  1. Burton makes some great stuff. I'm still riding on an 8 year old Burton. I've since gotten non burton boards, but this old girl is still kicking the few times a year i pull her out. On the same token, the worst pair of bindings I've ever owned were Burton's. Lets not worry what each other is sliding down the hill on. As long as we all start at the top and get to the bottom we should all be friends
  2. I would love to know why those people even stopped. If a guy (who is not even in his skis by the way) whistles at you, you speed up!
  3. You obviously didn't watch "Ski Patrol" last night. Those guys have one of the toughest and most dangerous jobs in the country and we should all be proud of them.
  4. HAHAHAHAH once a week sharpening? Is there any steel left on that thing?
  5. I don't know, maybe I"m the only one and if I am I'll shut up, but it just seems absolutely ridiculous that you could have spent that much time on the snow and HAVE NEVER PROGRESSED as a rider.
  6. For as much as it showed the power trip FGT, its going to make it worse when these guys think they are celebrities during this upcoming season. Doug, you should get an autograph book and try to fill it by the end of the year haha
  7. So what did everyone think?
  8. I don't know if I'm the only one or not but this show is making me want to rip as hard as humanly possible down Paradise in a huge group of PASR's While blowing whistles
  9. I love the dangerous music. If the girl is hurt off the trail you could probably sweep the whole area w/ 10 people in 15 minutes. I love the overdramatics!
  10. There is an entire segment about whistling on slow skiing trails!
  11. Did anyone just see them call Razor's Edge, Lazy Mile?
  12. They would never sell a "bad board". There is no "bad board", there are just WRONG boards for people. However it seems like you just to to Frost every day and lap the blues, as a result, you got lucky and the Air will certainly serve your purpose.
  13. That right there is a ridiculous statement just to let you know. While you obviously cannot tell the difference, there are tons of people who can. They will as a result be riding better than you this year. Learning the differences between snowboards is not rocket science and absolutely makes the difference. You're trying to tell us that there is no difference between all of the blue jeans on the rack at the store. Just pick any old one and they will be the same. No. They have different waists, lenghts, cuts and materials. They all make a difference when you put them on. The same properties apply to boards. This is where you sit down and do some research or go to a shop. I would recommend you go to a shop because you have little or no knowledge of snowboards whatsoever. The guys at ski shops are skiers and riders who know whats up. Yeah they are trying to sell stuff, but they know what to sell you. A good shop tech will make your days on the hill better than before because they can put you in the gear that is right for you. Naive statement all around. Do you really think everything Burton makes is the be all and end all of snowboarding? Maybe all those other companies should close because everything Burton puts out is pure gold. I'm going to call you out on this. If you really ride that much you would know the differences between snowboards. Really? Damn, you've got 3 other boards. I bet they are all Burtons and perfect in every way. I bet they all slash hard on east coast ice, yet you are still pretty good buttering around on them too. I'm jealous I should get another Burton. Look at the damn thing, flex it look at the edges. If it passes a knowledgeable person's inspection then I'm sure its fine. A lot of people (some of the best riders in the state) rock used gear How many boards are even on the market for $700? Maybe a handful at best. Even if there is a phenomenal $700 board, the people who know what they are doing will just wait til next year to scoop one up. 80% of the members here get last years models. Again, if you really ride that much you could tell the difference between boards. Unless you're just straight lining blue squares all day every day (oh hell even then) you would get to understand what is going on with that thing attached to your feet. Listen Robert, I don't want to just rip you up here, but try to take it with a grain of salt. We know what we're doing around here. If you were right don't you think that the majority of people here would be grabbing up cheap boards at the Army Navy? Most of us get stuff online because we can tell just what we need and order it also it saves major money.
  14. I'd love to get some TRs from Hidden Valley or 7 springs. They are definately on my list of places I'd like to get to. Just throw them up in the "Other Mountains" for now and we'll see what happens. Don't get discouraged, just go out, ski/ride and tell us all about it!
  15. I'm out in central Pa and have never even been there. Not sure how much support this is going to get, sorry.

    Socks?

I wear a thin ski sock, never been a problem for me. I agree with toast though, you can't wear an ankle sock, mine nearly come up to my knees. In general you should have sock in contact with every part of the boot.
  17. Serves that kid right for being on snowlerblades.
  18. Opening dates are ENTIRELY weather dependent. They know just as much as we do about when they will open for real at this point.
  19. No college rate on weekends? WTF? Looks like you guys won't be seeing me all that often at Blue the true this year.
  20. I hate to say it, but it seems to me that Blue is going the way of CB. Just wait for the plastic palm trees.
  21. Agreed. While it may be a minor inconvenience to you, it will keep park traffic down, and will make the time you spend in the park much more enjoyable and safer for everyone.
  22. Its snowing pretty hard here now. Big thick flakes coming down very hard. There was starting to be some accumulation before I came inside the library here, but nothing measurable. *edit: From a quick look at the radar, its looking like a decent amount of snow is coming too.
  23. Well if Planet is gone, who is going to run the parks?
