Definately very interesting. Maybe something worth trying to find if we get a big dump.

This is really killing me. The PSU trip is Dec. 1-2. I'm not worried about no snow, but there may not be all that much open which worries me.
-
I'm glad this whole thing is done with now too. I was even getting a little worried about things getting done but it looks like it'll all work out for this season. I think us locals should do somethign to celebrate this new era in NEPA skiing/riding

They've had them on some trails at Jack Frost in the past. i've had fun with them.

Eh, I'm sure he's ok. Its been my experience that when you slide down the rail like that its a much lesser wipe out than others. Looks a lot worse, but really isn't. I realy screwed up a boardslide at Boulder last year and slid 2/3 of the down flat down box, like 4 people ran up to me thinking I was dead, but I just popped up and hit the next jump.

I did look into those boots. They look nice and would be cool. I've got a great pair of boots though (salomons) and are pretty small the way it is. It would only bring me down to an 11.5 and thats still a big boot. I"m really trying to avoid risers if at all possible. The whole idea just kind of bugs me. I can't imagine it to be as smooth and it kind of seems like i'd be standing on little stilts or something, bad for any type of freestyling and it seems like it would be a lot harder to land jumps.

I'm kind of turned off to Burton lately too, but the Baron seems to be a decent board. Does anyone here have any experience with risers? I've never used them or seen anyone else use them.
-
I'm on a 2001 Burton Floater. I can't give you an exact waist spec right now, but I'll see if i can have someone at home measure it for me.
-
I'm usually somewhere around +12 up front and -7 in the back. I'd say the 40 60 thing works pretty well. If there is good snow I'll probobly spend the majority of the day all over the place, but if its not all that great or i'm at Tussey I'll be hanging out in the park.

I can see where KISS is coming from, thats the first impression you get when you see it. I hope PASR doesn't get sued by DARE.

I really thought the stuff after CB had been put there by Doug or just for Doug.

Ok so i'm starting a new thread so the helpful gear links one doesn't get completely destroyed. (is it possible to clean that up?) Stats: Height: 6'0" Weight: 200lbs +-5 Boot Size: 12.5 Looking for: All around wide or mid-wide board. Need something for snow days when I go into the woods, groomed days when I'm ripping it up, and something that can handle the bumps on Lightning. We all know that the East Coast can get boring though. I'm starting to ride more and more park, and lets be honest Tussey only has 3 trails so the only thing to do sometimes is jump and jib. Initial idea was a K2 Nemesis, now I'm thinking thats not such a good idea because It won't give me enough in the park. KnuckleDragger suggested the Burton Baron ($499.95). riderrossi suggested the Rome Flag ($479.95) In addition I've looked at the Burton Royale mid-wide ($399.95) and the Forum Recon ($299.95). I like the specs of the Royale, and the only drawback to the Recon is that the biggest mid-wide they have is 156. Anyone have any further input on these boards or others like them?

Now we've just got to sit back and watch construction.
-
What are some good mid-wides? I've never realy done a ton of research on them.
-
Hmmm, Thats the first I've seen that says it won't be good in the park. I'm really stuck though. I need a wide board. Doesn't seem like there is a decent all mountain wide on the market. There is no way I'll get a park board because half of my riding is off trail, steep stuff, etc. I can't get a good freeride board though cuz I definately get bored a lot and go to the park which is fun.

Thanks for the tips. So far the-house has the best price by $20. The only problem here is that its still going for $439.95. I'm looking at the nemesis mostly because of my size 12.5 boot. That limits me right there. The Nemesis has an integrated riser system and isn't as wide as typical wide board. Another plus is that it seems like a good all around board. Something I can take into the park, but also it will keep me going on the steeps.

Very true, lets worry about mountains opening before we worry about them closing.

I'm running into a little problem here. I've been looking online for a new board but all I can find are brand new 06/07 boards. Anyone know of a good site where I can find last year's gear. Not used, just last seasons stuff.

No big deal. Just tell the Sno guys to start putting some daily pics up on the website

I wonder how this will effect the Chateau's buiness?

All these updates are awesome. Congrats on the jobs guys. If you guys are going up there a few more times try to snap some pics of the snowmaking operation. I'm sure everyone here would like to see that.
