  1. When I worked at Bear, one of our jobs was to patrol the lodge on weekends and request people not leave their coolers, bags on the tables while they were skiing. Or ask the one person sitting at the table with 5 coolers while everyone else skis, to please share the table. Most people would either look at you like you were speaking another language, or just refuse to do it. Not much could be done about it. I can't believe people actually take their own beer in the lodge! I have nothing against people bringing their own food, but don't leave your cooler on a table. Just rude.
  2. Yes, I have AWD. Also have great tires. Had absolutely no trouble getting to Blue in the snow 1st thing in the morning last week. I am going to keep looking at rental cars, maybe small SUV. I feel even if it has AWD or 4 wheel drive, tires make a huge difference. I'm sure they don't put great tires on rentals.
  3. Since rental car rates out west is the title of this discussion, I have a question. Staying in SLC, I wasn't going to rent a car, as the public transportation sounds pretty good. Then I thought I want to do a couple days hiking instead of skiing. I can rent a front wheel drive mid size sedan for $200 the whole week. Think that will work out? I did request chains.
  4. Yes, Philadelphia.
  5. Don't they have some kind of deal 3 lessons, rentals and beginner lesson that's pretty reasonable? Doh. Just read Enjoralas post.
  6. It's not crowded here. Maybe a little more than usual for a weekday. Challenge and NM to DW a little slick. The sun will probably help soften things up.
  7. I'm carrying on my boots. Checking everything else. Hopefully everything will end up where I'm at when I get there.
  8. Wow. Forgot all about this. Better get there early. Gonna be crowded.
  9. 560 for 9 days isn't bad. I think we spent about that much last Tim we went to Az. I think we rented for total of 12 days.
  10. it would suck if you spent all that money on vacation, looked forward to it and there was no power and high winds.
  11. High winds, no power.
  12. There are a lot worse places than PASR prison.
  13. That would really suck to be there on vacation and have this happen.
  14. Is he banned from Blue??! Any friend of Kelcey's is a friend of mine! What happened?
  15. It's a prescription sunglasses tan for me 😎
  16. Seems we haven't been seeing a lot of sunshine. Cold and rainy😑😠. I guess it's better than warm and rainy. Skiing in the sun is such a treat.
  17. Indeed.
  18. Looks like a good week weather wise. No rain. Sunny and high in the 40s. Perfect ski weather.
  19. Loved going to Vermont with a couple of kids in the car. They were always so excited it was infectious.
  20. Nice pics. Was gonna go to Vermont last week. Took a day off, so had 4 days off in a row. Decided not to, since going to Utah in March. Damn, I shoulda gone. Starting to learn can't take too many ski vacations.
  21. March 7
  22. Ok good idea to put all that stuff in to help cushion. I plan on carrying on my boots. Thanks.
  23. I have never flown taking my skis along. I have a soft canvas bag for them. Good enough, or should I get hardshell bag?
  24. I got here at 830. Was at the lift at 840. 1st run spectacular face plant on the Falls. You prolly laughed if you saw it. Leaving now, as it is getting scary windy and crowded. Best run today was Switchback. Need to practice powder skiing, that was a good place to do it. Now time to get home and shovel.
  25. Because I live right below Coopersburg. It's the easiest way to go. Get off Cedar Crest to 22 to 145 or go all the way up where 309 meets 22. Sounds like a long ride, but you can drive pretty fast. Tried going through Bethlehem last week and took back roads, didn't think they'd be clear. if you know of a better way let me know
