bro i completely agree on finding it more enjoyable to watch, style stands out so much more and it just looks cleaner. I find myself watching 15 ski edits before i watch one snowboard edit anymore. I

doug i'd say maybe slightly more snowboarders but no real difference. also you'd get pretty scraped up without long sleeves/pants
-
no damage at all, cleaned the base if anything

its firm plastic bristles almost like a hair brush. They make you wear long sleeves/pants so you dont get brush burns but you can still get scraped up a little. Its padded underneath so the actual impact is extremely soft.

Been on our to do list since it opened, finally got the chance to go down. We left friday late morning and with traffic got down to lynchburg, virginia around 5. The snowflex is on its summer hours so it runs 6 pm-midnight all week. We were the first ones in line for the day and bought a 2 hour lift ticket. We rode friday for almost 3 hours and had a blast. Found a cheap place to stay for the night and then found some things to do to kill time before it opened again on saturday. It was empty saturday less than 25 people on the slope at all times. Saturday we started to feel alot better on the surface and really had a great time. Its amazing how realistic the snowflex feels. It takes a little getting used to as you seem to slide a little more while trying to hold an edge but its really fun and is surprisingly fast. The 150 foot vert slope sits on top of a mountain where it overlooks the Liberty University campus and the Blue ridge mountains. It has a t bar to take you to the top. It is loaded with park features but there is plenty of space to ski around them and we had no trouble with getting cut off or anyone interfering. The lodge and all the facilities are brand new and immaculate. It is a beautiful area especially when the sun sets over the surrounding mountains. Its a cheap trip with lift tickets at $7/an hour for peak times and $5 non peak (mon-thurs). With gas/some food/cheap hotel we did it all for under $100 so its definetly one you guys should hop on if you get the chance. Nothing beats the feeling of snowboarding in the summer and you cant come any closer than this for the money/ convienence. Staff is super friendly and ready to help. For those of you who are wondering, park setup went something like: Small Butter box/ c-box Down rail/ Corrugated tube Mellow DFD / Flat box/ Long Up Box / Battleship Box Jump with 3 lips, 30ish ft, 15 ft, 5 ft Quarter Pipe at the end And some pictures, didnt take too many but managed to snap a few on the way out. Enjoy top of the lift

rode 10-2:30 and had a blast. parks held up really well until about 2 and were a ton of fun. Thanks again for the ticket jfskidan, appreciate it

its mid-march at bear creek, thats about as good of coverage as i've seen at this time in the past couple years. sure there were a couple dirt spots but they were pretty easily avoided. today with all the rain the dirt spots were alot larger and more prevalant. I'd finally start to consider coverage to be spotty now. We ride bear, our definition of good coverage is a little different than everywhere else
-
um..today was the first day that there were noticeable dirtspots, coverage was pretty good all week. But really they still have plenty of snow. id bank on next weekend being the last, i dont think it will be tomorrow or sunday.
-
anyone have the park setup at CB? is it worth coming up for?
-
woah, scary shit. good reason to never ride alone
-
ah i saw this on NS, terrible especially after he battled back from that injury. RIP
-
saw the edit, very nice. cant wait to see the spot opened back up..whats the plan with jumps, are they all getting rebuilt? bigger? different styles? and when will it be re-opened to the public?
-
word springs has gotten hammered all year! the spot has been incredible and the trees are by far the deepest ive ever ridden in pennsylvania. some crazy shit all this snow and its awesome. it was sunny and warm today an hour north of pittsburgh and I roll over to springs and its cold and snowing some more, reminds me of a snow globe. hello april riding!
-
snowboard-cross is just soo...well, gay just watching their arms flail and the overall sloppy appearance in which they ride makes me cringe a bit. not saying the guys arent world class athletes and damn fast, just not my kind of snowboarding. damn I wish hockey would start soon
-
scored 14" out here on the west side...should be a white out at 7 sprangs tomorrow!
-
im sure we all still have some, i know i do at home. If i wasnt at school i'd send you one but maybe someone else will hook you up
-
it was so windy i didnt even hit it yesterday. Literally 50 mph winds blowing straight uphill at the jump, no thanks haha. saw very few hit it and a couple people get broken off on it. I'll report back next time im up there, but it sure looks nice and the few people i saw hit it didnt seem to have any trouble
-
just a shitty pic i snapped from the lift of the last jump from the lift. sorry for the bad quality but it gives you an idea of how nice of a jump it really is.
-
i hear you on the winds. was all excited to hit the jumps but those hopes were kinda blown away
-
any word on when the spot is opening? or when the build on north is coming?
-
got to ride it today. absolutely pristine, and the jumpline is looking to be a lot of fun. the last one is gonna be big. Is the spot gonna be open tomorrow? lets hope so
-
