I understand the orginal post. I don't understand the need to have the following conversation almost verbatim over and over: S: Bode Crashed. R: Bode Rules. S: Bode is a horrible Role Model. R: Progression. (Or some freestyle reference) F: Random uninteresting flame S: Don't tell me who I should be a fan of. I don't get the need to argue with the same people in such a redundent fashion. If there were more people involved then maybe I get it. At least there are multiple and changing points of view in each discussion. I'm not going to delete the posts. Even the really nasty ones because it seems the three of you thrive on this stuff, and if you didn't want the nasty comments you wouldn't participate in this stuff. So, your welcome (under my watch anyways) to keep up with what your doing. My point was that it's lame that I'd like to get the news, and maybe a comment or two from some people who know whats up about the event or WC in general. Your comments about the relevance of results in ski racing this week mean tons more to someone like me than hearing bode is a bad role model. I don't follow racing enough to know the significance but I already have my opinions about his value as a role model/ski icon.

Hey toast, I really want to see your pictures. Any chance you could put up an album of all your JH pics somewhere besides facebook or myspace? Pretty please?

Only the exact same comments are made as previous seasons. He's still a hit or miss skier, who right now seems to be missing more than hitting. Your opinions on the matter are well known, as are FGT's as are PS's. We don't have a large fanbase for WC racing here, and the result is the same played out dicussion/argument everytime Bode comes up. I don't care that threads are created about the guy. I like to hear how Bode, and the U.S. Ski team for that matter, are doing. I just wish you and the others wouldn't immediately go down the same conversational path every single time. The flames aren't even that funny or clever. It's just boring. Maybe it's just me though.

Uh, tell your friend to buy some boots. If you own anything it should be boots. I don't think CB will rent just boots but I'm sure there are shops that will in the area. But again, buy some boots.

IDK Papa. It's always weather permitting. I have no clue what the weather is doing in PA but I keep hearing that snowmaking temps just aren't happening, and building the pipe totally out of snow means a ton of snow. Thats a far leap from poorly cutting/rarely cutting the pipe.

I hear steamboat is super fun and breck is a real pain with traverses. Also, keystone's big attractions are the huge park features and the night skiing. Shadows said he had a real good time at loveland also.

Hard wet pack? I'm pretty sure it's gonna be hard or wet, not both.

Any chance you can host them anywhere besides facebook? I'm blocked

Which is why this thread is now closed.

But that same resort had two people fall from a lift chair during an emergency shutdown about a week ago. Both the fall and the shutdown were due to high wind gusts.

Yeah but its way easier to ride with a cast around your wrist rather than one past your elbow. P.S. Tree wells kill. Stay away from trees after big dumps.
-
Pros: Ski rides there Cons: Not nearly as many gapers as Shawnee.
-
There is extremely limited backcountry terrain in PA and a normal back country rescue will cost lots of money anyways. So I say poach when there is snow. Just be aware and ready to accept the consequences. Oh, and don't get caught.

Yeah, like Peruvians, but toperuvians are from rich families and spend there summer vacations working at ski resorts in colorado bored out of their minds.

Your thinking about it too much then. Boomer you pretty much have to turn on unless you a straight lining nutcase like my brother. The headwalls on cannonball are so short though, you just point to an empty spot downhill take the compression at the bottom of the headwall and manage your speed on the flat part if it's an issue at all. Unless you like super small turns those headwalls are only good for one turn anyways.

I think I'm going tubing for a lodge employees party. There will be many hot and young toperuvians to sneak beer to in return for favors. Should be a good time.

We pull the plug on our high speed lift above the treeline probably 3 times a week here. Thats above the treeline though, and at the highest point for miles in all directions. Usually we only get gusts of 60-70. I'm confused how CB consistantly gets these wind speeds in a tree filled area when wind exposure is only from one direction. I'm not saying you're wrong about shutting down lifts, but as was discussed in another of these threads, I'm just curiuos why CB has to shut things down so often and others do not. I don't ever remember it being that windy on the days they did shut it down due to wind. I'd really look in to the calibration of the instruments being used, and how to better wind protect the lift.

Whiteface is expanding to the peak on lookers right for next season. They are adding a new chair and a couple trails which should add to the acerage. As far as feeling like a downstate area... I've never had a view as good as the one from the top of the summit quat anywhere. Including here at 12,060 with a 360 view.

You will have far more and far better back country accessible at that point in time.
-
Not sure if really had a point. I have a friend who is a very experienced backpacker who did tucks much earlier in the season for his first time. He is in outstanding shape and said it was the hardest thing he ever did. Then there are the folks on time for tucks with beer bellies who go when I'm planning and say it's a healthy hike, but nothing to get worried about.

0o0o0o0 A good 'ol fashion flame war. New rules. 1. No slamming people for being racers. Believe it or not, it's quite challanging and you probably aren't half as good as you think you would be. 2. No slamming people for being 14. Believe it or not, you were 14 at one point, and it probably sucked because there wasn't a place like the interwebs where you could voice your opinion like a real grown up. 3. No slamming people for being old. Ok, lets see how this goes.

Yeah that would be cool. I can only assume you already know this but just in case... It's a healthy hike to the lean-to and you will need to carry everything you need including cold weather bag, stove, food(there is a water source), dry clothing etc. I'm told it's good form to bring beer for the caretaker.
