I've been thinking about a much longer drive then just cross country. I wanna make it to cali, drive through tahoe. Then drive all the way up to alaska. I heard thats the most beautiful drive you will ever experience.

My friend has done abington to southern cali in something around 45 hours. No stop obviously.

El Nino picked up in CO early. They actually benefit from it.

I'd hope there was alot of detours. PC is about 2200 miles give or take which would take 33 hours driving 65

There was a booter that was i believe measured at 55ft. The 1 after that i believe was 65-70ft You need to relax hombre, ever think he was being sarcastic... He never said he knew anything about lips, or even brought up the subject. He has pride in his home mountain, and im sure you do to, whatever your home hill is...

I have the aK 3L jacket. 3 layer Gore-tex.. Best thing ever made. Lib, is that the school on the north end of the lake near the dam? You can see the lights for a football field from the lake? My house is on the complete otherside in ledgedale, in a development called Indian Rocks if you know where that is.

Wrong. Most resorts in CO, MT, do not get that much snowfall in sept, early october, hence the reason that there are only 2 open, and they are open because they blew snow. A-basin has a few trails, same with loveland, no were near 100%. All those trip reports you see on other forums, are coming from peaks as high as 13000 to 14000 ft high. This was also a freak year for colorado, and Berthoud, and loveland passes have been getting blasted with snow. But resorts have no were near enough snowfall to be open 100%. So your saying weather has absolutly nothing to do with resorts opening? So if it didn't snow and it was 80 degrees those resorts would still open... If they don't have to worry about coverage, why are A-basin, and Loveland only open about 15-20% and it's almost november.. Do some research.

It's only 1 day earlier then last year...
-
They still rely on weather though. If it didn't snow, and it was warm would they still open.. Dont think so. They may have a set opening date every year because of permits, but they still need the weather to help them out as far as snowfall goes... They are just in a better location, with a much higher altitude, so of course they will have snow by the time there ready to open. But weather is still the biggest factor.

I also live near Philadelphia... My mtn house on the other hand is on lake Wallenpaupak, so it's quiet a bit shorter from there. about 2.5 Edit: If you anywhere near there Lib, we could follow each other, or car pool.
-
Jeff, im pretty sure every ski mountain in the world relies on the weather to open... It's still something good to hear. People are happy when the mountain could be open as early as 12/1.. Why such negativity.
-
Im probably gonna end up sleeping at my mtn house and going from there to shorten my drive alittle bit. So instead of 4 hours, it'll be around 2/2.5
-
Don't know if anyone knows this but Blues tenative opening day is 12/1
-
My Jacket was 460. Worth every penny. As far as Bellayre goes. I WILL be there. I won't be sick from work, ill just take off.. One of the perks of my job, i can pretty much get off whenver i want. Jeff you willing to carpool it? Ill meet you at your house, and we could go from there
-
i don't think you can have a directional twin board.. If it was twin, it wouldn't matter, tip and tail, both the same length.. Directional boards will have a bigger nose then tail as far as length goes. So look for that.
-
Probably gonna end up doing that. Since it's about an hour drive to get to blue. So ill be there around 12, everyday i don't have work.
