i agree with you there. and pasnwboardr, you may want to do a little more research and decide what kind of board you really want and what would fit, i feel like your options are all over the spectrum...

I'll be there this monday, just seeing who else is gonna be there, and what's going on in the parks? a list of features would be great. thanks!

my 2 cents... i'm not a big ride guy myself, i feel as though they are a little overpriced, so i dont have any experience with the prophet. and the k2 zeppelin ive always thought was a little stiff for my liking, so never ridden that one either. the other 2 i have more experience with. i have an older agent and have ridden last years a little. i've always liked this board. solid construction and good flex. stiff enough for cruising and stable enough for big jumps, yet soft enough for rails as well. and then there is the darkstar which i currently ride paired with some Rome 390's and am very happy with. i rode the '08 152 last year and the '09 155 this year. both pretty kickass boards. the flex is just right, and i love it in the park. its slightly softer than the agent, which is slightly softer than something like a ride dh. i rode the 155 in vermont this year and it handled everything from double blacks, mellow cruisers, to trees with ease, even with a centered park stance. overall i dont think you can go wrong with the darkstar, especially for only $400. the only problems ive had was last year's topsheet peeled really bad, so i got that warrantied. this years seems a little better, still peels a little. but i seem to break boards often and i am alot tougher on my stuff than most. either the agent or the darkstar would be a good choice. if your ever at bear creek and you want to give it a test ride let me know...

place was a zoo today. i have never seen it so full. they have 6+ parking lots and they were all full. they were parking people in lots i didnt even know existed. the snow was great too, just packed. Bear is raking in the $$ today

yeah i avoid NYE at all costs. it was nice this morning. tonight will suck im sure. too many schmucks in the park...
-
this one is awesome. good luck out there dude. enjoy it.
-
i disagree with you there. small and poppy or big and mellow. a big jump and poppy lip is a mixture for disaster
-
there are skis on tramdock all the time. 4frnt stls for 175, some blizzard somethings for 110 ive seen. now theres a pair of scotts for like 200. i almost picked up a pair of the 4frnts the other day

park is ok. the jumps are fun and pretty nice. today was a nice day for them. i'm glad they opened the new quad it got rid of pretty much any liftlines. as for cascade i think a few adjustments would make it alot better. i feel like bear tried tooooo hard to make it the "expert" park and it would be more fun if it were simpler. the first jump is fine, snow was a little slow today but its a nice jump. the gap on box is a waste of snow really, they could have accomplished the same thing with way less snow. the single barrel handrail is fine, it would work as a down rail too. the dfd is set up nicely then the 35 foot down rail is just ok. i dont know if its just me but i feel like those square rails dont slide well. anyway i would have rather seen the old palmer rail or the new double wide setup there instead. the up rail is fine. again snow today was slow and it will be more fun when you can get more speed. i dont have much to say about the bench/ corrugated tube bonks, they're nothing special. i just think cascade would be more fun if they put less emphasis on building stuff on mounds of snow to make it look "expert", and focused more on better flow. kind of dissapointed, actually.
-
mehh besides that jump, the dfd, and the up rail, im not really crazy over any of it. i guess we'll see how it rides tomorrow. but i think there are a couple down rails so it should be fun.
-
didnt really notice anything going on with the cliff when i was there... but i didnt look too hard either. guess we'll wait and see tomorrw

just to update, you may want to hold off a day or two on the jumps. they were blowing all night and most of the day so the jumps were kinda covered. the first was hittable but barely enough speed and the 2nd larger one was completely covered and didnt see a rake all day. should be better when the temps warm up and they stop pounding the mtn with snow
-
nice tr jeff. nice details and cool pics. i definetly dont remember every run like you do. anyway i thought the 5 inches of fresh they got the day i was there was fun, i really missed out on the good stuff.
-
4 jumps? 2 lips on one jump doesnt count. there are only 3.
-
yeah they do, but their doing a full rebuild on the parks the next couple days so who knows what will happen
-
ya know i would much rather ride bear at the moment. the set up is pretty ill and stuff is maintained well...

jumps arent too bad right now, there is a little one in blackbear. then over in tubing there are 2 hits, the first being 25-30 and pretty nice and floaty. the second is about 40 maybe a tad more with a big ol knuckle. if they groom and manicure it, it could be nicer.
-
haha yeah it was pretty sick in the day. saurus was taking some pics of the scenery but i dont know how they turned out, maybe he'll post them up
-
nice shots bro. cb's park looks fun im gonna have to get up there soon
-
the park setup is pretty fun right now. cascade is nice, maybe could use a jump. the tubing jumps are nice, the big one didnt see much action. i like the lower part of black bear too. only gripe is the down bar on blackbear, the lip needs to be a little more mellow and wider
