  1. Skimom, I really appreciate your concern. Thanks for asking, and I'm feeling really well now. My back is strong enough that I feel I can push it tomorrow at blue. my left shoulder is getting close to 100%, but my right is still a little tender and lacking a full range of motion. either way, i feel like I could control myself at speed now. Tomorrow should be fun. and I'll be at CB on sat.
  2. doug, sorry about that last post bro. We started getting pretty competitive on here and the adrenaline started flowing, and some things came out that just sounded harsh or dickhead-like. Truth be told, i'm just here to meet some new skibuddies. Hopefully there's no bad blood between us. I'm still up for a friendly race for a beer though. Cheers man.
  3. Lol... yeah, ski999, you're right about tomorrow night. so long as it isn't raining I will be at blue in a heartbeat to raise ruckus. I'll bet a bottle or a case on it. No problems. My only condition is that it is kept friendly. aparently there's already enough bad blood that floats around on this board. I'm sick of all of that, and I just want to restate my reason for posting on this board. That is- To make new friends to ski and ride with. That is all. I come from a snow deprived, vertical-less place without skiers, and I just want some quality skibuds. Thats my vent. Later peeps.
  4. Wow, and I thought I experience rejection in my love life...
  5. Yeah, my time at tanglwood showed that i can snowplow a GS course and still beat a few people. and I could have told you where to properly put your hands... in your pocket to get your wallet to buy me a drink after I win. Doug's excited since he learned how to turn his skis last week... I've been carving big turns for the past 3 years once I realized how one needs to ski a GS. Doug, don't know where the hostility came from, but I know you just dropped the gauntlets and I'm about to reply. I just don't understand why you're so hostile all of a sudden. and jeff, don't think you're off the hook so easily, I'm still going to try and win back that case of yueng... lol try being the key word there. PS- first I'm going to beat Doug by more than a second. then we're going to have a freestyle rap battle and you'll kill me.
  6. Hey, skimom is damn fast, with or without half a leg... and the fact that I could barely walk to my car at the end of the day should be noted... Either way... its on.
  7. I am officially re-hijacking this topic. WHO IS COMING ON SUNDAY??? Post official yes's and no's on here. Papasteeze is running the Camelback shuttle, and I'll be running the central jersey/blue mtn. shuttle. PM me for a ride.
  8. Lol, I don't know if I'll be in one piece since I'm being stupid and racing thursday night at blue, but I'm planning on being there. I don't have a speedsuit so I'm going to wrap my body in cellophane and color it black.
  9. See what? you get to see me in the starting gate and at the finish line.. everything else is just a blur....
  10. I'll race for parking spots... damn, I'll race for bragging rights. I have officially entered this challenge under my own free will for no good reason other than pride. I do have to agree, however that the format should be nastar. Otherwise physics just take over. The heaviest person (most likely me) on the longest skis (whoever the biggest gear whore is, need I strap on the 230 Salomon DH skis?) would easily win a straight run. It takes actual skill and technique to race gates. Even if the current participants choose to exclude me, I will be auctioning off the DH skis to the highest bidder...
  11. It appears doug is getting a little fiesty on me... oh well... no matter how I'm feeling I'll be at blue on thursday. I can now lift my arms into a decent race position. I can just about torque my body enough to make a nice GS arc. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, either for the first time, or again. The race is on...
  12. HA Doug, you truly are a master of analogy. It almost sounds like you're challenging me for thursday... I really want to make sure I'm healed up... but if i am... its on like donkey kong. I think I need to follow jeff's lead and start earning some respect on here. Only one way to do that. rock 'em on edge and watch the jaws drop. No more talk until I have a couple of posted times. catch ya later.
