  1. It's really a lousy thing to do. I understand (not that I agree with) police going in ticket mode. They need to make money, stationary patrol leads to more accurate speed detection, etc. It doesn't make sense for rangers though, people are there to have fun, stop seeking out people to get in trouble. If people are really being that "bad" on the slopes you won't need to wait around for them, they will find you. I know I feel alot less comforatble riding when they are watching me, even when I'm just taking a slow relaxed cruise down a trail. It especially bothers me they target young kids. Everytime I see them ticketing someone I just want to shout "hey somebody gave you a break once", but for fear of losing my ticket I don't.
  2. I think its more than 4. Its seems there are a few that are either "on duty" or take it upon themselves to be "on duty" at any particular point in time. They are the ones standing at the turns looking for people to ticket. Most are just out there skiing/riding.

    P-tex burning?

It's more than saving money, I love hacking my own tools computers etc. It's always fun to break stuff and rebuild it better than before. So yes, its dangerous, but I dont think I will burn down the house, I'm a little more cautious than that. Likewise, I don't think I will burn myself, as long as I'm careful.

What moving parts? It just on a gun the only thing that moves is the trigger, which pushes the stick forward from the back where, its cool anyways.

    Snowboard boots

Ok, so after 2 years my snowboard boots are shot, which really blows because I thought they could take more than 2 seasons but w/e. So, I'm not really sure what I want to get yet, anyone have any suggestions? I ride with strap bindings so thats not an issue. I've heard good things about the boa systems, anyone have first hand experience? Lately I've been riding mostly trails so I don't want something super sloppy, like a park boot, but I do go in the park, so I don't want the stiffest boot on the mountain either. I have a decent amount of cash, and I'm going for quality here so I don't have to get another pair in 2 years (hopefully). The pair I have right now are k2 cirques. They served me well, but they lace straps have started to snap, and they have lost their weather proofing. So, yesterday when I rode my feet were submereged the whole time. The got cold, and full of rashes/blisters etc. Wans't pretty. Any help you can give would be awsome, thanks.

    P-tex burning?

Pics would be cool, but not neccessary. Probobly will look into a real ghetto version with no housing, so as to avoid any kind of problems, or a metal housing with ruber insulating. Not sure yet.

    P-tex burning?

Let me know what you find inside. I tried to find info on modifying/building a hot glue gun online, but all I found was info on building/modifying other stuff that used a hot glue gun in the process . Anyways, its got to b pretty simple. Probobly just a simple cicuit with the correct material to heat up. Just don't know what that material is, and the cirucuit that will work without blowing the power in the house .

    P-tex burning?

I wonder how difficult/dangerous it would be to build my own, or even modify an existing hot glue gun

  13. We were just discussing wisdom teeth on new years eve at my friends house. A bunch of people were saying their dentist wanted them pulled even thought they were fine. Sounds like a the dentists and oral surgeons are in cahoots . Anyways, I got mine pulled, wasn't that bad, I was up and about a few hours later, though I wasn't supposed to be.
  14. So its defintely not x-country riding, only downhill, or you guys are just lazy?
  15. I have sensitive teeth so it hurts when I go, with all the cold water, and proding and poking. My favorite is when they stab you with that metal thing, and then say, oh your gums are bleeding, you need to brush your gums better. No I don't, you need to stop stabbing me with a pointy metal thing. Then the dentist comes in and says the same thing, well it looks like you've been doing a good job, just floss a little bit better. Its smells weird, and I can't ever seem to spit cleanly in the dentist, so I look like an idoit with drool all over me. I really don't like going, but I guess it beats having horrible teeth.
  16. My a-frames whistle if they aren't on my face (aka on my helmet or I'm adjusting them). I thought it was ski patrol a couple of times.
  17. Yeah I've noticed the same thing. I haven't seen them on trails like switchback, usally straigter trails, but I usually ride the sides of trails where they like to go, and I also ride on inside blind turns alot... probobly not the best practice, but oh well.
  18. Blues park was real nice. They had the drop down rail, battleship, hippo, rainbow, flat down, box and mailbox. They also had at least 4 jumps, and a roller. Everything was real big, definitely worth checking out.
  19. Anyone know if they are decent to bike on? Any technical single track stuff or just double track stuff? I was thinking about heading up to ride them this summer, but didn't want to make the trip if it was lame. Especially since I have a network of very nice trails less than a mile from my house
  20. Well, like I said, boxes are more stable, they have a wide base, they don't really need to be buried hardly at all. Rails on the other hand have no stability without snow.
  21. Rails aren't as stable as boxes, plus I don't think BB's snowmaking is at the same level as CB and definately not at the same level of blue. So thats why they can afford to build hits.
  22. I'm like 99% sure thats where the big pocono resort used to be, you maybe right that its just for the poconos in general, but my impression was it was a CB advertisment.
  23. So just say that, there is no reason to hide other people's opinions, this isn't nazi Germany.
  24. DONT CENSOR US! If you feel something isn't right make intelligent coments on why you think it is not right, don't just hide everything you don't agree with.
