  1. If they do wind up changing the parking lot situation I think this just means that the end of year party needs to be bigger and better than we could even imagine just in case it's the last one.
  2. I respectfully disagree. Glad you guys are off to a great start on the trip. Looking forward to the report!!
  3. Even Camelback gives free parking for season passholders. I understand the desire to not leave money on the table but I feel like this is kind of teetering on the edge of worth leaving it on the table to impart some goodwill. Whether or not they mean to, the best thing Blue is doing is creating communities. Whether it's PASR, or the many other crews in the parking lot or the freestyle team, or the cross team or even the racers they either let these groups form or actively form them so that people make it a habit to come to their facility, buy passes and maybe some food. I'm not exactly frequenting many other PA mountains but I really doubt that this kind of thing exists on the large scale it does at Blue at other places. Not every store needs to be a Walmart and not every mountain needs to be a Vail resort.
  4. I love how this seems to be as much a food trip as it is a ski trip at this point. I'll be landing in Philly at 1am the day this is planned for so I'm likely out but maybe just maybe if there's the right blend of plane sleep and red bull I might make it.
  5. I have an uncle who was a ski instructor in the 80s and was a total ski bum/partier for a while. He moved to the beach for the next 30 years but recently took a job up in St Albans, VT and moved up there. We were talking at Christmas and he was excited to get up there and said he would probably get back into skiing. "I hear the skis are shaped now", but he was oddly adamant that he wouldn't be one of those "losers wearing a helmet". I told him that 99.5% of people out there wear helmets and it's kind of insane not to at this point but he was unfazed. Thankfully he works at a hospital so one would assume when he crashes at Smugglers Notch he will have top notch care.
  6. Would this be a typical PASR situation where we are there from 9am to 11 and then its over?
  7. So I was up that way after Blue on Saturday. Rolled in absolutely frozen and mom had some piggy soup ready to go to warm the soul. That might want out for some food to Leggios in plains and also ordered gnocchi with vodka sauce, along with a white pizza topped with fresh ricotta and tortellini with Alfredo sauce.
  8. They might have left some ice in the lot but they aren't leaving money on the table today. Chilly but good snow. Looking forward to another bluebird day tomorrow
  9. I saw that email. Also had no idea they had 47 snow tubing lanes. That sounds like a lot and this is officially the year I go over and try it out one time.
  10. Blue builds some really nice parks, though they make my shoulder hurt just looking at them.
  11. Saturday and Sunday this weekend
  12. Traffic on 202 this morning was terrible. 100% rain though
  13. Deadhead Bob told me, with great certainty, that the fantasy lift is actually a funicular.
  14. Epic might be the way to go next year. If all the bad publicity this year pushes people onto Ikon the crowds will just shift and maybe Vail resorts will be a little more mild.
  15. There was a car that went sideways on the ramp ahead of me coming home. Backed things up pretty good. There were some guys trying to push it and from the little distance I could see it looked like they were flailing around like some high school kids who were too scared to call their dads for help. As I got closer it was a bunch of grown men in designer clothes trying to get their Porche to move, so I just drove around them.
  16. Is it good base building snow? It's all gone down here. I'm hoping this stuff will just compact and then the next snowfall will be skiable.
  17. Looks like it all went to rain overnight in the KOP area and washed everything away except for a few slushy spots. On my drive it started to switch back to snow as I drove through MALVERN and was almost all snow when I got to Exton. The clouds are so dark too. Looks like the sun never even came up.
  18. Can we get a TR of what happened that was so intense that it kept the great @GrilledSteezeSandwich away from Blue?
  19. Valid. And the call out was done out of love ❤️❤️
  20. So if one wanted to ski Sunday morning still watch the Eagles at 1 and not pull a Toast and leave by 8:43am, what's a good sports bar in the Lehigh valley/Palmerton area to hang at?
  21. That's what he said and I don't have any reason not to believe him.
  22. Last night was pretty solid. One of my few night sessions but RAW is where it's at. Temps were super comfortable, the lines looked bad but went really fast and the snow was pretty great. Only got Coming Soon once but i was the only one on it at the time and really got to noodle around and enjoy it. Sat at a fire pit at the end of the night for a few minutes and it was actually lovely. Nice to look up at the mountain all lit up and those string lights and fire pits change the ambiance of the bottom lodge a lot
  23. So Coming Soon, Main Street and Nightmare will all have bumps on them this year? Any that I missed?
  24. Just popped on Camelback's website for the first time in a while. I guess they have just given up at this point and realized they peaked in the early 2000s.
