Thats not the real site, i had to use a proxy to get to it since im in school, but that link will take you to the pictures page. Me and my friends went up there for the job fair and we saw some of the new rails and some of the improvements made to the hill. Theres a brand new flat down flat that looks absolutely SICK!!! theres also a new flat down and a couple of new other rails. The new movable wall ride looks pretty sick to. We also have a picture of looks like it could be the cliff drop thats being talked about. Go check it out!!! and if you wanna check out our site with some other pictures and video and stuff its www.putfile.com/whatthehuck thanks

HANDRAILS.........PLEASE! and good ones, like the ones at mtn creek, not like the one at blue where its only like 10 ft long. some nice long, mellow downsloped handrails, maybe even with steps under them to make it more real. and im not bustin on bear here b/c its my home mtn and im proud of it, i love the place, but lets get some creative stuff in there, and no more circus rails. Ide like to see some log jibs and and some other creative stuff, bear mtn out in cali does alot of it, just random stuff thats fun to bonk or slide, stuff to change up the pace every once in a while.

I think bear made a big mistake by closing so early. their going to lose alot of business to blue next year from people that are really dissapointed with them. I really dont see why they didnt stay open and maybe just open at night and on the weekend instead of running the quad allllllllll day long when NOBODY is there . i mean if your gonna run a lift all day at least run the double that most likely costs less to run. It just dosent seem like it was a very wise desicion to close so early, but maybe im wrong.
-
It wouldnt really cost anything though, all they would have to do is move some snow down to the bottom and set up some rails. They wouldnt need a lift going or anything. They could even charge 10 bucks to do it. I know i would pay 10 dollars to ride a nice set up and im sure alot of other people would to.

Is there any chance of a spring rail jam happening like the one that was supposed to take place last year and never did? I dont see why it wouldnt be possible with the amount of snow they have if they scrape some together and thrown down a couple of rails. I know about a million people that would kill for this oportunity.

whats the actuall name of the plastic that they use on most boxes and stuff. Im trying to build some stuff for summer rail jams this year and was wondering what the best surface to use for boxes is.

Does anybody know where the slopestyle results can be viewed? Are they posted anywhere online or anything? If anybody that has any information could let me know it woul be greatly appreciated. thanks
-
Do you need to buy a lift ticket for the rail jam and the slopestyle? If so does that mean i have to buy a lift for both things if i wanna compete in them both? i really hope this is not the case b/c that would be kinda expensive.

You got a 50-50 chance of it working. Some days it does somedays it dosent.

I really wanted to go to the tp forum but i had work and their bitches about giving off. Right now though bears park is really looking good. Theirs only one thing i feel its really lacking and that creative stuff. Its got all its stock jibs, hips and jumps but lets see some creative stuff. Maybe a bonk or two. Ive seen huge spools on the side of cascade in the woods. throw one of those in and put a lip onto it. Put a barrel or a tree stump in the ground and set up a bonk. Mountain creek has some really good examples of this. Those who have ridden there will no what im talking about. But all in all the parks lookin pretty good and i cant wait next year for all the improvements and I REALLLYYYYY hope they close the tubing run towards the end of the season so we can put some nice jomps on there like beore.

I think the judging sucked all around. The kids who won novice were doing 3's and not even clearing the flat. This is a BIG AIR after all isnt it? How does a crappy 3 thats hucked with no grab and then dosent even make it to the landing beat a styled out, grabbed 180? From now on it should be if you dont make it to the landing or If you land on the flat of the jump and just ride away it should be counted as a fall. This was a big air after all and not a lets see if we can huck a no grabbed 3 and land not even half way to the landing.

Yeah def. Lets see it

Does anyone know for sure what the contest setup is gonna be like?

Mid-Atlantic Snowboard Series competitions this weekend
nick replied to BadMrFrosty's topic in Bear Creek
The set up for the contest is amazing. It makes me wish i was in usasa just so i could ride it bright and early tommorow. Its the double hit on the top kicker and then on the second kicker its a double hit but on the very right side they have a 30 ft flat rail. To the left of the kicker set up they have the red rail set up urban style and after the kicker you have your choice of 3 of the nicest rails. Rainbow on the right, upside down rainbow in the middle and gap rail on the left. If you wanna check it out for yourself go onto www.skibearcreek.com and click on the interactive web cam link. The park looks sick. I cant wait to ride it. Hope fully they open it tommorow after the competition. If they dont i think i might die. -
Is this jam only open to professionals? because on the mass website it says theres gonna be 2 classes, amateur( i think 12 and under it means ) and professional. If anybody else wants to check it out its www.snowboardseries.com

The roller coaster isnt as hard as everyone makes it sound. You just have to have the balls to stay on it (not dissing anyone or anything). The key to getting the whole thing is pumping down the transition of the first hump and up the transition of the second. Also try not to move around on it alot, dont be trying to swing out a boardslide or w/e in the middle of the transition b/c you will get eaten alive. Hope that helps

Yeah its def the 11'th and im def gonna chech it out it sounds pretty sick. Lets keep it between me and you guys but i heard that bjorn and erik leines were gonna be there to.
-
yeah i know, haha i found em the second time. Only one slopestyle? why is that, no rail jam or big air. haha you guys should be putting those big booters to work

Does anyone know anything about the dates of any contests up at blue? I check their website but couldnt find anything . Maybe im just stupid and missed it ( most likely)

Does anyone know anyhting about this oakley rail jam up at jack frost? I heard from the guy at mike and matts board shop up there that your gonna have to drop in off of a roll in ( like scaffolding set up) and hit like a really high box or something crazy. I bet theres gonna be insane competition considering the like 2000 dollar first prize purse. Does anyone know if theres any truth behind this and what the box is gonna be like or something?

just got back from big boulder for the first time ever. It was ok. I was actually suprised with how fun the small park was but kinda dissapointed with the big park. Almost all the rails were unhittable due to one reason or another, run ins icey, steepness, rails coated in ice. The jumps would have been decent except for the fact that they had no lip and no landing. I tried to carve out the one lip but it was too much snow to move with just my board. I think they could really make it fun with a little bit of work. I dunno what kinda park crew they have there if any, but if anyone from the park crew up at big boulder reads this im not critacizing you and the job your doing b/c its actually pretty good. Hit me up with a reply though if you do read this.
