a question for those that ski/board in rainy weather
Tyler replied to putbadstuffhere13's topic in Blue Mountain
i <3 snowboarding in the rain. no crowds, fast snow, soft snow. i dont think i've ever been wetter than the last midnight madness at boulder. we rode in the rain for a good 6 hours that night. -
hahahahahahaha, i cant wait
-
yeah man ive been riding them a bunch now and their real nice. plus im getting my other romes warrantied so im in good shape.
-
haha are you kidding me, every jump that will cuts is $$ and hes usually done them in about 2-3 runs. i'd rather have someone take a little extra time and do something right.
-
there are about 5 park crew members that actually know what their doing. the rest do more damage then good, if everyone just followed the way Will gets shit done there wouldnt be a problem, except hes usually the only one working.
-
skiers left of the big staircase, lets you gap to the down part of the far left rail
-
i prefer jumps, especially during the day. when the snow is good and the lip is even better, jumps are a lot of fun. although once that sun goes down i usually move on to rails
-
wow, sno did it. a 22 foot pipe requires a shit ton of snow and they pulled it off. props to them for putting in the time and resources needed. i'm curious to hear how it rides, it looks sick
-
for the sake of god, can someone please put a lip at the end of the butter pad??? it really isnt any fun to drop straight off and knuckle. its finally long enough to be fun but has no pop at the end.
-
way to go kt, thats so sick. anyone have any videos of the even yet?
-
generally the lines arent bad from open til 11, then they get long from 11-3, they die down for a little from 230-3ish to about 5, then all the offpeakers roll in and it gets crowded agian until about 8 at night
-
the inverse rainbow really isnt that fun...
-
the new setup on cascade needs some work. the first step up jump is pretty good. the butter pad needs a little lip off the pad. the next jump needs a way bigger takeoff, the distance to the knuckle is wayyyyyy to big for the lip. the 3rd jump is ok, its just a small step up. the tire was good until i knocked it over on my first hit...ooops. tubing jumps need work.
-
nice work guys, nick if your ever trying to make those weekly videos and your short on riders i'd be glad to fill in.
-
not sure if thats directed to me or not, but if it is...im not selling it. actually my plan is to warranty it at the end of the season and have a fresh one for next year to beat to shit again haha. plus its a 152 and you want something bigger
-
the big jump in tubing needs to be built with a bigger takeoff and steeper landing. build it exactly like the jumps in boulder park, they definetly know how to build jumps.
-
i love the way my darkstar rides, just my topsheet is beat to shit
-
i bought the tickets off him, he gave me a great price, basically giving them away. i'm happy i get to spend more time up at boulder for basically nothing. good deal

boulders parks are sick toast. freedom has so much flow and is so fun, boulder park is perfect.

$10 meg? ask travis how far i flew...i saw my legs breaking as i saw the landing still 15 feet under me we wanted to stop at mike n matts
-
absolutely fantastic day at jack frost and big boulder. k2rider and I didnt leave until 9:45 because we planned to go to sno for the $10 lift ticket deal. luckily i called beforehand and it wasnt good for presidents weekend, what a lucky break. anyway we decided to use some free ticketes for jfbb. we got to boulder at 11:15, got out tickets from megan and then headed over to JF. started riding around 11:30. we headed straight over to east mountain and lapped some of the steeps and glades for 10 or so runs. then we headed over to one park which was surprising fun. it actually had good flow. we hit that about 6 times then decided it was time for boulder. the snow at JF was really good besides a couple scraped off spots and the crowds were smaller than oi expected. we hit mike and matts, wawa on our way over to boulder. once we got to boulder around 3ish we headed straight for freedom. i can't say enough good things about that park. the setup is sooo solid yet so simple. it was the most fun ive had in a while. no circus rails, nothing extremely hard, just stuff that was simple, fun to throw down on, and well maintained. it has a great combination of flat boxes, rails, urban setups, everything. we spent the vast majority of our time on that park. boiulder park is sooo sick. the jumps are perfect. they were really easy to hit and i felt really comfortable. i was spinning them by my third run. boulder really knows how to build great jumps, that line has amazing flow. didnt have any problems with them until my last run, i came off the first one and went into the second. needless to say with all the rain the snow was really fast. lets just say i had WAYY to much speed. i turned a 60 footer into roughly 85. i missed landing completely flat by about 5 feet. anyway i somehow still had all my body parts and looking back it was pretty sweet to fly that high and far. ...all good fun. anyway, we left boulder around 12:45 am. It had been raining since 3 and we were soaked but didnt care. the rain kept the snow soft and fast and the crowds light. boulders parks are money and its amazing how much snow they have, the boulder park jumps require a huge amount of snow. oh and it didnt hit me at the time but i definetly ran into librider in the plaza and i thought another kid was xnick11. such a looonnng and fun day. oh and thanks again to megan for the tickets, make sure you come up to bear again soon.

hows this jump, big? they have any jumps 30+?? i'm really just trying to get away from the bear creek crowds for this weekend...

im on my second pair of romes now, and they are my favorite bindings on the market. The 390's are a little soft for your freeride board, i would look at the targas if i were you. i also used the arsenals for a long time and they are a little stiffer than the 390's, theyre a good all mountain choice if you wanna keep your spending down.
