  1. I can get you pics of the board when i get home. Still at school at the moment. It's BTX so it's got banana and magne traction. It's probably got 30 or so days on it, edges and base are still in great shape. I'd say it's got a medium flex to it, rode good in pretty much everything. Board never touched a rail, and was waxed after every couple days. Forgot to mention that it's an 09 Let me know what else you want to know.
  2. They're gone.
  3. Robert, there are many online dealers that are selling last years stuff for much more then half off.
  4. I've heard good things about this http://pmgear.com/product_info.php/cPath/52/products_id/79
  5. Have you ever been to ski big bear? I wouldn't really consider it much larger or better. Prices go up just about every year. 235 is dirt cheap for a pass, be glad it's not double that.
  6. Your right about one thing, i do need to move.
  7. Would you like to guess what the K2 REP was riding at boulder on opening day last year? He also exclusively rides it... I haven't ridden it yet, so im anxious to get on it and see how it is. Do whatever you want as far as taking advice. I wouldn't judge people by what boards they ride and when just because you don't agree.
  8. I'll tell you in about a month when i slay big boulder on a 168 gyrator. Other then that i can only say what i've heard. And the two sources are both the ones that Justin mentioned.

Was thinking the same. Might be fun to get into video. I don't have 600 to spend right now. Tryin to split it kev?
  10. I never really saw any of this squirrellyness at high speed on rocker boards. edit- I pretty much ride rockered boards exclusively now, and i know many people who are doing the same. I work in a shop and me and another guy were kind of the guinea pigs last year as we were the only ones in the shop that got rockered stuff. Now just about everyone in the shop is buying rockered boards this year. I'm not really sure where you are at and what mountains you shred, but if your ever at blue your welcome to take something i have for a ride.
  11. I may have said it backwards, to much thinking in class today edit- nevermind i was right. NeverSummer has rocker between the bindings, then the tip and tail are cambered. Lib has the same thing with there banana 2 camber or whatever they are calling it. Aswell as rome has it in a few boards like the Anthem SS but they also have regular rockered snowboards. Hard to remember everything this year with every company doing something different
  12. As far as the rocker+camber boards go, I haven't really bought into that. While i was out in Utah last year, i talked to a guy who was riding the NS SL-R he had 2 of them one for regular days and one for pow days. He has the 58? i think thats what size it comes in, and he said it liked to dive into the snow unless you were hauling ass. Other then that, i haven't ridden anything from Never Summer, from what i've heard they are bomber as fuck and can take some abuse. I just feel that rocker+ camber in one board kind of takes away the point of having rocker to begin with. Since the board is rockered between the bindings once you stand on it, it's going to be flat, then you'll have the same 2 points of contact driving into the snow just like a regular cambered snowboard, The whole point of rocker was to get rid of that. Nick also look at the different types or rocker since just about every company has there own "version" of rocker technology. Some companies believe in rocker that starts outside the bindings, while others believe in rocker in between the bindings.
  13. Yes a rockered 156 is going to "Float" better then a cambered 156, but with rocker, you are going to be able turn easier and the board is going to ride 3-4cm shorter then it's cambered equivalent. So riding a rockered 160 is going to feel like a 156 and so forth. Try and demo some rockered stuff before buying. If you didn't live so damn far away, i'd be more then willing to let you ride what i have. edit- because i suck at proof reading
  14. Nick, remember that rockered boards ride shorter and are more maneuverable. Go at least 159, you live in Colorado, not pa.

  17. Hestra's measuring system works pretty well and is pretty true. The Seth Morrison glove is very dexterous and it feels pretty damn warm from how lightweight it is. I also have the Army leather short XCR glove which is a bit warmer then the Morrison, but still dexterous enough to do basic tasks. As for being waterproof, get nikwax or the hestra leather balm. Rub it into the gloves every now and then and your hands will be dry all day. The gloves will also be a bit tight at first, just wear them and rub the leather balm into them. They'll stretch and fit perfect. Edit- I'm assuming you need these by this winter, but i know BCoutlet.com did a huge hestra blowout back in the early summer. Some of them were up to 80% off which is damn good. They were all the off colors that no one liked, but i ended up picking up the seths for around 40 bucks they retails for 150.. Give BCoutlet a look, they might have some stuff left over. Edit2- Here's a link http://www.backcountryoutlet.com/outlet/search.html?mv_session_id=kb8WJkXh&q=hestra&x=0&y=0
  18. Look at Hestra, Best gloves out there in my opinion. They are pricey but honestly they are worth every penny.

    New Jacket

I won't buy a jacket if the hood is removable. Guess it's just a pet peeve. Edit- I like my hood and as for being a pain in the ass? How so?
  20. There are plenty of groomed runs but this hard icy shit you keep talking about... Thats a bit harder to find as it's normally much softer and better.
  21. Halfpipe is a waste of time unless they are going to actually maintain the thing. Cutting it once every 2-3 weeks doesn't really work when we have freeze thaw just about everyday.
  22. SLC is probably the easiest but your biggest problem is timing. November is still pretty early for even places out west. They really don't start getting good until January when most of the terrain is open. Going out west to just ride a few runs out of an entire mountain is just a waste of money in my opinion. Wait until Jan/Feb and head out. You'll be much happier.
  23. Lame
  24. I can do that with proper fitting cartels. I feel like salomon's build quality on bindings is pretty sub par.
  25. I've already seen TR's of people making some carefully placed turns on some glaciers in CO, snow was knee deep in the drifts.
