16" overnight for a pretty deep day today. Sun didn't come out, and neither did my camera, so sorry no pics. Hit a good amount of 10-15 footers, 2 20 footers where I impacted the hard pack underneath. Not the greatest hucking day, but SO MANY face shots. Nick, we are trying to hit the ciruqe tomorrow early before it gets shwagged. If you can get up here in time cool, if not take some runs and we will meet up later in the day. Should be fun regardless.

Glad you guys had some days better than Tues. Knee deep is great times.

It's a shame of all the people who have come to visit, no one has gotten here on a day it snowed the night before. Well, last night we got 4 inches. Not a huge dump, but it makes everything nicer with that soft layer on top. Noxide made his way to WP this morning, and the snow couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. We started our day on a groomed trail with fresh on top. Here is Noxide warming up for the day. The groomed trail was pretty tracked, so we just spent the better part of the day in the trees. They didn't suck. It's snowing again right, so hopefully tomorrow things will be soft enough to start to huck some carcass.

It would be really great if you could get Tanner Halls signature on the goggles. What is the fee for that?

Thats why most people don't like being in the powder ON powder days. It's more work, and it's usually not consistant snow unless you are in the back country or in hike only terrain. I guess I should include out of shape old guys with gapers and racers eh?

I did. My dad was pretty cool about everything, but he was the boss and known for being a bit of a stickler in general. So a lot of my co-workers treated me weird/different. I met a few cool people there, but for the most part not. I'm happier with my working situation now, but there are lots of other factors involved.

Hopefully some of the haters from the poconos get to CB and figure out whats so fun about the place. Did I say coolest promotion ever?

Some resorts are cool some are lame about that. I think most of the places in Vermont you should be golden. If they give you a hard time, just ask if they know of somewhere that is acceptible to park overnight. BC actually has a tight parking lot when they get full, so camping probably wouldn't be acceptable, and if you were parked on the end cutting off traffic I could seem the getting pissed as well.

Gapers and racers like groomers. There are tons of great skiers/riders who most definitely can carve a turn prefer powder by a longshot. Bottom line, you can't huck 40 footers to icey landings, no matter how great you are at carving. You don't want to (although you may still do it) ride 45+ degree pitches through boney terrain on ice/hardpack. Straigtlining hardpack just isn't as much fun. It's sketchy, and doesn't feel as sexy as straightlining 10 inches of blower. Even wet EC snow is more fun than hardpack to 95% of the good riders out there who know how to edge in hardpack.

Consider the audience. Most people who post here will go regardless of conditions. They might complain afterwords how it sucked, but they are still getting after it. That being said, the season is nearing it's end. If you care 1/2 as much about riding as the people here, you will be longing for a rainy day on the slopes come september.

Flamewars are fun, no doubt. Every site needs them. What we don't need is a site dedicated to flame wars, get it?

My comments are not aimed at random non-ski related stuff. Thats bound to happen, and I think there are some cool people on here that I'd like to chat with about things besides skiing. The nonesense I'm talking about is the general nasty attitude people have had towards each other and towards mountains ESPECIALLY within the last 3 months. A well deserved flame of a new user to get them on track with the overall concesus of a board is one thing. It's a totally different matter when the vast majority of a boards topics degenerate into the same pointless bickering. As members we generate the content. Mods can only moderate whats given to them. I'm saying we need better core content. The side banter is fine, as long as there is legit content. There are hobby clubs which are about socializing and drinking, and there are hobby clubs that are about the hobby, where people also happen to get together and socialize and drink. I'm just saying the site would be 10x's better if there was MORE skiing/boarding. We don't need less socializing for it to happen.

Thanks. When I get back home in the spring and I don't have to use 3 different computers and a jump drive to edit, upload and post then I'm going to put a bunch more of the scenics I have.

There's plenty of stoke to be shown from the PA hills too. There are so many guys on here that kill it in the park. A few folks throw edits up which is awesome (especially if you aren't on lousy computers like I am and can actually see the vids). Pics of people in the park are still cool though. It helps your riding so much to see what you look like, and how you can better style things. Plus it gets everyone else amped on riding. There's also racing and family/friends stoke to be had. We just need more of it.

My bad dude. Should have got a pic of you on the cirque. To be fair I didn't snap any pics of Daves nutso line either. The snow at the bottom of the cirque was good. Untouched usually is. I want you to see a day when the bump trails are actually fun to ride because the bumps are soft and the troughs are largely filled in. Days like that make some of the tree runs so outrageously good. When you are landing in untouched thats when you know its on. It's dumping here right now, so this weekend may be good if it stays cold.

Wow. best promotion ever? Doug better get on this or I'm calling his bluff that he only likes Blue because of the short travel time.
-
Thanks. I'm trying to bump the good threads and get views/replys. If people on this site want the nonsense to end we need to let the lame threads go away.

Here's some stuff I've (and some friends) been doing the past few days. Here's shadows straightlining a chute. A little coolie which dumps out on some drops. I pussed out on the drops though. (photo by Lindsy) Lindsy on a cliffy in bounds. Lindsy on a pillow line in bounds. Shadows introduced me to Matt. Matt likes out of bounds pillows. I aired out the same section (photo by Matt).

Cool with me. Hopefully the snow will be a little better. I want you to see riflesight or mushroom patch on a good day.
-
Guess that means WP on thurs? If the snow is good I might make you play photo guy for a mission or two.

... or their marketing makes it seem like a fun gimmick because thats what sells in the snowboarding world. Look at leg bags. I've never ridden one, but I've only heard good things from good riders. I've also heard really awful things about their skis.
-
And injury prone, but his toughness balances that part out. He told me he's shooting for the school record in shotput this season. I don't suppose you do any track and field meets eh?
-
I seem to remember a crazy snowboarder once straightlining a groomed WL.

No, V the mini series. I grew up in a family of sci-fi fanatics. I believe they had the entire season taped when it re-aired in the late 90's. I don't think I saw all the episodes, but I saw enough.
