pretty sure i saw that blue rail rusting away on one of the scrap heaps around...

I think all of the rails should be made out of biodegradable materials and they should on serve organic foods in the cafeteria and then the lifts can be powered by vegetable oil. Bear can be the most eco friendly resort around. We all gotta do our part to stop global warming...haha

Just so people don't misconstrue what matt is saying here, i dont think he meant "manage" the park, i think he meant help out, fixing stuff, working alongside the other members to come up with some new ideas, etc. Basically what any normal member of park crew would do. I think he feels that since we try to travel alot to other mountains and stuff that we have a good idea of what makes a good park and that we could help bear out. Just so people dont get the wrong idea about what he said here...

Im not sure how the thing she does works, ill let everyone know though if she does decide to do it

I talked to my mom who is pretty good at taking pictures (she actually has a photog job on the side, she gets a page in this little paper around our way) and I told her that she should come up a couple days a year, snap pictures and then put them on her website where you can buy them for like 1 dollar for a 4x6, which is pretty cheap, and then they send them right to you house i think, plus you can get an assortment of sizes. She said she was down and thought it would be a good idea, so ill let you guys know closer to the season if i can remember.

They will prob run it on weekends and holidays just like they did with the double. It really doesnt make sense to run it during the week, alot of times its the same 10 kids there on weekdays and those lifts cost a whole heck of a lot to run. I think what they should do is first off, make the halfpipe area into a hikeable park with a tow rope on the side and then make the new quad freestyle terrain access only. I know it would be kind of a stretch but they could seperate the top of kodiak or whatever it is where you get off the lift and keep the park seperate from the rest of the mountain. This might encourage more people to use the right side of the mountain as well, b/c lets face it, i dont think the right side of the mountain see's nearly as much traffic as the left, but then again that could be just because i never make it over to the right side but 3 or 4 times a season.

I really wanna get on park crew this year, i got some good idea's i would like to see happen.

I dunno man, boulder has alot of repetitive stuff, down rail shorter down rail longer down rail all in a line then box, down box, longer wider down box. and thats the way it is almost all year round. The creative stuff they do have like the channel gap quarter pipe with the barrels on top, they keep for a week and then get rid of it. I think bear has more variety hands down, and some of the stuff that they had long before boulder did, like some of their stair sets are a staple in the park. I STILL dont see anyone trying to build something as sick as the BC stair set (the DC mtn lab for those of you not in the know). Dont get me wrong at the beginning of last year i was doubting bear and digging boulder, but boulder kinda let me down a little bit, their still cool as shit, but bear started bringing some new creative shit that really caught on ( ie.. butter pad, rhythm section, etc..) nobody else around did that stuff till bear did and now their all jumping on the bandwagon. ANNNNDDDDD final point, the lifts at boulder BLOOOWWWWWWW and i guarantee you you will get more runs per time spent on the mountain at bear. GUARANTEED!!! plus the quad wont be six inches off the ground like the lifts at boulder are. I could really keep typing all night on this subject but im hungry so im going to eat...

haha news update brought to you by WTH!!!!! haha Im digging the new color scheme, and they finally got some rails that they have desperately been needing. I hate to say it but i think we got a better variety then boulder now. And with the new quad accessing the park, that means more runs as well. Now if only we could do something about those damn lip nomads always parking themselves where they shouldn't be...

Not really the same but ill be in the park doing video's for bear creek this winter...i could prob find some time to put down the video camera and take some digital stills as well though. I prob wouldnt even charge you guys, we'll see...
-
tried too but they were messed up pretty bad, and with the way they were lit it would get really funky when i brought the whites down and stuff so i just said forget it and left it go. Its only like the handrail shots, and i knew they were gonna be weird when i was shooting them b/c the way the light was that day.

yeah i got to talk to andy about the edits...if anybody knows his email that would be great. I wanna talk to him about possibly getting a job on park crew too, ide really like to work for bear, i got some good ideas and i think i could help out the mountain alot, especially considering im there everyday anyway haha.
-
oh yeah molly, this is the first time ive been on here since the season ended. I got your message, i do have some shots from you but not really a whole lot, not worth putting an edit together, sorry. This year though im gonna try to talk to andy and maybe get like a bi weekly video going featuring all the locals...kinda like big boulder does.
-
yeah we did, i didnt edit it though, matt did. I think we still have a couple copies left (i might be able to get you one if your interested). The one this year though my goal is to make it free and hand out to whoever wants one, hopefully i can do that, we'll have to see. Just keep checking every so often, ill be updating the site maybe with some more sneak peaks as i start to edit the video. As far as the grammar on my site goes i know its not the best but i dont think its that bad. I usually post stuff there in between doing everything else so its kinda quick, and its not meant to be a formal website really, just a place to keep people up to date on our happenings, ill go back and check for some major errors though, thanks for the heads up.

hey guys, heres the teaser for our year end video title who said that??!! im not gonna lie, alot of the shots in the teaser are from boulder but seeing as this is our home mountain i decided to post it here...lemme know what you guys think. www.whatthehuckcrew.com thats actually the link to our website, but its the first post on the there. you do need quicktime to view it, im currently uploading to google video so ill update the post with that link when its done for those of you who do not have quicktime. Like i said the teaser is alot of footage from big boulder but the actual video will have alot more shots from bear...hope you guys enjoy.

Well trick selection is up to the editor...He CHOSE to include those clips. I was there the day they were sessioning the mail box and i KNOW sicker shit was being thrown down. Why he chose to include all those clips is beyond me. That what im saying its like he just threw it together for the hell of it....Its sloppy work

schibbs has been slacking on the edits lately...its actually kinda sad b/c his early ones this year were good but lately they have been crap ( and i mean that with the utmost respect). He's a great filmer/editor but lately he's tried to do all sorts of weird things that are kinda dumb...just stick to the basics.

What did you guys use for your carpet????
