  1. Why are the guns on the cascade shooting but they arent blowing at the bottom of the mountain, yet their blowing on TUBING???!!!????? what the heck, is the temperature on cadcade that much different from the bottom of the mountain that you cant blow at the bottom??? haha sorry i just really want that dc stair case open.... ok well i really want bear open period, ill settle for anyhting.
  2. 27 bucks!!!!!! thats stupid.. if only half the mountains open, lift tickets should only be half price, and their gonna only have 4 jibs open at the most? wow bigg boulder you just took a step down in my book, i mean ill still be there today but.... that just aint right, im smelling a "since their the first open in PA they think they can charge full price" thing goin on here, that SUCKS!!!! yeah well at least i get to ride, im not gonna complain about that.
  3. how about letting us know some prices for tickets too..... i really dont want to have to pay full price to ride if i dont have to.... plus i need to know how much money to take with me....
  4. Wheres the pics of the other stairset??, The smaller, 25 foot or w/e one. I really wanna see that...
  5. Ok somebody from BC be honest with me..... is this just a "test" of the snow guns or are you actually turning them on and trying to get some base laid down because i would really like to ride bear creek this weekend.....
  6. PRICES AND SET UP PLEASEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Yeah what are we talking about for lift ticket prices???? hopefully not alot if its only like 4 jibs.........
  8. I really hope bear has the new DC mtn lab stair set open on opening day, i wanna hit that thing soooooo bad!
  9. The new pics are on blues website in the picture of the day thing or whatever. The one picture shows how big that swingset box actually is, its pretty freakin huge.
  10. I dont care if its the only thing you can ride on opening day but i WANT TO BE ABLE TO RIDE THAT STAIRSET ON OPENING DAY!!!! PLEASSSEEEE!!!!
  11. No thats not the new hotel, that isnt being put in till next year i dont think. Thats just a retaining wall i believe, its prolly needed to start building the hotel next year. Not only has the level of features really stepped up at bear but so had the riding, ide give it a week or two and your going to be seeing that rail gap get destroyed, its not as crazy as youd think...
  12. much like many of the other rails at blue
  13. yeah there was nobody shooting anything. There was a lady who was taking a couple of pictures but i assume that was for the jfbb website and they prolly didnt turn out very well because it was dark out and the lighting wasnt super. I had my digi cam with me and i was gonna bust it out and take some video clips but i was having too much fun riding....... sorry guys.
  14. Yeah it was really fun, just a nice, chill, fun jam. It was a little slow but nobody really cared because we were all riding and thats all that matters. The premier was ok, it was a little long and had to much skiing for my taste but it was a pretty good movie. ( some of the skiing was pretty sick). oh yeah everyone that was there for the premier got a free jfbb tee shirt!!! free stuff is always awesome.
  15. yo man calm down, theres actually only one, maybe two tops that are talking about bear opening. People are just excited for the season to start so chilll my friend.
  16. yeah i dunno it def looks on the webcam like the trees and ground are coated with snow....... maybe someones playing a trick. haha
  17. im not criticizing rails, i just dont know how practical the down flat down with the curved transitions is going to be, i actually cant wait to ride blue and hit some of this new stuff, the bus and s box sound like their gonna be sick.
  18. well if you ever tried to boardslide either the J rail or the dragon box at bear, its ALOT harder then just "leaning forward and balancing". youll see what i mean the first time you try to boardslide that down falt down. I havent seen the rail yet but im assuming it has short little transitions which are the hardest thing to keep your balance through, if they were long mellowed transitions then it prolly wouldnt be as much of a problem.
  19. It sounds like blue has got some really good ideas this yearb but i dont understand the logic behind some of their stuff like the down flat down with curved transtition????? theres a reason EVERY single other mountain dosent used curved transitions, as soon as you hit that curve your feet are gonna slide right out from under you and your goin straight to your tail bone. Also the rail/ butterbox on top of the bus, people like to spin when on butter boxes, when you spin you have no control, when you have no control you cant stop yourself from running into the rail that is in the middle of the butter box. My suggestion ( not that it matters) scrap the rail, it would be a lot more fun with just the butter box. Also the sliding board rail, i could think of about 100 other better uses for the metal needed to build that rail, trust me, having seen a couple of them tried out at bear, circus rails are DUMBBBB, take that metal and make a decent rainbow box or something that isnt retarded and will be stupid after the first time you hit it. Swingset, awesome idea, if set up right. Huge C, not quite sure with how big it is and the fact that it has no bank to it, that gonna need to be set up perfect all the time or you will NEVER be able to do it. Overall some really good ideas but just bad execution, kinda reminds me of the stari set, yeah blue was the first one around with a stairset, but it was just sooooo short. But again props to blue for some of the new ideas but try and stick th the proven things that work, becausse its gonna suck when you gotta pull that crap out halfway through the year because no one does it (like that huge rainbow with the kicker on the end thing)
  20. I think bear is gonna take the award for best park in the mid atlantic, ive been there a couple time lately and wait till you see the new shit they got its off the chain, but i do believe boulder is gonna be a close second, i some pics of the new rails that boulders gettin and they look tight, its gonna be a good year this year, REALLLL good, plus that team challenge is an awesome idea and should be super fun.

    Elks new stuff?

Ill be making a weekend trip up to elk this year with some people. Is there any word on improvements for the mountain? All the other mountains in PA are planning some bigggggg upgrades, does elk have anything new and cool this year?
  22. This might be a stupid question but why not continue the side rail on the box part all the way through the up flat down instead of just having flat down. It would provide for alot more possiblities... such as 50-50 up boardlside the top etc. just a question but it still looks sick and either way i wont be complaing when im riding that beauty of a rail this winter.
  23. im pretty sure almost no one on the east coast (not even vermont) is gonna be able to touch our jibs this year. Bear is stepping it up bringing the pro level stuff from the west coast right here to PA. PROPS.... major props. as for the j rail, just trash that thing, maybe you can sell it on ebay or something, that thing was STUPID! dont get rid of the dragon rail though that thing wasnt bad once you learned how to do it, plus it was funny watching from the quad how everyone would eat it big time every time they tried it.
  24. I dont know if that is the best spot for a feature like the dc mtn lab stiar set. I mean yeah i get that its going to be the crown jewel of bear creek and your going to want everyone to see it, but a pro level feature like that has no business being right at the bottom of the hill where EVERYONE and there dad on ski blades can come down and hit it. Every single thing in the jib garden area get so tracked out that its very hard to hit, and a feature like that stair set is not going to leave no room for error when you catch an edge in a rut running up to it b/c all the ski bladers and little kids felt like jumping off the side of it. I mean dont get me wrong i cant wait to hit that and its def gonna be the sickest thing in PA, maybe even the east coast but im just really questioning the placement of it. Theres just been to many problems in the past of little kids sitting on the landings of rails and jumps etc. for it to be a good idea to have that there. Every little kid who thinks they can hit that is just goign to ride right over it and jump down the stairs, having noooo clue what their doing. I mean i ahve no problem with people who dont normally try something liek that to do it, b/c everyones gotta start somewhere, i just dont want to see people getting hurt.
  25. from the looks of it, it appears to be about maybe 10 feet or maybe a little over. also the landing right now has a decent slope to it so im sure that it will be fine when they blow snow onto it. cant wait to hit that. this is exactly what bear needed, some creative stuff that no one else around has, props to whoever came up with the idea, as long as its maintained nicely it should be really cool, but it has to be maintained or thats just asking for people to get hurt.
