it better be damn good b/c im skipping out on studying for a test i have on wednesday to come up on tuesday...For all of you that wont be able to make it till later in the week i should have a full report with pictures and possibly video. They better not let us down...and they better hurry b/c when i was at bear at 10 o clock pond skimming was still there and i dont think ANYONE was there.

The more and more i think about it, i wanna try to set up something legit like this in the summer. Me and my friends already have a box and stuff so all i really would need was a legit drop in ramp and some carpet. And then if i went and got snow from the ice rink it would melt alot slower b/c it was on the carpet and then even when it melted the carpet would still be wet so you could still ride. I think im gonna try and build a mini deck to make drop in easy...then a down ramp to get speed, a short flat and then then a lip up to a box...shouldn't be to hard and it would be pretty fun if i got it right...

Why didn't you make snow Thursday Night & tonight?

Yeah its pretty ironic that the snow was nicer then it was a week ago as well. Besides the ugly brown color it was actually pretty fast.

I just checked out the prices of the woodward snowboard thing...Its still almost a grand!!! personally idea rather take that grand and build my own kickass carpet setup or even better save up 1000 more dollars and go to either HCSC or COC out west...just my 2 cents. Im sure the woodward thing would be sick but seems almost like a waste. A grand just to ride some carpet setups and trampolines. It might be more worth it if you skateboard or bike but i suck at both so...

You can buy like special low density fiber ( or some other technical term) carpet that actually slides really good. Just do some research, i think theres actually someone on here who has a legit carpet set up, pm them and find out what they got (check in the pictures section maybe).

haha some people need to get lives....but i guess not everybody can be as cool as a little "bitch" like me. You people are rediculous, big talkers on a lil message board. Im done with this shit. Ill report back in a week maybe a week and a half when they close the park to prove you all wrong but for now im done with this stupid argument. -
Surprise surprise...its supposed to rain and snow tomorrow. We couldnt even get nice weather for the last day...damn.

I know i wasnt talking specifically about you either, just the people who seem to think there above those of us who are upset that we cant make it b/c of other things... -

Its easy for alot of you people to call people out and say were complaining, but for those of us that cant make it up to the hike park it is a big deal. You would most likely be whining if you were in the same situation. People are so hypocritical and nit picky on this message board. If people want to whine let them whine...It doesn't effect you. It makes you look worse when you constantly whine about people complaining and stuff, just let it go, this is a message board on the internet, people can speak their minds and bitch and whine all they want, just let it go, jeez....I dont think anyone has called out bear yet and said that they think this idea is stupid and that their dumb for doing it. Im pretty sure everyone is on the same page with this, that it is a cool idea. Some of us have gripes with the time and day situation but you would to if you were missing out on all the fun that is gonna be had... -

and your wrong if you think they DO care. Bear Creek is a corporation, just like any other corporation. Corporations compete all the time, and this is bear creek trying to compete with all the other mountains in there area who are still open like sno and BB. They are hoping that people see that they are trying to do this and will maybe come out for a couple visits next week, maybe buy a season pass next year. Dont get me wrong i think this is very cool that their trying to do this and if it works out and stays for longer then one week maybe ill take back my opinion, but for now dont think that bear is doing this out of the kind loving bottoms of their hearts....but then again maybe im completely wrong, thats just how i see it at this point in time. -
This looks like a good setup...I hope they have enough room to put something like this in...might be tough to hike something this long though, youd get tired REAL fast The thing ide really like to see is a rhythm section with not only jumps but maybe like the metal rainbow thats up top on old cascade thrown in, and some bonks in the middle an stuff, i think that would be really cool....

Im in college, i have class 2 times a week that last till 5:30, and on other days it takes me and hour and a half to drive to bear. So stop sitting there, trying to play god, and prove me wrong. There are other people here in my boat as well. As for that mark I know there is alot of people that would prefer not to drive that far, and if you make the stuff good enough people will come regardless. I think this is a cool idea but i think its going to backfire. The past week i had spring break and was up there everyday on the weekdays, and me and my friends pretty much had the park to ourselves. Your not gonna get alot of people coming out on weekdays. Why not just shut down the caf and minimize costs and stay open on weekends???? I know me and all the people i ride with would rather drive the 20 minutes to bear rather then the hour to boulder on the weekends.

Forum and Flow are dumb...you should be sponsored by a real company like target or HP computers...
-
correction some of us will be boarding, the rest of us will be sitting at school or wherever else, wishing we were boarding.

This pretty much sums up the whole dilema right now...

