I wonder what they need $150,000 for right now.

I prefer Dollar Tree, not only is everything actually $1 but I just think the aesthetics of the store are nicer. Dollar Generals always seem to be disheveled and seemingly dirty. The one near me in Philly was really convenient but I always felt like I was annoying someone just by being in there.

How do I get help from the local Valley Housing Fund? I am decidedly in need of housing in Crested Butte.

Not saying it's right or wrong but just devil's advocate again. Kids under 12 have an extremely slim ( I know it's non zero) chance of having bad symptoms or needing medical care. I know no one wants to have sick kids but if you took it to an actuarial table kids are probably more negatively affected by falling down and/or off of things than by this virus. I do think we have a duty to do our best to get everyone all vaxxed up to protect the immunocompromised who can't get the shot.

Devil's advocate: Let it go sideways as long as it doesn't cause the hospitals to overflow again. At this point people are actively choosing to not protect themselves and that's entirely on them.

Are most of you guys Epic this year? I'm on the fence about getting it, not sure how many trips I'll be able to go on

AC guy came last week. He replaced a capacitor and then I had to take off and get back to work so I'm not sure what else was fixed. It's been running great ever since and i've got a set it and forget it mindset for the thermostat.

I hope there's a whole trip report. I've always wanted to check this place out.

Just like the lady @NMSKI made out with.

I don't know why but I'm envisioning this whole thing going down at a bowling alley with a lady that hung out there regularly and bummed a pack a day.

Soft pretzels and bratwurst sold at the bottom of Main Street out of the already German looking building. Make you queue up next to those smells for the chair.
-
When is that btw? I want to come up and try out the LV trails.

The mud was the main concern. Don't really want to float in a mess.
-
Hoping to float the Schuylkill this weekend, rain today and tomorrow might take that off the table. We will have to see.

Even if you're not home for 12-14 hours? It's still running at home btw. A nice comfortable 74.

An hour to go from a jet to a robot? This sounds like an incredibly intricate toy. Was it just folding it the right way or were there tools involved?

Hahaha. You're the best. If the unit was anything like that I could have figured something out last night. It's a very strange looking air conditioner. Rectangular box hanging on a wall outside in a closet with the furnace. Kind of has a tankless hot water heater vibe to it. Without taking it apart, which sounds like a lot of work for me to not fix it anyway I have no idea what's going on. Should I give another update on the temperature when I get home?

Define running? It was blowing air, just not cold air.

Update on the Broken AC Saga. I got home around 8:30 last night and the thermostat was reading 91. I went outside to check on the AC unit but I don't really know much about them and it was a different looking one that I've ever seen so that was kind of a waste. I opened the sliding glass doors and windows and used ceiling fans and box fans to blow the cooler air from the storm inside. This quickly dropped the temp to 84. I went to bed with it reading 82 and woke up with it at an even 80. Tuesday can't come fast enough at this point.

"Maple Leaflandia" sounds lovely.

It worked really well last week and the week before when I would turn it on. Even when I turned it back on after having it off for a day it was pretty good but just couldn't keep up. I'm up on the third floor of a building so that's not helping things either. I turned it completely off last night around 5 with the thought that I didn't want to just run an already depleted system into the ground. I didn't even have time to go outside and check on the unit itself. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones though and I spend from 7:30am until 9:30pm out of the house most days so I don't have to sit in there.

Update: I let the AC run all night last night and all day today. When I came home it was blowing barely chilled air and the thermostat read 89. HVAC guy is scheduled for next week. Really looking forward to the cool off coming this weekend.

It's only in the 90s haha. Hot for sure but not the worst yet.
