  1. Don't jinx it. We've got good food pictures and for the first time in like 3 trip reports a decent number of pictures.
  2. People are disgusting. Also they should probably replace that carpet.
  3. I love that place. Great for stargazing and I've camped there a few times
  4. Not quite finished with it but this is a great talk. Thanks for sharing it @abe! I think his business philosophy is grate. I will definitely keep this guy in mind and his Philadelphia based firm to possibly reach out to for a potential school project.
  5. Had another Covid test this morning. Getting pretty routine at this point. I am really hoping I don't have to do another one next week. I predict that it comes back negative.
  6. I'll give Wolf credit for the whole color coded reopening plan, that was a good idea but poorly executed. The rest of the overreach isn't cool though.
  7. A month after the vaccine is available to everyone in the country we should be back to normalcy. I don't expect that but once everyone has the ability to get the vaccine it's a conscious choice to not get it and therefore probably eventually get Covid. At that point it goes from an uncontrollable pandemic to a risk taken by an individual and the "numbers going up" should not be an indication of anything more than people choosing to not get vaccinated.
  8. Got my second shot of Moderna on Saturday at 11 am. I was fine for most of Saturday though later that night it felt like my arm got punched. I woke up Sunday morning and my arm felt like I got hit by a 90 mph fastball and I was achy and it was rough getting out of bed at around 7am. I went to Church and after getting home and doing a few things around the house to get ready for Easter I felt awful. Went back up to bed and slept from 10 until 2. Sore joints, terrible pain in my arm and general achiness. Felt good enough to get dressed into some relatively comfy clothes and socialize for Easter for a while. By 8pm I was tired but a lot of the pain was gone. Today I feel pretty much back to normal.
  9. PASR is probably a bad group to talk about side effects. No one is sure if the way they felt after the shot was from the shot or from all the activities we do immediately before or after getting it. For me I don't know if I was fatigued or just needed a post skiing nap.
  10. So you're saying it's like Pennsylvania?
  11. https://whyy.org/articles/kensington-residents-share-concerns-about-somerset-station-closure-with-septa/ During the meeting, Kate O’Connor, SEPTA’s chief engineering officer of bridges and buildings, said the closure is for necessary repairs to elevators damaged by urine and needles.
  12. You guys should do lunch sometime
  13. Great move but the two downsides I've run into is that the train runs out of Lansdale only once an hour and the last train out of center city is around 11pm which means if you do a baseball game or some other event down in South Philly, or you're going out for a night on the town you really need to plan your whole trip around getting back in time to catch that train. Plus if you've got more than 2 people with you it is actually cheaper to just drive and pay to park.
  14. You're playing with fire in that airport
  15. Does it though? As much as it would be nice at the end of the day people don't ride trains and they just hemorrhage money. SEPTA regional rail ridership is down 90% since the pandemic started and they are looking at somewhere in the realm of 3 years to gain significant ridership back and realistically they won't see pre pandemic numbers for at least a decade. In the face of those kind of numbers I can't imagine anyone in charge at a regional rail network or Amtrak thinking it's a good idea to try to build more track right now.
  16. We didn't make it too far, but that's where @skiincy and I went touring in January. I would love to go back and make it all the way from Deer Valley to Brighton.
  17. Plans and projections are grate but the harsh reality of trains being equal parts expensive and slow coupled with (pun intended) the fact that America is just insanely big where trains can easily go and insanely developed and containing complex terrain where trains should go means that the future of Amtrak or any major national rail service is going to be a talking point every 5 years and nothing more. For leisure travel no one frankly has the time to waste 4-6 days of their vacation getting to the destination when they know for a fact they can get clear across the country in half a day at best on a plane.
  18. If they have a reasonable amount of trails open and a reasonable ticket price this might not be a terrible idea for this weekend. The pouring rain is making me think that at least one of those criteria won't be met though.
  19. I guess you're right. Looks like it's about a mile up.
  20. I just imagine at least 3/4 of the fathers who wind up taking their families to these timeshares saying/yelling this at least once per overpriced trip to the Poconos....
  21. I would like to do this but without an AT rig I can't imagine I would get many laps in at all on foot.
  22. and you're 100% not getting a pass. Take it to the individual ticket thread.
  23. The pass vs pass debate is getting spicy!
  24. Which lifts/ areas have you been skiing? I really liked Solitude when i was there but the snow just wasn't good in January. Also you can see it in your picture how the summit chair goes way down and then back up through a little gulley and I did not like that feeling at all.
  25. Miss all you guys already. This winter is going to be extremely memorable for everyone in the world and we are lucky enough to have positive things to reflect on. Cheers to another fantastic year at Blue Mountain and many more to come!
