Hold on, I'm taking notes here... drop jacket then stretch. I got it. lol, I wish i could drop my jacket, stretch, and then smoke anyone.

You mean I'm not supposed to go commando under my speed suit? Thanks for the heads up '999. what are the tights like, are they like compression shorts? Or are they a full length pant?
-
Well doug would have beat the pacesetter if there wasn't a 2 in. long gouge in the base of one of his skis... We are definitely getting faster as a group though! The progress thats being made is really awesome to watch.
-
I am most definitely talking about ASRA! I was thinking, however, that I might race Nastar in a suit as well, just to show off my figure and maybe get a few dates... In all seriousness though, thursday nights are starting to bring out speed suits at blue...
-
My pants do not zip off, so I was pricing the zip offs yesterday. Frankly, at this point, price isn't so much a factor to me as much as having proper clothing for next saturday.
-
I saw a 20 something male at Blue yesterday wearing a full body spider-man suit (not to be confused with a spyder speed suit). If I were to dress as the web-slinger, does anyone feel it would improve my times? yeah, me either.

Yeah, frankly, for me I'm more worried about it fitting the equator than the prime meridian if you know what I'm saying

lol, we didn't compare anything, doug didn't tell me his. And when talking about racing groups we mustn't forget the Steeze Cup, which is a PASR only series, holding races only in the Chinese Downhill format at mountains across PA. Trademarks include some harmless gouging, uncontrollable gloating, gaudy snow camo jackets, vicious freestyle rapping, red bull drinking, sticker sticking, and of course post-race post whoring. Look for this series to appear on the Outdoor Life Channel between the hours of 3 and 4 in the morning, an hour during which the world has wisely chosen to sleep, for the most part.

Thanks '999, I actually found a place in OR online that has a lot of suits on sale for the end of the season. Out of curiosity, what size do you wear, because i'd guess that you and I would wear a similar size... or maybe I'd need a size bigger

Hey everyone, I need a speed suit. Does anyone know of a ski shop in Central to Northern NJ, or around Blue or Camelback that carries them? I'm hoping maybe nestor's or the loft stock them, but something in jersey would be really, really cool. And please no one tell me to buy it on Ebay, there aren't many on there, and I don't think I'd get it for when I need it (next weekend).

I'd say that blue and montage have very rhythmic bumps, that is true. When I used to ski a lot of bumps I liked a less rhythmic pattern. It varies your skiing, and provides a much bigger challenge. I think the dude will agree with me- the guy we saw tearing up Asp on Saturday night seemed to find an awesome rhythm in the bumps... If you look at awesome bump runs like Goat and Starr at Stowe, they have a kind of almost back country character that you just can't produce down here. Its just something you can't replicate by letting a straight trail bump up. I was merely saying that Asp has a really cool character to it, and the way the trail lies ungroomed is really awesome, and very close (albeit on a much smaller magnitude) to the way Goat and Starr are. Don't get me wrong, there are some fantastic rhythmic bump runs out there, such as Liftline at Smuggs, National at Stowe, and Lower Flume at Loon. Main St. at Blue and the way Rocket was before it was groomed over are very reminiscent of these trails. My problem with these trails is that they are just moderately wide, straightforward blacks that have been allowed to bump up. All that said, I think The Asp has what it takes to be one of CB's signature trails in the form that it currently holds.

Ohhhhh, I think I might show up.... I'll either be there at 7:15 or so, or around 12 noon. depends how I'm feeling that day... I'll let ya know as the day gets closer... A lot of people know who I am by now. Whether or not thats a good thing I'll leave up to them, lol. Look for the red spyder jacket, black pants, black helmet, pasr stickers on the back of the helmet, my vokls of course, and I'll probably be either on razor's, switchback, lazy mile, or main st. most of the day.

First of all, Bunny, thats a horrible reason to stay home... I'm in NJ every weekend... lol. The superbowl is sunday? Imagine that.... lol. Maybe I'll head up early for sunday... I'll be in the parking lot blasting Phil Collins.... Ok, that was a joke. kinda. lol Oh, think twice, its just another day for you and me in paradise...

EH, I'd say they're a bit bigger than 2 ft... and the one ledge near the bottom is about 4 ft. so its one hell of a ride....

Skiing is more of a sport than many will give it credit for being. I played football and baseball for most of my life, football and tennis in high school, golf in the summer, and collegiate football and rugby. Skiing is as tough as any of those sports, and it requires the same amount of training and conditioning to attain a high level of proficiency. Thats my take on it.
-
montage, you have no idea... the bumps are getting bigger by the day, and its got the bends, the back country feel, the ledges... its fantastic.
-
No worries, I'll pick ya up if I need to
-
Whoa, all I have to say is that Asp has become ONE SICK BUMP RUN. I hate to compare the two, but I have to say Asp is reminding me of a shorter, less pitched version of Goat. If you've ever skied Goat, then you can appreciate this. Doug- I think its right up your alley.

Wow... Um, guys, I got some SL skis for the Mountain Creek race, WOULD SOMEONE PLEASE LOCK THIS THREAD BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED?

Prop to CB for a great Opening Weekend
Metz the Jersey boy replied to Papasteeze's topic in Camelback
Yeah, the dude and I had a fun night saturday night... and i have to agree with him, that is definitely prime time... and he did in fact call drop... very, very loud... I officially love the park. -
Jeff, the ski search is over, I've found SL skis... but I don't think I'd put myself on 157's.... just a bit too short for me... I was on Racerchick's dynas the other night... and they felt like toothpicks. Now I just need to find some shinguards and some handguards. any idea where I might come across this stuff?
-
Skimom has officially saved me! Awesome! I can't wait for this. 'mom, you should DEFINITELY come out to Mt. Creek! Its going to be a blast.
-
lol.... might work if I didn't beat everyone into the bar....
-
Anyone have any idea where I can come across a pair of SL skis for the ASRA race at Mt. Creek?
-
Alright, my normally laid back self is starting to get rather upset at you, Rob. ASRA is a FAR cry from a beer league. The only reason I might call it a beer league is due to the fact that after I race and get schooled by the entire field I need a beer to help me forget about it. If you really think that ASRA is just a bunch of hacks showing up to race and drink you should unroll the dollar bill and save the flouro for ridge's skis. Either that, or maybe even show up to a race... How about you show up to Mountain Creek. I'll be there, and I'm planning on racing GS and SL, so long as I can find SL skis.
