  1. According to the weather channel right now, there is 4 inches at the base and 9 at the summit at Killington
  2. Not in this day and age when any kind of earth moving project takes more freaking paperwork and approvals and designs and studies and everything else before you can even begin cutting down a single tree. I can only imagine that the work it would take to acquire and develop more land could never be justified to add some more trails.
  3. I hope you got a slide or two out of that before complete meltage!!!

    Tough Mudder

http://toughmudder.com/events/bear-creek/ I've never actually posted in the Bear Creek forum so this is cool for me. I was reading the New York Times today and came across this article about a crazy obstacle course race and it looks like its going to be making a stop at Bear Creek. Kind of cool and a pretty badass way to spend a Saturday.

    It's gone

Unbelievable. Just last month I went to the new Best Buy in the Bronx and the old stadium looked like you could still play in it. Gotta love the Yankees though. Can't argue with a team that has won the world series in more years than I've even been alive
  6. Well that doesn't sound too promising for a trip up there in the next few weeks haha.
  7. I wouldn't mind a free lift ticket to PASRs, or at least some kind of a discount. It would definitely help me get out there for one last hurrah!
  8. Elk didn't mind us drinking in the lot on Wednesday.
  9. We can always gape at CB if blue isn't going to work out well.

    Conditions?

I was up at Elk today too. Snow was great, really soft, yet firm. Plenty of snow in the woods to play around in too. There wasn't really any specific run of the day, everything was nice. Temperatures were super warm. I was in just a hoodie and sunglasses, too hot for a helmet or goggles today.
  11. I hear Eddie Wall's dad is up at Sno today, tearing the place up.
  12. I can't really think of anyone other than CB who has a pipe this year. I think its kind of odd from a marketing standpoint though. Wouldn't a pipe help a lot to get people excited about the Olympics out to your mountain? Kids watching Shaun White win who think snowboarding is something they want to do will of course overestimate themselves and want to go ride a pipe even though they've never been on a mountain before. I would think that just being able to say in an olympic year that you have a pipe, no matter the size or quality would get you more skier visits.
  13. I think a lot of that has to do with location. Cback is right off of 80 which goes directly to new york and the mountain is only 10 minutes from Jersey. Blue draws more Philly people because its right off of the turnpike.
  14. No doubt about it, get the boots from a shop. Everyone's feet are different and you need to try them on. As for your question, yes, any bindings will go on any board. Just be aware that Burton boards and bindings use a little bit of a different screw pattern, but its not an issue.
  15. hell, I'll try anything once....
  16. I'm going to pistol whip the next person who says "nettiquite"
  17. purely teaching? I might recommend something like Shawnee. Small, cheap and not crowded
  18. Anyone got an extra ticket?
  19. I just checked the Sno Mountain website for some unknown reason and clicked over to their conditions page. Under the new snow fall section in red it says: Sno Mountain will be Closed at 4pm today for a Private Party. This does Not apply to season pass holders. Season Pass Holders will be allowed to use the mountain. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? Who has got the money or idea to rent out a mountain for an entire night? It's cool that it doesn't effect season passholders, so I guess more props to Sno for this thing. I hope they pull in a nice wad of cash, but they better be open on Wednesday for me.
  20. I checked with the Magic Hat: "Life in a Hurry makes everything Blurry" of course to be scientific you can't just have one trial, so again I enlisted the help of the forseeing elixer: "Don't Strain your Brain In times of Pain" Well once you gave it a go of 2 times you might as well try the lucky number 3: "Suck the toe of Edgar Allen Poe" was the final response.
  21. Phenomenal TR, sounds and looks like you had one of the best days imaginable.
  22. Elk has some pretty nice and long runs, but like others have said its a tougher mountain to ski than Blue. They have a really long green cruiser (Tioga maybe?) that is really long, but its super flat. The Blues off of the quad are nice runs too but as a whole elk caters to the diamond crowd.
  23. Who approved the design of that track? Having those steel beams right there? No set back, no padding, no nothing. Whoever came up with that idea was just wrong from the beginning. Had he flipped out and skidded across the ground he would have been alright, but those beams were right there. I really hope they are completely removed before they get to use the track tomorrow. This is a terrible thing to see. My heart goes out to his family and all the Georgians.
  24. Great Day at Frost, I had a great time riding with you guys, thanks for the local insights into the place. Dan and phillycore summed it up pretty well, it was a phenomenal day. The snow was soft and deep, probably averaging knee deep when you went looking for it, and I was definitely up to my waist at one point until I hit a rock underneath and had to dig out. After SERCH and Phillycore and Dan left I went over to Boulder right for opening. I snagged 3rd chair only because I ran to the bathroom before the lift. They left boulder park ungroomed which I thought was weird but it was nice. The bottom around the plaza was kind of cool. About calf deep fresh windblown, the surface looked like whitecaps on water, but was some nice float. Run of the day there was the Marquee route under the 3 lifts right next to each other. It was rocky up top so thanks to the advice of you guys I ducked in from LOVE park by the big gas tank. Great run in there, soft and deep and all around good time. After I ran that twice people started getting the idea and all sorts of goobers were in there so I moved on. I ran over to check out Snowdrift like you guys suggested. Skiers left of the park features was nice but didn't compare to the great stuff we found earlier on. I traversed the mountain a few times and left right at 5.
  25. I'm leaving in a few, a little later than I wanted to but I'll be there soon. Look for a snowboarder with black pants (sometimes they look like a chocolate) and a red and tan jacket. Pair of red Oakleys on a gray hat. I'll probably be riding with my ipod if I'm solo so if you see me flag me down or yell really really loud! I'll mostly be around the East Mountain and the glades I suppose. See Y'all out there!
