It look really bad, but they have some decent content. The have some videos showing the mountain off a little, and of coarse the webcam, some pictures. Plus they have the standard rates, conditions etc. As far as content goes its decent, it just needs to look nicer.

Or early morning till about 11. Either way those are the only times I ride, which is why I don't mind the crowds that much.

Nice pics. Hopefully it will clear out a little for you. Anyways have fun!

Cross-country. I'd love to freeride but I dont know if my bike can take it, and they only place I have to ride with freeride terrain is Glen Park. There stuff is pretty nuts, I dont think even if I were to freeride I would start with their stuff. I've seen your vidoes though, pretty cool. I might give hits like that a try.

They seem pretty cool, wouldnt mind having something like that myself. Of coarse that would cut into summer mountain biking, but oh well.

Not expecting a whole lot. It's just camelback is my home mountian by convenience. I'd like to see the best stuff possible out of it. If camelback wanted to setup a decent park they could. They could make raceway into THE park. They don't really have enough stuff right now to justify 2 parks. They could fit some nice large hits in there, as well as rails/boxes whatever laterally. Top to bottom CB doesn't have the real estate to do a long park run, but laterally is where the space is. And a wide coarse like raceway is ideal. Now of coarse that means the NASTAR track has to move, and that creates more issues I guess. Anyways getting back on track. They could gap to the 40, espeacially if it was setup with a slight downward angle, same with the 20 and even the flat box.

He also said with the expansion of the pipe, that the laurel will become a beginners park, and the rhodo will be a more "advanced" park. I guess there is a meeting coming up where they find out exactly how the parks will be set up.

I dont know why a particular mountain has to pick up traffic to a certain amount of traffic. Certainly if people are asking for a sub forum, there is interest. I don't see why every sub-forum has to be high traffic. That's just my take on things.

Ok, so this kid down the hall in my dorm is new on the park staff this year. He claims to have talked to someone in charge of the park about setting the park up better. Specifically gettings some gaps to rails and or boxes. Apparently he was told, "if you want to spend the time to set it up correctly, then its no problem." Now before everyone goes off on me for spreading falsehoods, I just want to say he's, not the MOST reliable source. Anyways, I thought I would pass it along, whether truth, exaggeration or flat out lie, it would be nice to see.

On HV's website http://www.hiddenvalleynj.com/winter_snow_report.html they say "SCHEDULED OPENING DAY FOR THE 2004-2005 SEASON IS FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 26TH" Thats the day after thanksgiving. I don't know if that is newer, info than the email, older info than the email, of just PR bs. If its cheap enough though, I might head out, if they do get it open by then.

Well the picture certainly was decieving then. I was looking through that page, and found another surprise. Massanutten, in virginia, where I learned how to snow board has 1,109 vertiacal feet. That mountain seemed pretty small too. Though I never went to the top . Back in those days I was confined to the bunny slope.
-
Hmm... I thought that windam was a larger mountain. Is that really as small as it looks or is the picture decieving. Because it really looks like Blue is a larger mountain that it. EDIT: Actually It looks like it has Camelback's vert with even more runout

Yeah bill I was talking about you. As far as the video goes, I have a feeling it looks a lot bigger than it is. Keep in mind that its being shot at night, so the camera is going to be setup to pick up all the light it can. So something even somewhat bright... (as in the whiteout) may not have been a whiteout in real life. I'm sure there is a better, more technical way of explaining this. Jib probobly has that way. I used to know what I was talking about but its been a while since photo.

All the mountains around here could use a couple of those. If you read the requirements though.... lots of water, lots of compressors, lots of precooling, lots of investment. They would be nice, but I don't know if any mountain around here would bring in enough revenue from weeks in pre/post season to make up for all that investment.

Yeah I figured you were joking, it was still funny to me how fast he shot you down both times.
-
Thats twice now you've tried to rag on skidude and ski999 shot you down!

The yurt sounds pretty excelent... as would a mid mountain hot tub

12/9 10 trails.

I don't know... my sister got an ingrown toenail from one day of marching (as in band). Further review of the other board makes me think that the post was a lie anyways, or at least an exageration.

I take it he was fifty-ing it?

I've had mixed experiences with their staff. It's always been good at the whitehall store though. Atomic I believe he was refering to the people in the snowboard section being all snowboarders, but maybe I'm mistaken

Again your missing the point, they can set the date to whatever they want, but if the weather doesn't cooperate then its not gonna happen. Now don't get me wrong, I want the mountains to open as soon as possible, but if its 50 degrees out on the 30th then no matter what the manager says, they aren't blowing. It's not about planning its about mother nature.