  13. Jeff, your's or Dude's names aren't on there simply because you're not involved in this particular challenge, and I did not want to imply that I felt I was faster than certain people, or to imply that they are not good skiers, etc. Everyone knows you and Dude are really fast. If they don't know, now they should know. But, for the record, I don't like being beaten by either of you two either Skimom- haven't had one today. I'm re-quit as of now. anytime I feel like I want one I go downstairs and pedal a mile on the stationary bike, or ski a mile on the nordic track as fast as I can, and then when i'm really out of breath I don't want one anymore. Plus I get in shape. BONUS!!! Yeah, definitely spent an hour on the bike with the rocky soundtrack blasting throughout my house. Everyone get in on this action saturday. I think I gonna be FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST
  14. Metz is very, VERY in. Ski999, I do realize just how fast Ridge is... and he's really, REALLY fast. I don't like anyone beating me, whether its volkl, rob, ridge, that guy Bernie that can ski 56 mph, my grandmother, or bode. After saturday I've got that fire burning... I got home from work and got on the stationary bike for an hour today. Hopefully we'll see the A-Game on Sat.
  15. My money's on.... ME. Because: 1.) Rob's semi-fast, but I think I can take him 2.) I'm sick of people confusing me for a CB instructor just cause I have a red spyder jacket 3.) Rob said his son would whoop me last time... I know he's fast, but he's half my age. 4.) I love dusting ski instructors 5.) I'm really hungry for a win as I'm making my comeback no offense to either rob, or volkl... you both have awesome pairs of skis... lol See ya saturday kiddies. Took a nice fast carving run with rob down Raceway last time... Scaring kids is fun.
  16. Ski999 was definitely flying... We should definitely get a gun... if every member on the site pitched in a quarter we could have one... just something to mull over...
  17. Congrats to everyone who ran the nastar at CB today. Noticed awesome times for Ridge and Papasteeze. A gold and a platinum for the family today, nice job! Anyone else, nice runs, and I wish i could have been out ripping it with ya!
  18. I'm almost positive the forward pressure adjustment is the small knob on the bottom of the back of the heel piece. It is sticking out rather far, when it should be flush to the best of my knowlege. Anyone have any info?
  19. Alright, can anyone please give me some help adjusting the forward pressure adjustment on Marker Motion PCOS bindings? After looking at the binding it appears that i could have avoided my fall if the forward pressure was set correctly. I'm guessing it is incorrect since I downsized boots this year. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  20. sorry guys, I wasn't feeling up to getting out today. I'm mucho sore after yesterday. And besides, someone yelled at me when i told them I wanted to go skiing. lol. I'm hoping for next weekend.
  21. I'll be on Volkl Superspeeds. I had a rough time today at the ASRA race, due to my back not being able to support my weight in turns, but I might make a go at nastar tomorrow. If you find ridge I'll probably be the guy that him and papasteeze are spraying with snow.
  22. As of right now I'll probably be there... I really, really have to see how i'm feeling. Hopefully this week will put me in much better shape.
  23. I will almost definitely be up there tomorrow. I wear black pants, red jacket, black helmet, red lens goggles, red boots, black and red skis. I have PASR stickers on the back of my helmet.
  24. Well guys, first of all, congrats to Jeff, Skimom and Cole for some awesome skiing. Jeff- I have almost no doubt that you would have placed well had there been others in your age group. Cole, you put on a great show as well, and you have an absolutely beautiful family that you should be proud of. Skimom, it was great to see you putting the injury behind you and getting out there to rip it. Just watching you guys I was able to pick out a few things that I can build upon in my skiing. No injury/equip/etc. excuses, I just got blown out today. I have to thank everyone that showed up for reminding me what I love the most about skiing: Seeing someone faster than me and then busting my hump to get to where I can catch up. Cole, like you said, its a journey. I can't wait to see where it takes me. Finally, Doug- YOU GOTTA GET IN ON THIS! If anything just for the swix speed run. All I could think of while watching it was you bombing down the hill. PS- WOW, a ski resort with 1.50 beers. Sweet. PSS- I'm on such a high right now. It was amazing.
  25. Alright, i'm out of here. Headed up to CB to catch some warmup for TWood tomorrow. Time to fly. See everyone bright and early. Best of luck to you all, and we're definitely going to have some fun. Beers on me after the race for everyone that is of age... and probably for one person who isn't, since if/when he beats me I have to give him a case.
