  1. Tussey is right, but we never go to boulder. This is going to be a tough call. Boulder had the best park and "park scene" which I feel goes a long way, last year. I'm sure they're going to progress again this year. However I'm seeing a ton of promise in Sno's park. Sno will definately have a bigger park than boulder this year, I guess it will come down to maintenance. Whoever keeps theirs in the best shape will have the best park.
  2. Penn State can be as snobby as an Ivy League, or they will let anyone in like a CC. It kind of depends on what you're into. If you're willing to go to a branch campus, anyone with a pulse can "go to penn state". Main campus as a freshman is pretty tough. Depending on what you're going for its either hard to get into or pretty easy. You obviously don't exactly need straight A's if you want to come here for business or turfgrass, but you better damn well be close to a 4.0 if you want any chance of main campus for engineering.
  3. I could imagine midster. I signed up and paid for it last year but didn't end up going because they cancelled it haha. I guess it was for the best because I missed a pretty weak trip and got all my money back. I'm really hesitant about signing up for it this year too. Last year was a major fluke that people got refunds so I'm not really counting on it again if i sign up and try to bail. I've got to make a decision by thursday though because thats when the meeting about the trip is. I just don't want to drop some "mad squilla" as Doug would say on a bunny hill and snow guns in my face the whole time. Plus its going to be the first weekend I'll be 21 so I'll definitely be having a good time if i stay home...
  4. You gonna party? I don't have class on Tuesday until 1:30pm
  5. Last time I went to killy it took roughly 12 hours to get there from psu. We had to stop 3 times because its a rule for the bus drivers on long trips like that. it was snowing heavy in VT which slowed us up a ton and then there was a little incident involving the new york state police, a stolen bike, and kids with cancer. the trip back was better, but still took just under 10 w/ all the stops and the fact that a bus doesn't fare well in snowy and windy VT roads. Apparently there really aren't a whole lot of big highways in that state.
  6. My main concern is that the disco box will still be there :
  7. Are you guys talking about that thing under the east mountain lift? I hit that last year and it was pretty fun. You've got to bomb it the whole way though because unless you go right into the loading area of the lift and through some shrubs you have to cut hard left at the end and go uphill for a ways.
  8. Thats doable for me. Its just hard to justify me spending a ton of money and close to 20 hours on a bus for a few icy ribbons of death. I guess I'm just a little scared after last year when they closed a day on us.
  9. And what date is that? PSSC is having a trip the first weekend of December. If thats going to be the first weekend for them I might skip the trip and put the money towards one over winter break.
  10. Too bad Maybe I'll go the day before it opens and just poach it.
  11. You're exactly right ski. A narrow trail is going to be exponentially easier to get going and then maintain (as far as snow depth is concerned). Being narrow means it will get skied off easier and faster, but I still don't think that will be a problem at Sno this year. Its going to be an awesome year for us. I'll definitely be there for the first day the new trails open. I want to be the first one to ride that new one. That way I can completely claim it as my own.
  12. This is definitely the right direction. I don't know how much more they will be cutting down, but it kind of looked like that trail would be relatively narrow. Sno doesn't really have any of those except easy street.
  13. I bet most of them drink bottled water anyway, they wouldn't notice a thing.

    Last Year's K2 Fuse

Good point Glenn, thanks. I've been in the mindset of freeride for so long when it comes to board sizing. I"m around 180lbs now. I knew I needed a shorter board for the park, but I really don't know how short to go. Being a big guy smaller numbers have scared me in the past.

    Last Year's K2 Fuse

I'm on a 159 now so something around there if not a smidge smaller because it will be a park board and I definately need a WIDE.

    Last Year's K2 Fuse

I just found a good deal on a K2 Fuse wide from last year ($219) online. I've been wanting to get a park board for this year and it seems like a good idea. I just want to run it buy everyone on here if anyone has input on the board. I've never really looked into park boards too much so i'm almost new to that side of the sport. Thanks guys.

    twins cheap!

Just pull out all the stops and buy a basketball jersey.
  18. 11 minute ride!! Thats faster than long haul
  19. Thats amazing. Both from an engineering and skiing perspective.
  20. So is that what we're seeing here or are they going to put some decking on that frame? Has anyone ever tried to hit a qp made of solid plastic? It must be pretty weird. Then again, boulder had some plastic ramps for a rail or 2 which weren't terrible.
  21. Great news on the tree cutting. I'm just curious if we'll actually see a new trail. They're obviously very ambitious to start in september, but there is a lot of grading/installing of pipes/pumps/guns before we're going to see a skiable surface. I'm pulling for them though!! and yes ski, puppies make phenomenal carving surfaces. I also heard that baby seals are the newest and coolest bonk feature for this season.

    Army Navy Sale

I just saw a pair of pontoons in person for the first time yesterday. I was just amazed at the rediculous size of the things and I kind of wanted to slap the owner of the shop for having 2 pairs in stock.
  23. Even if they really really wanted to (which I'm sure they do) I wouldn't cross my fingers for new trails this year. Even if they pull it off by next year it would still be 20 times faster than the boot with their new trail. Besides, those trails are already there, you just have to dodge a few trees/porcupines and watch out for the cliff.
  24. That sucks that forum isn't doing a movie this year. They came out here last year to premeir it and it was pretty sick. From what I saw of the trailer of MDP's new one it looks absolutely sick. Then again, you can say the same for Medellin.....
  25. That is just sick. Sno is in good company too with the other stops being at Copper, Park City and Hood. Those aren't names to sneeze at and its cool to see Sno listed with them. Just one more reason for me to buy a park board for this season.
