My son would always say he was the only kid in his class that hadn't been to Disney! I guess we were just crappy parents. His senior high school trip was to Disney, he never went back. I'm just not into crowds. Rides are ok. I can't stand anything that goes around in circles.... makes me want to puke.
-
Well , I've never been to Disney, and have zero desire to go there. No offense, have fun.

I wouldn't mind having a small windmill in my yard for own personal use. When we were in Arizona, lots of houses in the middle of nowhere AKA desert had small windmills and solar panels. Lots of people living off the grid. Didn't Blue look into putting windmills in couple years ago? Shot down due to hawk migration?

I do prefer this weather, but not for growing things.

Nice. You are much braver than I. I have actually have a fear of heights. Don't get me on a ladder or near the window of a tall building. I'm ok on ski lifts, not sure why. Unless the lift stops, and we are up high. I've wanted to curl up on the floor couple times on the gondola at Killington when it stopping

In the winter it wouldn't get cold, now it won't get warm. WTF.
-
Don't most pizza places have cannolis?
-
Sounds like a nice job. Doubt it pays much.
-
Yeah, I thought about that after I already started Should prolly be "On Land" Oh well.

There are a lot of wild blueberries up in the Poconos. Berries get ripe, they are small, but delicious.
-
Do you get any blueberries? Someone told me would take several years before you would actually get berries. We have 1 raspberry bush, usually birds get all the berries! We need to make a separate place for berry bushes. We also have to restart a strawberry patch. A lot more room in our yard, now that it's not taken up with trampolines, bike jumps, summer ski set ups, etc.

Nice. All raised beds

I bet it's major $$ to stay there. Then there's another new indoor water park practically around the corner on 380. I can't believe there's that much market for these places. And Great Wolf Lodge. Just the thought of being in that warm water with a ton of other people....yuck.

My brother in law went to a Halloween party that year dressed as a MOVE member. Just burned a bunch of holes in his sweatshirt and smeared his face with charcoal. He already had the hair for it.... Guess you'd get a lot of flak for that nowadays.

Leave Tuesday 😎 I think garden will be okay. Neighbors are pet sitting. Can't really ask them to do too much.
-
We don't have anything out that can't stand a little frost. All cool weather stuff. Hopefully it sprouts before we leave for Az.
-
Still nothing really growing. We planted carrot, beets, spinach. Anyone else getting started? our new composter my husband made. Mostly from stuff around the house. Just had t buy barrel $10. They're not easy to find!
-
Yes when they are a little older is actually harder, with jobs and school. But definitely don't want to discourage that. Oh yeah, can't forget about the pets. Our pets are treated like royalty. Ridiculous.
-
Yeah, it's hard when you have kids you worry about everything. It's just crazy what goes thru your mind.
-
Thanks. Guess I'm just anxious about it. And my husband thinks I'm nuts for wanting to hike up that high. The only issue I had last year hiking at 9000 feet was my legs were like lead.... I definitely had no lack of appetite , was starving after and during that hike.
-
Mmmmm. Not sure what you are trying to say here. My concern is hike is 12,600 feet. I don't think it will be easy. Good possibility I won't make it, I just want to try. Maybe easier to ski or skate that elevation, as opposed to climbing up.
-
Wow, thats a shame. Couldn't get one of your kids to go up there with you?
-
ok, so now I need to pick some brains, anyone who knows and is familiar with elevation and how it effects you. If we stay at Flagstaff elevation 7000 feet couple of days, how long does it take your body to get used to the elevation? I really want to go to the top of Mt Humphreys- elevation 12,600 feet. Would staying in Flagstaff couple of days help with altitude adjustment? Last year we stayed in Phoenix- elevation 1,100 feet. Drove up to hike Bill Williams Trail outside Flagstaff. Hiked around 2 hours, then my legs felt like lead. My son pointed out that we were around 9000 feet. Duh... oh yeah. I guess my question is, if we stay in Flagstaff 3-4 days, would it be easier to go to the top of Mt Humphreys?

Looks like a blast. Thanks for posting. I rode up lift at Blue this season with a couple that just got back from Whitefish. Said elevation not an issue, it's not that high above sea level. True?
-
JF done for season. BB still going.

OK will try that, thanks.
