  1. So this was fun right... closed
  2. The part about fixing the coping to the box is unclear. Perhaps rewording and/or including diagrams or pictures would be helpful. The box frame construction was pretty sparce on details as well. Even though I understand your desire to keep a certain level of abstraction from details, specific examples might be nice. Perhaps a diagram of a basic box. Perhaps details of the box you built (I think you did...). I didn't check the in site links perhaps they have that info. If so, maybe just some quick captions for each link about the value of that particular link. Just a thought. Also, it's kind of assumed your audience has some basic handywork background. This may or may not be the case. I would include a warning about using pressure treated lumber, as far to many people don't take this stuff seriously enough. Also, a pro's con's table for the various metals to use might be cool. More later... probobly.
  3. Is any of this available for pickup? If so, where do you live?
  4. Cleaned up the thread and pinned it. If you could, please link back to the FAQ: FAQ for the rules so people understand how to post in this FAQ thread.

    Ride SPi's

Just put some sp3's on my rental this past weekend... immediately followed by the obligatory carpet nose/tail pressing session. Feels like it's gonna be a TON of fun to ride. BTW, peep the post count
  6. So the rumor I'm hearing... Laurel is no more. The pipe will move to sunbowl (the bunny hill between the two lodges. The Laurel park will move to oak grove, and the rhodo park will be the park pass park. Should be intersting...
  7. ... interesting. I still think I'm going to work at shawnee to ride their park this season and purchase a pass at CB. Time will tell, considering they improved the pipe this past year by widening it, I wonder how much better it will get?!?! From my experience CB has consistantly had a better pipe than anyone else in the poconos. Although, to be honest, I've only been to BC once, and their pipe looks like if it was groomed properly (it was mushy spring stuff when I went) it could be a real good time.
  8. Uh, they played other stuff too... I distinctly remember hearing nirvana and the white stripes at some point, micheal jackson at least once. I don't ever remember hearing a radio DJ come on (at least in the park). Honestly I don't mind hearing music like the stuff they played this year, I just hate hearing ANYTHING in a constant rotation.
  9. Maybe this is a stupid question, but why not just pick up a pair of regular snow boots then. They won't be stiff, they will keep you warm, and they won't cost near as much. Plus they are designed for what you want to do, romp around in the snow, and shovel and stand there looking useful.

    What to do

I'd never pass up a chance to ride in the middle of june....

    My promo

Could you enlighten me. The implication, as I see it, was that since I do not have that kind of background, I don't or shouldn't have the priviledge of listening to 'gantsa rap.'
  12. Just cleaned up this thread a bit, could everyone involved in that nonsense knock it off? You know who you are.

    My promo

Agreed on both counts, but my musical tastes are hardly anywhere near the ski industries (I think).

    My promo

Nice... I could have done without the several minutes of nothingness for the bonus footage.
  15. It's leening against my bedroom wall (within eyeshot at the moment). It hasn't touched a pair of bindings yet. I'll probobly buy a pair from my brother for super cheap, and just use those for the Rental. I know as soon as the bindings go on I'll be messing around on the carpet for at least a half hour. ... I can't wait to get it on the snow!
  16. I picked up last years (05-06) Jeenyus Rental. My wish list at the moment includes... Bindings Gloves Snowpants Helmet Goggles Boots So pretty much everything but thermals and a jacket I'm looking to replace. I'm pretty much looking for BARGAIN pricing though . As I can make do with my current gear (except glvoes) until something finacially worth while comes along.

    Camcorders

I'm wondering about the validity of this statement. While actual file size may not matter, there are other components that go into quality video captures. I'm hardly an expert in the field and I could be WAY off. But crap in = crap out. Which is to say... I'm pretty sure there won't be much if any difference between the footage from a $3000 camera put through mpg (or similar) compression and a $1000 camera (again compressed for internet). However, I would take a guess the difference in the lower models goes BEYOND simply higher pixel counts and sample rates. I guess to quantify my statements... a cheap camera that provides poor contrast (reguardless of lighting) will have poor contrast after compressed. However a camera which makes things "pop" will (to some degree) still make things pop when compressed. Make sense? Again, I'm not sure how different the models are, and I really know little about videography. My expertise is in computers. (I've also spent some time learning/doing digital audio recording which is really my basis for my comments above. The a/d conversion parallels, in my opinion, between audio and video).
  18. Wait till you hit some snow, thats where things become CRYSTAL clear. I've found my subie far out handles the explorers (4x4) that I've driven in the snow, if that is any kind of indicator.
  19. By all means if anyone has stories I want to hear them. I certainly don't know much about ski racing, so the above comments don't mean a whole lot to me. I guess if you've been at the top of your game though, you have to have SOME stories.
  20. Thanks for the link! One of those links has a full video, almost an hour long. Solid riding all around. Got me jonsin' for some snow.
  21. Agreed, think before you post. I don't mind editing soon after, as sometimes there are simple corrections, mispellings, fixed links, additional info... Changing after the conversation is underway breaks the thread. Maybe we can do away with moderator editing while we are at it
  22. We (staff) dicussed this a while ago and decided against it. I'll bring it up again, (I personally agree with you on this).
  23. http://www.paskiandride.com/forums/index.p...indpost&p=83990 ^^ This is what is being discussed. Perhaps there is another thread somewhere else with additional info. I don't see any claims in here about being a 27 point racer in the above thread. Maybe they never existed, maybe the magic edit button had something to do with it.
  24. Sorry to hear that '999. She sounds really cool. It's a shame :-/
