The palmer mall has a amatuer athelte as well, but I think those are the only two shops. I think hes further north, but I'm not positive.
  2. Eh, its more than just the jacket and the free riding, I really do want the training and to help people, just couldn't make it work this year. As far as instructers, I know a few who are real good skiiers (don't know any riders who teach). Most do suck though. Then again there is a tiered (sp?) system, most instructers are only certified at the lowest level. I guess certified instructors can get comp, or reduced tickets at most resorts as well though.
  3. I actually wanted to become a ski patrol, because I do want to help people and ride for free of coarse hehe, but I couldn't put in the training time needed this year, because I didn't have any trasportation while I was at school. Maybe next year :-/

What is your area? Try skate type shops, I think they would be more likely to carry dc stuff than a ski shop.

    RAIN!!!!!

LAME. Nile was probobly the best trail they had open. I gues the blacks are the only thing worth riding at this point, maybe the park, we shall see how it looks after all this rain. They may kill the jumps to cover some bare spots

Take your bindings with you boot shopping, if you are concerned. The shop shouldn't mind as long as your bindings aren't dirty. Depending on the shop they may carry flow bindings as well.
  7. Ohh, this is tricky buisness. First I would email/call the manufacturer and see if they will repair/replace it. Espeacially if it doesn't look like you obviously hit a rock (aka abrasions). If the top sheet is seperating thats generally a manufacturing defect, however if you split the board open that is another matter. As far as repairing it yourself, if you have a wood core, I would just replace the board, because any moisture that gets in there will make the board swell and get super heavy, flimsy, not peform correctly etc. If you have a sythnthetic core I would say clean as best as you can, but still dont use anything wet as you don't want to seel mosture in. Epoxy is probobly your best bet, but you still may run into performance problems. You should really try to get it fixed/replaced by the manufacturer, or replace it yourself though.
  8. They have to be certified to instruct, but from what I've seen the certification process is pretty lax, or at least there are certifiers that are lax

This is called heel drag, more common is toe drag, but heel drag can occur too. It means your board is too narrow, you have 3 options. You can just deal with it, put you bindings on with a larger angle, or buy a wider board.
  11. Actually if you checked out the link, they blew since the last time you were there
  12. I think he was asking what features they have up right now.
  13. From what I've seen there arent 20 instructers from CB working at the same time that would be compitent enought to ride marjies, even without jumps
  14. Thats a day old, and it doesn't look like they laid down much more than they had. They obviously didn't show any of the trails, we were concerned with, aka Julius Ceasar and Nile.

    RAIN!!!!!

Thats good news for me, thats what I plan on riding tommorow. Maybe some time in the park as well, depends on how it looks.

I like them so far, I'll have to see how they perform, but they were certainly the right price.
  17. I think its 16 at CB. Its kinda lame though, because you have a bunch of reponsibilities, and you have to do a bunch of training at the beginning of the season. Even after your "certified" or whatever, when you come back you still have to get trained again. Plus, if another ranger sees you screwing around they can turn you in. Not sure about montage, but I assume its a similar dea.

    RAIN!!!!!

I was thinking about heading up tonight, but not with all this rain. Two days in a row off the snow is really depressing . I'm heading up to blue tommorow in the morning. Hopefully the rain hasn't killed the place. It was so muggy though, I wouldn't be surprised if we have heavy fog in the morning, which is even worse than rain.
  19. How much do you want, give me a price range, I might be interested. Is there any chance I could demo it for a run or two? PM me if you don't want to make the price public.

Ok, so I just got back from nestors. They didn't have anything with boa, so I ended up getting a pair of salamons with this cool lace lock system. It's kinda hard to explain, but basically you pull the laces tight on the bottom of the boot and then laces the first loop of the upper part of the boot, then lock that down. So the bottom never comes loose. They are really warm too. Also they fit my bindings perfectly, because they are the same brand, and I guess saloman goes to rediculous degrees to make their boots fit their bindings. Even better, I got a decent boot for 130. So I have some extra money to maybe get some other new equipment, or make a trip up north. We shall see.
  21. Yeah, I saw an old telemark skiier in the sidewinder park. I did a double take, then tried to figure out what he was doing there.

Just talked to my roomate, he said he likes his vans boa system, just said the wheel comes loose sometime, and he has to keep a tool with him. Justin (or anyone else) have you had this problem?
  23. Zaldon goes down the blacks in full tuck, and passed plenty of rangers. He's not as fast as you (well, I'm pretty sure he isn't), but they didn't stop him.

Will nestors or the loft have better prices/selection for boots?
