  1. Hah, so much for the fresh coating of "real" snow. More like fresh coating of real "ice" with some beatiful stuff underneath, just out of reach.
  2. From what I hear bear creeks park is AMAZING. Heres some background, not sure how much of this is true, but its what I heard so I will pass it along. Insurance companies decide what you can and cannot put in your park based on what kind of warning signs you have. Apparently bear creek has massive signs which means they can put just about anything they want inside, whereas CB has hardly anything indicating you are entering a park, hence they can't have gap to rails, liimited jump sizes etc. More than just insanity level, from what I hear, bear creek just has a bunch of stuff to do, at all levels of riding (in the park that is) which is probobly why it so appealing. Blue has super easy, and insanity, CB has super lame, and super easy. Anyways, this all hearsay, haven't been to bear creek myself, its too much of a hike for no trail riding, but for park rats its supposed to be real nice.
  3. Yeah, I decided not to go into work today because the roads were blah. Plus the 1/2 inch of ice covering my car didn't look like it would be too much fun to clean off. I was hoping up in the poconos they wouldn't have had the same icey fate, but it seems the snow gods are just playing with us right now.
  4. With the snow there today, and the grooming, blowing etc. the cover on the open trails was decent. There was only 1 or 2 spots with dark showing, and I dont think there were any bare spots. If they can blow tonight, there should be plenty of cover on the trails that are currently to support the weekend traffic. The real question is will there be any addtional trails, open so things aren't so crowded.
  5. Small flakes are good. Large flakes indicate the start or end of a storm (so I've been told).
  6. These are the people who need their ticket clipped!
  7. As it should be. Equipment is to expensive to have complete strangers, or a friend of a member of the team you coach mess it up because of carelessness.
  8. Any contact. If they run over, I push them as I'm "falling"
  9. I give people real nasty looks the first time they touch my board in line (even though its real beat up as it is). The second time a verbal warning. I haven't reached the third time yet.
  10. He said right under the top sheet, so the top, where people probobly ran over his board in line
  11. If its not gunna hurt the big problem it wont hurt the little problems. Go for it.
  12. Yeah thats what I though, I'm in nazareth/wind gap, which is almost at the mountain, and we haven't seen 2+ inches.
  13. Awsome, where are you located?
  14. If it were me and my equipment, I would send it out. I love being at the mountain, and even a day not there sux, but imagine how many more days you will miss if you screw up your board more permanately. I would imagine any home done repair void whatever warrenty they have. Additionally if they do it, it will be done right. They may use epoxy, but I would leave it up to them. It can't be THAT expensive to ship. It must certainly be cheaper than replacing your board. Just my opinion though. As ski dude said, the base will burn before your epoxy will let up. That stuff is REALLY strong.

    Snow melt

With today/tonights snowfall along with the subfreezing temps CB should be back in decent shape in no time (hopefully).

    Blues park

Aha the truth comes out. Not sure what it was like this year, but seems pretty pimp thus far.
  17. That rail is NUTS. Props to justo for hitting it, and making it look good

    Blues park

Honestly, aside from the drop down rail, everything was fine when I was there. Plus, the park crew came through serveral times and touched up the transitions, so they were perfectly rideable all day.
  19. Just got back from CB. I was there all day, just rode the greens though (with a female ). Anyways, it was snowing all day, and what started out as horribly icey conditions got covered by beautiful powder by the end. Should be real nice tommorow for anyone who can get out there.

    Blues park

They have the lower park, with really easy stuff, then insane stuff up top. If they had something that took some skill, but wasn't over the top, I think thats what people are looking for. A solid 20 ft straight rail would be a nice start.
  21. Yeah you can blame them, there has been one death this year related to snowmobile's. It's their job to keep us safe (ski patrol), yet they make unsafe conditions with their reckless abandon while on the sleds. I understand they are fun, and there times, (after closing) when they can open them up and have fun, but when peoples lives (namely guests, but all people matter [except maybe daveyk]) are at risk, its not time for fun and games. Its business.

    RAIN!!!!!

Blue had lots of patchy sections today, but the mountains was still definately rideable. It also helps that they push the traffic over all their trails.

    storm?

Even the ice isn't horrible, it means its cold enough to blow
  24. Was at blue today, and the snowmobiles where out of control. They were going REALLY fast, and flying through crowded areas like base. It was insane. I hope someone was seriously and thats they were moving that fast, but I assume they were just lead foots.
