Err, I thought the concept was to create contact across your whole foot as opposed to two straps. Thats what strap bindings try to do with wider straps. It's a comfort issue. The ease of strap in/out is just a bonus. I've never used a pair, but the concept seems resonable.

My pass is no good on saturdays till 5. I probobly won't be there.

Talked to my sister today who is going to be an instuctor. They said friday opening, they will "officially" announce it on monday. They plan to open with 12 trails. Thought I would pass it along...

Did any one catch the race on TV today?

Except my point is validated by blue mountain opening. Camelback had more hours with their guns on, and they boast that their snowmaking is so great, lets see the results. Apparently the results are lots of coverage in their daily pics and a closed mountain. As someone already said in this thread, and they (CB) may have mentioned it somewhere, they could have opened but wanted to wait till more terrain would be available to open.

No need to apologize. All in all it worked out. If my parents had been more into sports I probobly would have never got interested in music.

... I was born into a family of Star Treck and Star Wars geeks/dweeb/nerds. I used to dig that stuff, but not so much anymore. Different strokes for different folks. If your not into the snow scene living with snow people really sucks too.

Uh, base lodge isn't open. And good luck with that lesson the grass at the bottom. There is a small bunny hill at the top, her lesson will likely be there... assuming there will be instructors there to teach.

All the hype around Elk.... I was gonna be real mad if they went out of business before I could give them a shot.

Camelback is disappointing with their opening this season. Yes, I would love for them to open even with just one or two trails. Yes, I would love for them to open even with bad conditions. Early season riding isn't going to be great, but it beats not riding at all. Blue had a great opening day today. So much for the new owner wanting a "playground." Camelback started their blowing early this year, things were looking up, but in the end nothing really came back to the customers. Thanks camelback

Nope. There is hardly any snow anywhere besides the three trails that were open (easy out, main street and chute?!?!). The conditions started out a bit hard, but softened up by 11 and continued to soften and bump up as the day went on. By 3 or so there was some hard pack on chute but nothing too difficult. Most of main street had been skied out and it was bumped up pretty bad. Made each run a real leg burner. I got 27 runs in 6 hours. The slow lift was kind of a drag, but a long lift ride gave time to let the legs rest I suppose. Lots of PASR people were there so that was cool. Some pretty fast riding going on as well. Sorry I didn't get to chat more with everyone. The guy I was riding with is a friend from school, he was pretty impressed by the sking the PASR guys were doing

Good times... Half price lift tickets. So the price depends on how long you ride.

Shall we put a McDonald's halfway down the hill while we're at it

Err... I thought they closed Rocket for race practices?!?!? I thought they used the nastar area for closed gate training?!?!?
-
I sure hope not... I don't think I would want people looking for PCP breaking in to my place of employment.

Agreed on the rain, if I didn't have class today heading up to NY would be a real possibility. That canned food day is real tempting... I'll be on my way to whiteface that day, could be very worthwhile.

Half price, but I'm poor so thats just how things work...

Benevolent... I don't know about that. I hate on plenty of people. I understand crashes, coming close to people etc etc. It's sking, not everyone is in control all the time. Weird things happen. I don't understand going out of your way to endanger people. It wasn't just scare, it was endanger. If he lost his edge on that turn, or I started my turn earlier than he anticipated I would be in the hospitol right now. I don't care if you make poor decision that endanger yourself. I think you have the right to live your life how you want, but don't endanger me. ... I also don't like people who chew gum with their mouth open.
