I think we got more speed bombing the cruiser on the skiers far right at montage than zaldon got bombing down WL. Duration is just as important as pitch. My money's on montage though, maybe if you bombed from the top, of the mountain, and pumped through the headwalls of cannonball thats the fastest...

Just to add... prewinding can help, don't over ephasize on prewinding, but it can "force" you to make the right moves. After that there's not much I can help you with unless I see how you ride. The blue mountain freestyle program would probobly love to help you get spinning! Or maybe you can have someone from here that regularly rides at blue to help you out for a day.

I would have given it a go... why not???

Start on small stuff, just trail merges that come to a point, jumps on the sides of trails, or real small stuff in the park. Start with 180's. Rotate your shoulders and hips, don't just carve your skis through a turn. Spot your landings, and look over the shoulder in the direction you are spinning. A skier can probobly provide more information, but those are the basics.

Mine were water proof till a 12 hour day at blue. They got waterlogged and haven't held up against any moisture since. It's not like I can scotch guard it either, the liners just sponge up water now. I've put plenty of very wet long days on my salomons and haven't had any of the same problems...

Get enclosed racks or use racks in combination with bags. Ski/snowboard bases don't like road salt.

My k2's sucked. The boots started to collapse around the ankles, the lacing loops broke, they lost their waterproofness and get drenched even after a short day of dry riding, and they never really perfomed that great to start with. They did have real comfy inner lining but that was about it. I think they were k2 symbios.

Quicker response isn't really desireable in the park. Thats why park riders keep their highbacks all the way back and don't like things like risers. Quick exagerated movements are bad news on rails. Even for free riding, strapping down super tight isn't necessary. The security issue is a mind thing, you just have to trust that your bindings are working without feeling them through your boots. Lots of people go through this struggle (myself included), you just have to learn to loosen up a little.

I've seen that kid 450 onto the flatbox at CB. Passed him later while he was going down marjies with ski poles. Crazy dude...

I dig my salomons alot. Super comfy and fit like a glove inside my bindings. My boots are a stiffer free ride boot, so I can't comment on the f20/22 models. If your feet are going numb you probobly are cranking your bindings WAY too tight, or there is some other issue. Alot of people dig on their gear because they haven't tried anything else... are you sure thats not the case with your friends riiding the flows? If you felt they were too heavy they probobly were.

Sounds like risky business. Best to take it to a shop unless you really know what you are doing...

Well there's no reason one can't exist in PA. The only reason they are in selected locations is that is the only place that feels like building them. 75 feet is huge though. If I were in touch with the blue mountain park crew, I would probobly take you up on that bet....

Congrats nipples!

I'm confused you said that in fact there had been some gate training during practice. What was so different about these gates? It seems to me if the gates training he had during practice (though limited) didn't prepare him for these "different" gates than I don't know how more of gate training during practice would have helped. Which isn't to say there shouldn't be more gate training... simply that I'm not sure I understand or agree with your point. Anyway glad to hear he did well.

Maybe both.

Whats the point of a 75 footer. As evidenced by this thread few people are clearing the 53 footer. That should be a ton of fun to watch people nuckle out on ice though....

Just let karma do it's thing... Seeking revenge especially over meaningless stuff like having 11 cents thrown at you is just asking for trouble.
-
She threw the money at you? If I were the manager I wouldn't have lectured her in front of a guest, but you better believe I would have given her a long talking to. I wouldn't be surprised if she gets fired.

Perhaps they should add the breathalizer to the drug testing for Alpine Racing... Drug tests are to keep the athletes safe, I can't imagine racing down the mountain wasted is exactly the safest thing either.

Uh, you have it backwards... without customers there would be no jobs and no mountain. Thats the whole point. YOU as an employee should be doing NICE things for the CUSTOMERS. Thats what you're there for. Customers being nice to employees just for showing up to work hahahahaha. There are other mountains. It's not like if CB went out of business there would be nowhere to ski/ride in the area. I'm not saying employee's don't play any roll, but you get paid and comped tickets, thats your compensation for having to work, and be nice to guests. You don't like it, quit, I'm sure there are others that would love to have your job. Oh, and Papa... just out of curiosity how do you know those spots are merely former handicap spaces. I've only ever seen handicap cars parked there, and for the 5+ seasons I've been going to CB those spots have never had the signs taken down. I doubt the employee was trying to be rude, I probobly would have told you the same thing as a heads up so you didn't get towed without a warning. Did someone in managment clue you into their de-handicapping or are you just assuming that because of the nature of the sport no handicap spots are needed?

The black diamond to park analogy doesn't work. Parks have a BIG problem with begginers ruining it for everyone. No doubt there are beginners on the diamonds but there doesn't seem to be as many, causing issues as large. If a beginner falls on a black, you ride around them, if they fall full right after cutting you off for a jump, you can't hit the jump. What can park passes hurt. They will be a hassle, although the benefit of a park passes far outweighs the hassle. I think the video makes the most sense. Just something to get you thinking about ettiquete. I don't think it should cost more to ride the park. Whoever made the comment about downhillers having right of way forgot to mention that when starting or merging on a trail (that would include people sitting around waiting for a feature) you look up hill for other people already coming. All in all it's just being more aware of your enviroment.

^^ haha best dead image ever.

Zaldon is injured and won't be riding for at least a week, possibly longer.

I think I'm gonna be there, hopefully I'll met up with the dude and metz. Grey helmet/jacket black pants, blue mittens. I snowboard.
