  1. I don't think it works quite like that. Camelback has certain cutoff days for how much refund you get. I don't recall what they are, or how much you are refunded off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure I remember there being many days between each cutoff point. Enough days in between each cutoff day that the per day refund rate you described would not be the case.
  2. Glad to hear everything worked out nicely. Did they notice you had ridden any rails, or did you get off scotch free?

    Ranger Interview

Speaking of getting pulled over... I got pulled over last night for one of my front headlights being out. I have a week to replace it or $180 of mine will belong to pendot. The cop was cool enough I guess, he was a real jerk at first, but then I started making jokes, and he saw I was just a college kid on my way back from the mountain he lightened up. I would tend to agree that the rangers will try whatever is possible to ticket, they are real jerks when it comes to kids as well.

    Sunday

I plan on getting there by 8, and making laps on the front 4 if anyone is going to be getting there early. Should be there all day, if anyone wants to meet me later in the day pm me.
  5. My cousin live at Jackson Hole, I'll have to ask him about Corbet. Anyways, I can't imagine they would make claims if it wasn't really steep. I imagine its possible it even gets that steep, but not for long. Proboboly a roller and they measured the back side of it or some such thing.

I like that back to the mall bit. Thanks for the legal info.

    Ranger Interview

I don't mind giving a statement, going to court or whatever. I honestly don't want to see any uneccessary, but successful lawsuits against ANY mountain. It's just there are some times when, I really don't want to deal with that. Last night was one of those times. 9 times out of 10 I would be more than happy to deal with that stuff. Just want to know about the other 1 out of 10 times. Again, its not a matter of whether or not, I'm legally bound to give a report, but whether or not the rangers are authorized to clip me if I don't.

    Ranger Interview

Well sure there is no legal obligation, but if I'm not complying with rangers, they may feel it is neccessary to clip my ticket. Just not sure. No doubt they would be more than happy to clip it since I'm a season pass holder and they already have my money. Oh well, it was the first, and hopefully last time I get stopped for a conditions report "interview."

    Ranger Interview

I don't wear outfits. I wear clothing, and it's pretty generic. The only unique things are my board, my beard and my helmet (with the PASR stickers) and none of those are changing in the near future.

    Ranger Interview

I am HORRIBLE at pipe. I'd like to think I'm decent elsewhere, but that was maybe my 10th time in the pipe ever. I was really sketchy and even fell when I aired out and spun, which is when he called me over. I really thought I was in trouble for almost hitting this guy in the pipe who fell, but I was already on the wall when he went down. Anyways, I guess I wasn't the guy who fell, so maybe I'm not the worst guy in the pipe.
  11. So last night, I got stopped by a ranger because someone fell in the halfpipe and got hurt and he needed conditions reports from at least 6 boarders. I didn't think much of it when he stopped me but the whole thing took about 10 min. which got me pretty pissed. Anyone know if these are optional, aka will I get clipped if I refuse to give them a report. I really don't mind helping out when I have the time, there were people waiting for me though, and I really didn't have a lot of time at the mountain, so I wanted to make the most out of what time was available. In 10 min I could make 2 runs. Anyways insight into this would be helpful... for next time.

    twigs

I think it did break. They way he described it to me, it sounded like the way a splinter gets under your skin. Just imagine the splinter is not just tiny piece of wood, but a twig instead. Wouldn't surprise me if the twig found an existing gouge from rocks though, and just wedged itself in there. He was riding walls that weren't packed.
  14. BTW, why is the topic title "a little trespassing at CB"? Was there some ticketless skiing going on? Or just a reference to the fact that you were outside your home mountain.
  15. Paridise is longer, but I wouldn't say its better. The walls on nile are the perfect height and pitch for wall hits. Paradise's walls are kinda weird, and don't follow past the first stretch. Also the turn on paradise just aren't as nice, and there are WAY more people that ride paradise than ride nile. Don't get me wrong I love paradise, but I think nile has it beat. Although, I'm not sure I would go so far as saying its the best trail in PA. Main St . is a beautiful trail, because it stays in pretty good condition all the time. Even when the rest of the mountain is beat, main st still has lots of runs before its totally shot. Also, its pitch, is so steady. I wouldn't mind something steeper, but all the blacks I have ridden in PA are so up and down, challange has two drops, razors has two, cliffy has two, the front four at CB are just way to short, and they still don't manage to keep an even pitch. The only thing thats a pain about main st is trying to take laps on it. Either cut across the mountain and cut back to ride the quad, or take the slow lift. As of right now though, my pick for best trail in pa goes to main st.

    Sunday

There is a delete button you know. Jeff you whore, your on the staff, just come out. Quit being a weiner. Adam may be right again about these excuses. Back on topic. I will be there all day. Not sure how much I will be riding with the PASR crew, but at least the first couple of runs will be with you guys. Will there be stickers handed out again to plaster the mountain
  17. No, I don't. It has some sections that would work well with a park and other sections that wouldn't. Probobly the biggest problem is there are sections where not enough speed would be an issue, and its not steep enough for natural landings. Camelback doesn't seem to know how to build jumps so, the manmade landings would be lousy. I stick by my orginal idea, that if CB wanted to move the park, they should combine both parks and put everything on raceway. Pitch is resonable with a couple of rollers for natural landings, super wide, to fit multiple features side by side. Its own lift. It's quite ideal, but they would have to move nastar and I don't really see that happening. It's a nice thought though. Besides, why would you want to get ride for nile. It's so perfect, its the best TRAIL CB has. Why would they throw away a good thing like that. I believe in utilizing resources available. And that trail is a beautiful cruising resource. I like parks, but it would be a shame to see nile filled with hits and rails.
  18. I take it you are talking about sidewinder at blue, and if you are the answer is no. First off its a terrain park. Second its MUCH steeper than nile. Its cuts back and forth a couple of times, but not true switchbacks like nile. Also it is unlike nile in that it has nothing on the sides, with the exception of some hips provided by snowmobile access trails.
  19. Thats awsome, and could easily be done with RFID without seperate lines. It would be transparent to everyone, since both the season pass holders and the daily tickets could have RFID embeded in them. Thats a real sweet incentive deal though.
  20. I don't understand their problem with the wind. It was super windy at Blue as well and they had their high speed running. I think they have less tree cover for there lifts than CB, but maybe I'm wrong. It is rediculous they couldn't get the slower full mountain lifts open.
  21. Sleep deprivation usually works, so just stay up till 2 or 3 in the morning and wake up at 5 or 6. Sure you're tired all day, but the few hours of sleep you get will be awsome. As a side note this will be great training for college.
  22. Yahtzee, even moreso than getting lost/hurt/cold there is the risk of getting run over by a groomer or snowmobile, who is going to be going through there not watching for people.
  23. Above midway?!?!?! Are we talking about the same mountain here? I certainly know blue was fully open. Possibly meadows? If so, why was everything closed, wind? cold? laziness?
  24. Hmm, I heard lots of good things about shawnee's park this year. I wonder if it was just a bad day. I was planning on heading up sometime this week, but if things are haggard I may hold off.
  25. Sounds great. Montage is a little far for me, and if I was going this weekend it was supposed to be on sat, but weather being as it was, I took a day off (not by choice). I was told if I am traveling north, I should just skip montage and head striaght for elk though. This coming from someone whos home mountain is elk, but I really haven't heard anything bad about elk, so aside from the PASR day at montage, I don't think there will be any other trips to montage this season.
