Closet if I"m feeling ambitious, or maybe a corner. I think one is in the closet and one is in a corner right now haha.

Good call BDK, thanks for the heads up, I totally forgot about the snow we have coming! I'm going to start planning stuff now and we'll see where I end up tomorrow. Does anyone know how elk has been doing lately? 5 inches isn't enough to get into woods that were bare the day before, but i'm going to be optimistic.

Sorry No I am not goig to JFBB today 12/30, I would like to get out somewhere tomorrow though.

Stratton Bus Trip leaving from NYC area. Think it's worth $95?
Schif replied to TT C6's topic in General Chat
If you're just looking for a day trip this seems pretty good to me. I would imagine that it would be pretty tough to do an up and back with single day lift ticket for any cheaper, and the fact that you don't have to drive is a big plus. Nice find TTC6 -
No it is not rhetorical. I want the date and time of TTC6's first carpool post, his real name, occupation, medical history and a copy of his original Birth Certificate, and you guys are just being jerks if I don't get it.
-
Listen TTC6, PASR isn't a huge site. Its not like there are a million people reading this place every day to see your awesome carpool threads. Its a smallish community and posting about carpooling 80000000 times to the same 100 people isn't going to do anything. I'm usually a pretty neutral person here, but I'm starting to get sick of your posts. Note: I said your posts, not you so don't get pissed. I'm sure you're a decent guy on the mountains but you're an ass online. Put something in your signature or something about contacting you about carpooling or whatever you want to do and stop posting stupid shit. How long has this been going on anyway? You've been asking the same people the same things for close to a year now. Most people would have given up by now. I also will dare you to actually add something to this site once in a while instead of simply demanding names and dates and times and conditions and carpools and this that and the other thing. You only seem to post about info that you rudely demand, or a carpool/rental thread. Maybe you should try to post some Trip Reports, or maybe some gear related stuff, I don't know, anything useful to the community rather than just yourself!

USASA Boardercross Competition at Bear Creek January 31, 2009
Schif replied to TT C6's topic in Bear Creek
I rarely ever look into individual forums. I've got the place bookmarked, then click on view new posts. Why do extra work when you don't have to. -
The blues allow you to have a more varied and longer run which is why I like them to be open. Not to mention the tree runs you can take advantage of over there. I love that they concentrated the snow first and foremost on the Northface seeing as that is where i spend the vast majority of my time. On a side note, I was there last week on the 22nd and had the weirdest thing happen to me. All night the lighting was spotty at best of course, but there were a number of lights that kept shutting off and coming back on. Most notably the one at the top of the big headwall on boomer. We went down the mogul covered part of the headwall in perfect darkness, and then when we went back up it was on, and when we went down again it was off. This wasn't the worst part though. At around 945, we hopped on Phoebe Snow and by the time we hit the first tower, all the lights on the entire mountain went out, the lift stopped, and we saw 2 really big bright green flashes that looked like they came from the area by the blue squares. After a few minutes the power came back on and lit up the northface and the lift ran, but when we got to the top, the upper part of the mountain was still dark and no lifts were running. If anyone has any kind of knowledge of what happened let me know, I've been really curious, just never got around to posting.

Thanks for the info. I'd definitely be interested in racing. -
Below 25 BDK? More power to you to stay warm I guess, but for me to justify a facemask or anything (I really don't like the feel of something across my whole face), it has to be well below zero haha.

Thats kind of disappointing to hear. How was the park looking? Last week they were blowing really hard on it but it wasn't open yet.

Senior now, 4th year at University Park Campus, Civil Engineering minoring in Geologic Physics. So yeah I go there.

Is poop the first TTC6 groupie?

Snyder, seriously, if you want to make a point go right ahead, but for everyone's sake please make it legible. Punctuation and correct spelling and grammar go a long way around here. To counter your point, Tubing is a huge money maker for every resort. While they probably didn't have to spend as much on it as they did, you have to respect the dollars that tubing brings in and learn to live with it.

Blue Mountain is Going Downhill-No Pun Intended
Schif replied to Death Cookie's topic in Blue Mountain
Just by googling really quick, JFBB is 20 miles and 25 minutes farther from Philly than Blue. -
Pictures really do say a 1000 words. Now if GSS could only get that concept!

Awesome I had a friend call me from back home to go up to Sno today. He was telling me that it took him over an hour to drive from his house to his dad's shop, which is normally a 7 minute ride I love snow.
-
Thats what threw me off then. I was going by what was on the conditions page and it only showed the bunny lift and the Phoebe Snow to be open.
-
Not that I've been there since opening day, but i'm kind of disappointed in what looks to be open there. Most mountains are nearing 100% and Sno hardly has anything open as of right now. I really can't see any good reason for this. If everyone else can do it why aren't we even moving forward in a trail count?
-
I might be there on Sunday morning, unless I go to Killington
-
Well thanks for the encouragement guys. I'm not really looking for a performance boot I guess, I'll probably go the route of rentals for a few times. The only reason I'm even going to skiing is because Tussey is such a joke of a mountain I made a deal with some people that when we went the snowboarders would learn how to ski and the skiers would learn how to snowboard. There are only so many times you can bomb 350 verts and slide a flat box before you want a little more thrill

Its stuff like this that makes me a little apprehensive about trying to make the crossover this year.

Nice TR. I can't wait to get on the North Face. It looks like there is a lot of snow in the woods there. Pretty sweet.
