Thats nice. Unfortunately lots of times it will slide. Which has been the case for our terrain. The snowpack was so sketchy for a while because of ongoing wind and snowstorms. Finally things are starting to settle and the terrain has been opening up. I guess it's just coincidental that A-Basin opened montezuma bowl around the same time with no new snow within the past week or so.

A. You are wrong. B. Even if you weren't wrong you need snow after explosives to actually ride on. No sense letting your entire base slide to the bottom of the hill in a super lame debris field.

I'm sure the picture you posted is hilarious, but I can't see facebook images. So I'm claiming myself as the winner of this thread until you host the picture from somewhere I can view.

Doesn't anyone have cameras? Sorry not trying to pick on you in particular 'kitten.

My skier responsibility code napkin says... 1. Always stay in control, and be able to stop or avoid other people or objects. 2. People aheadh of you have the right of way. It is your responsibility to avoid them. 3. You must not stop where you obstruct a trail, or are not visible from above. 4. Whenever starting downhill or merging into a trail, look uphill and yield to others. 5. Always use devices to help prevent runaway equipment. 6. Observe all posted signs and warnings. Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas. 7. Prio rto using any lift, you must have the knowledge and ability to load, ride and unload safely.

I don't know about A-Basin but we have North, NorthEast, East facing terrain that opened for the first time and it wasn't becuase of lack of snow. I'm guessing Montazuma bowl is in the same situation, but I haven't been there.

Camelback on peak days is a wild time. You're sure to run into some people who camped in the bar slamming shots for 2 hours and (sometimes the same group of people) the group who hasn't skied for 3-4 years. The lines are awful, but if stay as a single and go to the less busy side of the quad waits are usually shorter than 20 min. Trails get packed and anything without a diamond on it is a death trap. The trails get so beat that by 4p.m. 50%+ of the terrain is unrideable because of whoops and icey chutes down the trails. It's super fun though, and if you have a season pass you should make a day out of it with some friends.

I thought this thread was dead last night, but wait theres more... Of course I figured by now burton71 would be speaking exclusively in movie qoutes.
-
... trick question. The FS rodeo. It's just as easy and way more stylish.
-
Hey chill daver. We should be so lucky as to have someone named "burton71" impart us with the wisdom of what is stylish and what is not. Plus he gave me some killer advice on which movies to watch to find the true meaning of style.
-
If you could I'd be forever greatful. Once I know what style is maybe people will give me some respekt and won't say I suck nuts anymore. Please recommend some where riders where headphones though. I've always wanted to ride to tunes but I never knew how to before. Surely if I see a vid I'll be able to figure it out.
-
Oh man, I got totally PWNED. I'm gonna go watch some snowboarding videos and discover the true meaning of style.

Getting popcorn re-reading this one and awaiting the return of DH.

I did post the conditions and pics. Conditions are bad with fresh snow and ungroomed runs. The high today was supposed to be 1 degree/-14 degree (base/top). I don't really know if they were since I was trying to nap all day, but it sounds like if you want to come out here you should wear some mittens and maybe two pairs of jeans instead of just one. I think I'm going to invest in some big black curtains. Those darn mountain peaks reflect too much light.

Very sad to hear. Vibes++

I'm not sure what you mean, but if icicle stoke doesn't work for you, then I don't think any GR I post will make you happy.

So I've been living in Winter Park for about a month. I've taken a few pics and finally got motivated to get to the base area to post them. When I arrived at the base this is what I saw (ok so this picture is too big maybe I'll resize and post later). I was pretty dissappointed everything looked ungroomed but the super lame wind blown race course. This was gonna be a long winter... [Missing Picture here] Luckily I met some super cool locals who said they would show me where the killer courderoy stash was. Here I am resting from probably about halfway down the hill next to the locals. I made them stop because they were ripping way to hard for me to keep up. After we started up again they cut hard into the woods probably to the cord stash. I got lost and somehow ended up here. The jump was totally lame, and I'll probably never risk injury again trying something so completely gaperish as that. After that I pretty much called it a month since all the riding was totally beat with fresh snow and ungroomed runs. I hear in the spring they have better grooming so I'll probably just nap for a while till that happens. Since most of my time will be spent indoors until the grooming improves here's a picture of my window in my bedroom. Since I'm a janitor I should probably clean the smudges. And also here is the a picture of my living room with a might spruce (I think) christmas tree. Every once in a while I go into town, which sucks because I have to actually snowboard to get to my car. Sometimes I poach the race trail so I can get there without riding bumps or trees. This is a picture all the tourists (me) take... There are better pictures which I choose not to share because I hoard stuff like that. Maybe if you guys are super cool I'll post more.

They also attract more people than fixed grips.
-
Just bend them. If you mess up the brake no worries, you just buy the wider set. I've heard bending them after mounted is way easier.

Sick pictures. Thanks for taking the time Toast!
