  1. It looks it could be alright. Good editing and "feel" though. http://www.solidpowder.com/ has a couple full length videos for free. They have some pretty sick stuff in it. Plus its free, so you can't complain. Also it's mostly skiing.

Maybe there should be a gear tune-up FAQ for the gear section, much like the snowmaking FAQ. Just a thought.
  3. Tell you what we think.... I think the link is broken! EDIT: Works now, sorry. Mid preview at the moment
  4. Went to camelback to try to get my pass today. There was some mis-communication between my parents and me, and long and short of it is, I didnt have proof that I'm in college right now when I got there, so I couldn't get my pass. Anyways, the put the hippo and the battleship in the rhodo. The 20 and 40 are in the laurel. There was no sign of the boxes from last year, but there was like 10-15 foot flat box in the "No parking, no stopping, no standing" Lot behind the learning area. Other than that nothing to exciting. No snow anywhere, my brother was wearing a t-shirt. It was really quite depressing.
  5. Well, I went to home depot today, I was checking stuff out, and if I can convince my parents, I could put together a 10 triple barrel for 25 bucks or so. I just finished talking to them again, and they said there is nowhere to store 10 foot pole, which isnt exactly true, but its there house
  6. why not ME? why not ME?
  7. Well, as it looks right now, I'm not getting anything. My parents won't let me keep the rails in the yard or the shed. "We bought you the camelback pass so you could have everything you needed there, the mountain the rails, the lifts" So anyways, I cant justify a purchase, and or spending time on something, that I have to ditch as soon as I leave school. So until I can convince my parents, no homemade jibs for me
  8. Yeah the forcast doenst look too promising.
  9. *So jeleous* why the camelback forum though?
  10. Hmm, don the joints create a problem riding over, or am in not understanding what they are. When i htink joints/fitting i think of a piece that comes aroound the pipe, mabe a half inch, that would most definately cause problems riding over. Do you have any actual pictures i could see? As far a as that factor x, are they still available, or are they pretty much gone now?
  11. Hmm, well in that case I'll have to visit some friends with farms, they always have pipes laying around. Maybe even a junkyard. Any advice on sanding/painting rails so they dont rust?
  12. Anyone make their own jibs? If so any advice? Right now I'm expecting to spend some time making a drop in, and looking for some metal rails. I have a few pvc pipes, but I'm not sure how well they will work.
  13. I think most of us have had it since the mountains closed last year

Well... you could try, but I dont think they will be up for it. They do have signs that say no loose equipment. They generally have a policy you have to ride on and off the lift with whatever your using... so if you really want to deal with riding on and off the lift with a snow deck go for it

Nope, real base, real metal edges. This weekend when I go home I'll snap some pictures of mine.

Yeah, so I just checked them out and they definately have a real base, no plastic.

CB used to rent them? Are you sure you're not thinking of the ski blades. Either way they would be a sweet gift. Plus, I figure they are a way of getting non-sking/riding people out to the mountain for the first time because the learning curve is so easy. The first time I used them I hit cliffhangor. Not that cliffhangor is insane, but I dont ski, I snowboard, but I could still pick up the skills fast enough to take on cliffy so. Yeah.

Yeah, they weren't skating that well. Plus 40 cm would be pushing it on the overestimate

I believe it is a real base (I dont have them with me right now), but I could be wrong, I didnt really check them out that much to be honest. Just put them on skated around on the carpet, then worked on some projects I have for school. I'll let you know later tonight when I get back to my dorm.

They are actually a bunch for sale on ebay. Just have to wait for price and size. My pair isnt exactly like the one pictured above, if I get motivated I may post pics later, I used a pair last year, its great the looks you get. People think you just have a boot on. I even told one guy a friend cut my ski's as a practical joke, and he believed me. Haha. Anyways they still make them, but they cost a lot new, because there are no U.S. resellers. And by expensive I mean 400. I got mine for 30 including shipping which is all I would pay for a pair. It's hard to take them seriously as a sport, therefore hard to justify a purchase that large. The official site is www.sleddogs.no Its got a few cool videos, so you can get a sense of the product.

Usually they are permanately attached to the boot, but my model the base detaches. They are almost a hybrid between ski boots and snowboard boots, maybe what a softer ski boot would feel like. But they have a unique binding (if you can call it that) setup so you cant use real ski boots or snowboard boots.

I ordered some sled dogs on the internet (basically ski blades only they arent as long. The ski is just the size of the boot). I snowboard normally but they are a lot of fun to just mess around in. Anyways they were only $10 on ebay + 20 for shipping from Canada. So the price was so good I coulnt pass them up even though they were a size and a half to small. Reguardless they got here today, and as it turns out they fit like a champ. I was skating around the carpet a little. They are really great, when crowds get big, or conditions get bad, because its just something different, and they are so manueverable, and easy to learn.

    The quad

I think they looked about as big as they actually were. Keep in mind that video was shot 2 seasons ago. I wasn't there last year, so I can't vouch for how big things got, but two years ago thats how it looked.

    The quad

Why would they drive people away? They are demo videos, its not supposed to be some pro ripping really sick stuff, its just supposed to get a feel for whats available.
