I plan on being there tonight, and Tomorrow during the day. So we'll see how that works out.

I guess this is what big ski companies enjoy doing these days... There not so worried about YOU. There worried about getting sued, and THEM loosing money. So they imply stupid ideas like this. It's pointless. Oh, and going slow and making turns.. You can only get so good by doing that. It takes experience to make high speed arc turns. When going slow you won't really use an edge, you'll just slide. Last time i checked, you want to use the edge, and sidecut to make the turn, not slide and redirect yourself.

No liftlines. This past saturday was the only weekend day i rode, but still no lines. Apparently Targhee was crowded, but still didnt wait in 1 lift line, and that was a 12+ pow day. I may try to hit blue tonight, anyone gonna be there?

I got a R.E.D Frequency. 110.00 Awsome helmet. Has kept my head warm in -25+ degree temperatures. Comfy, and very lightweight.

Im tired, just got home but here's a quick rundown of how my trip went. Arrived sunday afternoon, got some food at teton steakhouse, walked around town for alittle, then back to the room for some sleep. It was snowing when we arrived, so i knew the next day would be good. Monday: Woke up, still snowing, 6 inches fell on JHMR the night before. Had a decent pow day, my GF did really well for her first pow day, and she did some gnarly shit that surprised me. Tuesday: Overcast with light snow at mid mountain. The fog and clouds had sunk into the valley. We headed up to Rendevous, and it was amazing, untracked and extremely smooth, about 2 inches of fresh on top. My gf wasn't ready for that, so i got 1 run on that, and headed down the mountain. Rest of the day i played in the trees to find some left over goodies from the day before. Wednesday: Pretty much played in the trees all day, 40+ at the top, and really foggy. Thursday: Hit up Grand Targhee. 11+ had fallen over night since the lifts had closed. I found pockets of 20+ from wind loading. My GF FUCKING riped for her first REAL pow day, she took some face plants but hey, you gotta learn sometime. Face shots were had all day long, and the bus driver we had was awsome. He was a hardcore skier, which was cool. We watched TGR movies on the ride there and back. Teton pass was a bit sketchy from all the snow, and a Moose decided to jump in the road which was kinda scary, this happened near the top of the pass. Thursday night, come down with a stomach bug. Friday: Sit in and rest up. Didnt' sleep the night before and felt like shit. Apparently it had been going around town, and of course i got it. Saturday: Road the whole mountain. Rendevous was great again. BLUEBIRD. Great views. Found some left over pow in the trees, and saratoga bowl still had some untracked which surprised me. I didn't take to many pictures. It was foggy most of the time, and my gf isn't ready for tree riding yet, so she was off on groomers while i was elsewhere. So not many action shots. Ill put up some stuff tomorrow. Ill be back next year. And hopefully moving out there after College. Jackson is a sick town, awsome locals.

It happens everywhere.. There are always going to be warm seasons. People just blow shit up out of proportion.. 2 years ago in the almighty PNW, Crystal and Stevens were BONE DRY in the middle of January. Just rained even in the mountains. In 1976 Telluride, CO was open for 12 days.. So it's not the end of the world people. Look Stevens and Crystal are going off this year.. There is always going to be a bad season some where. Yes, there is global warming, but El Nino is playing the biggest role this season, which is why its so damn warm. Um.. There is no BC pow in quebec right now. So have fun. Any snow in the woods right now is a death trap, so unless you want to end up with a broken leg, and face. I would stay out of the woods. There is no way Tremblant has recived enough snow to make good woods skiing, snow snakes will be out in full force. Just looked up Tremblants snowfall this year. 19 inches... Have fun with that BC pow.

Sibby, would you mind picking me up from Jackson, on the 14th, and giving me floor space for the rest of the winter?
-
There will be one. With plenty of pictures... which im still awaiting to see from yours..
-
Like everyone else said. When it happens ill believe it... They've been saying this crap for weeks now, and the warmth still continues.. Looks good for Jackson though. Nice, Cold, Snowy.. 4 more days.
-
They broke the record for total snowfall in DECEMBER. Awsome sib, i see the snow ghosts are starting to come alive. Keep on posting pics it's helps us get by.. With our 60 degree days, and 40 degree nights, it's nice to see it's snowing somewhere. 8 more days until i leave for jackson

In 1976 Telluride was only open for 12 days... Nothing to do with Pa, but shit like this happens everywhere.. At some point in time anyway. This time last year blue was fully open, now they can barely keep 5 trails open

I worked 12.5 hours today, so i was oblivious to anything that happened outside today.
-
I've come across the same situation haha. I want to get a digi SLR aswell. I have a 8.1 megapixel Canon powershot right now. Simple point and shoot, but i want better quality, better lenses. The camera for me is gonna have to wait until the summer though. Id say, do the work shop, see if you really like it, then go from there.

Whatever happen to the white christmas you predicted.. Last i checked it was going to rain.. So that is the complete oppisite.
-
They may want to take the windows out...
-
I must say. I like this guy already.
-
Thats good to hear. Hopefully it picks up and continues like it did at the end of last season.
-
DH, how are the resorts holding up.. You guys are getting screwed this year, thus far anyway.
-
I might head up tonight, pending on if i feel like going after the dentist. I might just take the next 2 days off and rest. We'll see.
-
Im not a big fan of T9, but i hope everything works out for you.
-
I was at Blue from about 9:00 to 12. They didn't open until 9:15 this morning. Good to see them blowing again.
-
I don't understand why these questions keep coming up.. They'll open when the weather is cold enough for them to blow for a period fo time, it's not rocket science.

I would say no on PC. If your going to Oootah, stay in SLC, that way you can hit up other mountains, without much of a problem as far as travel. You'll have all of LCC at your fingertips pretty much. You could also look at Washington, or BC like doug said. Whislter would be a good idea. Banff would also be sick, and that hotel doug is talking about is dope.
