got bad news guys, it isnt looking so good for the next WEEK!!!! have any mtns ever offered like money back because they were only open for a month, b/c i could sure use some bucks right now to help pay for all these freaking lift tickets to big boulder!!!!

Its bitching and moaning in general, yeah i think we all fuckin know its hot out, we dont need a bunch of "geniuses" on a message board telling us that its hot outside, but thanks anyway.....

I DO NOT understand why people dont get this....... ok lemme explain this easily... PEOPLE- GLOBAL WARMING HAS NOTTTTTHHHIIINGGG to do with the unseasonably warm temperatures. This is ALL el nino, shit happens and this is just one of those shit happens years. I was watching the weather the other day and the record high of like 68 was set in 1932... yeah like 70 years ago, back when if you said global warming people woulda had NO FREAKING CLUE what you were talking about. im not saying global warming isnt real but we will never see the effects of it during our life times. Global warming (if it truly exists) would be a gradual change, point some degrees every year, it wouldnt just spike to being 60 outside. I freaking think theirs just as many threads on here bitching and moaning about global warming as their is people yelling at bear for not being open. So lets cut it out, ALLLLL of the bitching and moaning and fork out the 30 bucks to go ride another mtn right now till our beloved bear creek has the good fortune of being able to blow enough snow to open....

How could they have used their snow better?????? do you think if they didnt build the lips up to the rails that they had out that they coulda been open another day??? NO..... come on people you all think you could do a better job, then why dont you go and buy the mountain and we'll see how good of a job you can do running it. I think they made the right choice by putting out as many rails as they can, i think it brought in alot more people then if they would have just opened the trails. Also their are alot of other conditions that contribute to bear losing their snow so fast.... such as traffic on the snow- Bear was pretty crowded for the couple of days tey were open and that really put a hurting on the snow with the little base they had. Another big one is the way the mountain faces, Bear gets such a ridiculous amount of sunlight this time of year that the snow melts at such a faster rate then it would at any other mtn. Combine those 2 things with the fact that they only had what like 3 or 4 days blowing snow and i think they did a pretty good job for what they had to work with, they are getting screwed over so far this year and theirs nothing anybody can do...As for satisfying their passholders, i think thats why they opened with 13 jibs (more then anyone else in PA on opening day), to satisfy their passholders. Probably not to many people realize it but park crew built all those lips by hand because they couldnt take a groomer on the snow. I think they did EVERYTHING they could to try and satisfy their passholders...

I dont understand, everyone on the park crew that ive been talking to said that the park logic guys were dicks and thats why they got fired, even after i told them about the glowing reputation they have on this message board they still insisted that they were dicks. Maybe they are still sore about them leaving but i dont understand why they would have this soiled reputation with park crew if they were made to leave and didnt leave on their own????

I dunno i didnt see this the 3 times ive been up there???? when i was there they would start at the top and walk down fixing everyhting on the way down..... yeah they yelled stuff sometimes but it never really messed you up, you shouldnt be listening to what people are saying when your going to do a jump or rail either, i was talking to a bunch of the guys from park crew for a while and they seem pretty cool, i dunno though, maybe its just me but i think their doing an awesome job, at least their fixing shit, at most other mtn's you got the park crew fixing shit in the morn and then letting shit go all day, so at least their grooming stuff.....

I wouldn't count the Stairmaster, it doesn't have metal edges. UMMMMMM YEAH....... I believe your thinking of the forum destroyer that has no edges, the stairmaster def has edges, well at least last time i checked when i rode mine yesterday....

well thats commonly known as an expression and i didnt literally mean it but i have had this talk with my friends, and ill admit that blue has some really good ideas ( ie. the bus) but their execution in them just does not make any sense. Heres a good example, i dont understand why you guys built that huge c rail but didnt bank it???? its gonna be so hard to slide even when it is on a bank. the rail needs a bank to it, not it needs to sit on a bank.... dont get that. And with the bus i dont understand why they didnt go either rail OR butter box instead of doing both.... like i said, good ideas but i just dont understand the logic behind them, why not stick to proven designs that work istead of going with ( in my opinion) cheaper, less professional designs... just my 2 cents, i know alot of people disagree with me but thats ok....

Actually it hink bear has had this planned for longer then blues bus, i think blues "bus" was an attempt to one up bears car..... to bad from the looks of it we got the nicer cleaner one...... but we wont know till we get to ride them both... SO LET IT SNOW!!!!

we just would have to get bear to agree to let us use the rails or boxes or whatever..... then maybe assist us in setup, but im sure park crew would be down to help out, they wanna ride just as bad as we do....

Yeah i mean you need barely any snow to set up 2 boxes, in fact you could do it with the snow you could get at an ice rink, and i KNOW bear has at least that much snow......

As far as the rail jam, we discussed it today. Unfortunatly, we just don't think we'll have the snow. We'll look at things again on Tuesday, and if for some reason we change our minds, I'll let you know then. If it does happen, it would be Friday afternoon and it would probably be for passholders only. However, it really doesn't look good at this point. ohh man that sucks!!! I was hoping to be able to ride without having to pay to go somewhere.... this christmas vacation is going to BLOWWWW

Does anyone else watch the weather and then when the guy tells you that its gonna be in the 40's for the next weeks, you start cursing him out as loud as you can???? haha or is that just me??? I know last night i was yelling so loud that my dad came up to my room. haha

If bear is not open on next wednesday when we have this movie night thing (which from the sound if it might be a possibility) do you think it would be possible to have a little rail jam??? just bring out 2 boxes or something and slap them down on a patch of snow????? just a little way of saying to your loyall pass holders that you feel our pain???? PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE????? ill even bring 2 bags of ice if you could make this happen!!!! haha no but really i think it would be a really nice thing considering how antsy everyone is to ride.

Well hopefully thats exactly what will happen thought, we'll get through this heat spell here and then it will DUMP the rest of the winter and into the beggining of spring, that would AWESOME!!!!

PEOPLE......... R E L A X!!!!! first off this is NOT global warming, if you watch the wether channel at ALL which you obviosely havent this is el nino and its not the first time its happened, The same weather conditions have been happening since they started predicitng weather. Its just one of those years that we get screwed and dont get to ride till january, so instead of complaing and blaming it on global warming which it IS NOT. lets just calm down, and hope that since they open late that maybe we can get to ride into late april.

The ski instructors had a meeting the other day and "supposedly" their hoping for next thursday, but then again that all depends on the weather and if it gets cold enough, its looking really iffy for the rest of December.... PLUS "supposedly" bear wants to open back up with 100% cover and all there trails open.... I dunno how much more of this i can take, i dont have the kind of moeny to ride blue 3 times a week but im dieing... I GOTTA RIDE!!!!!!

Yeah man its not like their doing this just to piss YOU off.... everday their not open their losing possible money so of course their gonna blow snow as often as they can to get open as soon as they can. Everyones just gonna have to be patient for the next week or so and maybe pay the 30 bucks to go ride blue if you cant wait. KNOW WA MEAN??!!!! Its ok because as soon as bear gets a good base down their gonna open back up and were gonna start seeing some of those crazy park features that we've all been dieing to see.... OHHH YEAH!!!! i think it would be cool if they set up a quarter pipe on the side so you could stall the bus and stuff.... like have the rail and then have the quarter pipe on the side.. you know