Dude sorry we cant all be as MATURE as blue mtn riders. Guess its time for blue to change their slogan again...Blue mountain the MATURE mountain. I think its funny that you come on here and waist your time with things that dont even effect you. Maybe its time to sit down and re-evaluate the way you spend your free time. Maybe you should go fly a kite, read a book, or do throw yourself off the top of challenge. All three of those would be better then you coming in here and waisting your time and everyone else's....There are those of us that wish they would change their minds about the weekdays thing and you sitting here whining about OUR opinions isnt gonna change what we think.
-
dude read the posts a little better...thats the problem, alot of people cant make it during the week, and if we cant make it im pretty sure we cant hike it. Your not helping the situation by bitching and moaning about people bitching and moaning. Nobody here is saying that were ungrateful for this opportunity, i dont think i read that in a single post on here. All we are saying that this makes it difficult for some people who call themselves local to this mtn to take advantage of this opportunity. But thanks for the words of wisdom anyway....

Also papasteeze heres a couple edits from the season... this is the newest one i have http://blip.tv/file/get/Cliff6948-FebruaryAtBearCreek314.mov And this ones from opening weekend http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=29...52306&hl=en I have another edit in the works from this past weekend and i was hoping to get a couple more in this season, but i cant really get to bear on weekdays so i dunno if thats gonna happen...
-
Exactly...thats what im saying. There IS alot of people who can only really make it up on weekends. I dont understand why they dont go boulders route and ONLY open on weekends. Wouldn't that make more sense??? I know it sounds dumb and ungrateful but i think it would work out alot better if they did this on weekends. There would be alot more exposure for them b/c people would come to film on weekends on all the cool shit their gonna build. Could someone like BC-Mark please explain the weekdays only thing so at least i can stop worrying about the rest of my season???
-
Does anyone know the true reason for not having it open on weekends??? I mean if it really were that there was gonna be weddings i dont see what the problem would be, the lodge would not need to be open, i dont think we would interfere with the guests, and its not like a couple kids riding the hill is gonna make for "ugly pictures", im think the melting snow in the background will take care of that... I just really wanted to get some good filming time in and 4-7 isnt super ideal for that and neither is only on weekdays when im stuck at school. Sorry if it seems like i was "complaining" i was just really disappointed. I was hoping that i wouldn't have to resort to going to boulder till at least the beginning of April. I mean if there was other issues like parking theres easy ways to work around that. I DO think its cool that bears trying to do this but i think it would benefit them and alot of the people to have this open on weekends as well. Oh yeah and im pretty sure the inverse rainbow got hit by the groomer and thats why its not out. I think theres alot better things we could put out then that to...no offense to the people who like that feature.

Ide like to see a quarter pipe with a high log on it. I dunno if you know what im talking about, BB had one. its just a quarter pipe with a log running long ways across it about 2 feet above it so you can air out and stall. I think some wooden stuff would be cool as well. I havent had a chance to ride the new rhythm section in tubing but ide certainly like to see a cool rhythm section with some jumps and maybe a rail or bonk or two thrown in. Also maybe a butter box combo like one of the short boxes set upwards to the butter box set down...that would be cool. I got some other good ideas that ill post later. My bad, I guess im gonna hear about that one now...

WOW, thats all i have to say. Considering i was not typing an essay and had no need for more then one paragraph i dont see why i needed to press enter. As far as shift goes, dont think i was indenting to indent so...nope dont think i needed that either. Last but not least, im pretty sure that my spacing is pretty spot on, I dont see to many places where i should have put a space in there, actually come to think it, there are none. Im glad that you think your all powerful on here but i wasnt asking YOU to keep bear open on the weekends, I was merely presenting the idea to MARK not MAKI. Therefore i dont see any reason for YOU to be telling me that my idea is stupid or anything else like that. Thanks for correcting me on my grammar, or rather thank for trying, but i passed my english class in high school and if i wanted to write mark a formal letter i would have.

I mean its not like it would cost you anything if theres no lifts or lights running, so why cant you open on weekends...this is when you would be getting the most people coming anyway. People like me who go to college, and even younger kids are not going to be able to make it during the week...You would still be making money on people who came and bought tix on the weekends and you could even clear out all you food for cheap in a little tent at the bottom of the hill...please reconsider the no weekends thing for people like me, i think you would actually be LOSING business if you dont open on the weekends. I know alot of people that wont be able to make it up on the weekend and will instead just wait and go to Boulder on the weekend. I think it would be wise for both you and us (the riders for you to stay open on the weekends) I can also GUARANTEE you alot of media exposure if you open on the weekends as well. Your gonna get alot more people coming on saturdays and sundays to film and take pictures then you will during the week. I really hope all these points persuade you to change your mind about no weekends and if they didnt i can come up with a couple more....PLEASEEEEE open on the weekends, I dont see how it could hurt. Nice dude but i go to college and hour and a half away, im not in preschool anymore, but thanks
