today all day during training. We definitely got our money's worth!!!!
  19. Yeah, I won't lie, I had to stop here and there due to some fatigue. I was also working on some techniques up top where it was choppy/bumpy. Doug, what do race skis have to do with it??? I don't have a pair For someone who doesn't want a rivalry you sure talk about that damn meteor hitting you a lot. What do you expect, you talk sh*t on my skiing and then I look at you and say, "gee doug, you're right, I probably won't ever beat you unless a meteor crashes into you." Yeah, that'll happen...
  20. At this point in time, yes, I'm unemployed. I'll be going back to the golf shop I work at during the warm months, unless I find something better to do. I'm also in college.
  21. Screw New Brunswick twirling glow sticks. And doug, don't flatter yourself, I've got much better reasons for changing the signature. From this point on I dedicate every hour of my life to toasting you. And I'll probably spend a significant amount of time wondering when Jeff's going to mature. Racerchick- feel free to take bets, I have no problems taking cash from anyone... Ski999- you're still cool. I'm buying my speed suit tomorrow, thanks for all the info. Its great having you around to keep us racing noobs informed. The same goes for you Skimom.
  22. Masters session #1 tomorrow. And I'm not a builder anymore. that was only for a month or so. So, does anyone want to take bets that I'll beat doug before the season is over?
  23. For the most part the mountain is skiable. I do suggest, however, that we move the pasr day to next sunday, as ASRA will be there, which means Skimom, myself, Ski999 (hopefully), Atomic Jeff, and Doug will all be racing. Furthermore, Temps will be dropping rapidly after sunday. They will be able to make LOTS of snow all week over night. Next weekend will be a much better weekend for it.
  24. If you ask the nastar staff there are about 4 or 5 of us that have a lockdown on the "freak of the mountain" category... And yes, '999, you're not the only one that hopes to see an attractive woman on the slopes bearing some skin. I thought I saw a winner last night, but it was just a flesh colored turtleneck...
  25. And you guys thought I was joking.... So that makes Toast, Doug and I that all saw this phenomenon of stupidity.
