I NEVER thought i would see the day that spring mount was open longer then bear. I just would like to say to the management at bear creek if anyone reads this...I am severely disappointed in the mountain. For the past couple years now, this "resort" has become less and less about pleasing the people that actually ride here. Now I realize things like the super duper cool tough mudder are the things that pay the bills and not the season pass holders but this mountain has long lost sight of what makes bear creek work. If I had any other option of mountains to ride at, I would be gone in a heart beat and I know there are many others who feel the same way. The lodge and the spa are greaaatttt but what the hell happened to being a ski resort? Maybe if the people in power gave two shits about any form of winter sports this place would be in a lot better shape. If spring mount can make it through the rain then I have no doubt in my mind that bear could as well, but in order to do that the people running the mountain have to give two shits and they dont. They would much rather close down the mountain early so they can squeeze in a couple more weddings and some bull shit obstacle course. I think it pretty much sums it up when you watch the commercials in the lodge for the mountain and the only mention they have that their is even skiing and riding at this place is in like the last 30 seconds. Why dont we just get the inevitable over and get rid of the mountain and build a one million square foot expo center so then you can have all the stupid corporate events and weddings that you can possibly squeeze in. I appologize for my ranting but seriously, bear has become more of a god damn circus then a ski resort.

Hey guys, figure i would post this in here since most of us ride here most of the time. Link to teaser on our site... What The Huck Crew

you people are ridiculous...I used to come on this forum a lot, but lately all this has turned into is a place for people to try and out do one another and sound smarter then the next person. If you people are so damn smart then what the hell are you doing on this message board. The only reason i even am posting this is because I remember a time when pasr was a place where you could actually go to get and share information and opinions. Now it just turned into a place for little kids to bitch and older people who need to get lives, sitting here and trying to sound smarter then a bunch of 12 year olds. Im sure every one of you will have something smart to say about this so go ahead and say what you want b/c i wont be back to read it, this place has turned into a joke.

no and no, earlier in the day on both those days yes.

Dude...how about you stop telling me how to do my job. Theres certain things that cant and should not be done by hand and rebuilding a quarter pipe is one of them, thats why they have groomers. Last time I checked andy and tom are both out on the hill on regular so if you really feel like complaining that much go find them and talk to them. I didnt say anything because I would rater have it be a lumberjack hit then a quarter pipe tree ride.
-
okkkkk.....1. yeah im on park crew but like i said it needs to be rebuilt with the groomer and unfortunately i dont really have one of those so i guess I cant really personally help you out there. 2. Be my guest and take a shovel, and while your at it just hand your pass over to ski patrol so they dont have to bother chasing you down to take your pass from you. 3. That tree bonk is near impossible to keep nice. Even if andy or tom or bob took the time to make it nice 3000 people an hour would just ride up it and mash the lip so until people learn how to ride features right or we find a way to get rid of all the weekend noobs....Just man up and lumber jack it, Its more fun anyway.
-
Have fun spending 2 hours out of your day man. that thing is complete ice. it needs to be torn down and rebuilt with the groomer.
-
Its alot harder then just saying ohh lets have park passes. I know that the idea is constantly tossed around to management etc. at the mtn, but its a difficult thing to put in motion...well not super difficult, but alot harder then saying oh lets have park passes. I think for starters the race team needs to be reprimanded by somebody higher up in charge. Since they are affiliated with the mtn they should be setting a good example, not being the stem of alot of the problems.

well the jumps arent supposed to be big. Thats what the jumps in cascade/ tubing are for. The jumps in black bear are supposed to be small, fun and good to learn stuff on which is exactly what they are. As for being to close, thats not true at all, if your good enough, you can get a really good flow between all 4 of them and its a nice line with good variety of jumps. you can even use the 2'nd jump which is a table top as a hip and still have speed to hit the 3'rd and 4'th jumps.

yeah, heres the proper link so it doesnt have to be downloaded to watch it http://blip.tv/file/get/Cliff6948-CamelbackFuuunnnn383.mov
