My aunt made a wrong turn and wound up at the top of Falls on Saturday and used the little crossover to get back to lower sidewinder

All of these complaints towards Camelback are valid but they aren't in the business of being the mountain for people like us. If I were a casual skier with a family from the New York/New Jersey area I would find a huge list of grievance with Blue. Not enough green circle terrain, no infrastructure, no lodging, no outside of skiing attractions, a bare bones lower lodge, not enough snow tubing, the list could go on and on. For people like this Camelback is perfect. It's like a Six Flags in the winter and people who value safety and security probably really like the fact that someone tells them where to park and there are people controlling skiers speed and seemingly reckless behavior. The extremely unique thing about where we live is that the Poconos have so many mountains close together it's like picking a restaurant. Not every place fits every person but you can definitely find your fit.

My only real complaint about Camelback is that it's at least 70% runout. Can't blame anyone on that though, just the mountain itself.

Epic's "big announcement" from today was postponed....

Oh I'm sure they are going to be upset, but at the same time they would have to be paid out for anything that they had saved up. I think things will remain fairly status quo regardless of what this new company wants to do. Palmerton has got to be a constrained labor market so it's got to be difficult to replace anyone and they will find out quick if they try to lowball the people that do work there and if they walk away it will be difficult trying to backfill them if they offer too little.

The firing and rehiring is likely so that any kind of benefits or PTO or other owed accruals for the employees are wiped off of the books and the new holding company can start completely fresh. I would imagine the less fun things to talk about like restructuring the debt on snowcats or other stuff like that is also happening so that the new company is coming in with the kind of books and balance sheet that they want.

I heard he scoured the entire eastern side of Pennsylvania going from one Dunkin' to another until the infamous Rajeev was found.

After I got home last night I realized I had homework due (thought it was due Monday night) so I promptly sat down and cranked out some accounting until 11:30. Needless to say I'm extremely tired today. Also is being meat drunk a thing? I honestly think the food hit me harder than the booze did.

I can't imagine there is any kind of protection in the waiver for catastrophic failure of a chairlift. You assume some risks when at a ski resort but that is absolutely not one of them.

I'm sure WNEP has a pierogi sale that they need to report on which is tying up their investigative resources at the moment.

I was thinking the same thing. This is an extremely newsworthy story. How did no one send a reporter out there yet?

To me this whole thing sounds a lot more like a financing deal than an operations one.

What a day yesterday. That's what it's all about. Absolutely everything was perfect yesterday. PASR party day is easily one of my top 5 days of the entire year, including Christmas.

Longest day ever at Blue. Didn't get home until after 6pm 1. Teaching your mom to ski is not the most fun thing when you have no idea how to ski yourself but @skiincy popped over to the learning hill and saved the day a little bit. 2. Had no idea the restaurant at the top had such good food. Just assumed it was good for a ski resort but I was pleasantly surprised. 3. Razors was grate 4. Might have gotten a little sunburned

If any of the other parties are an indication the meat comas and beer buzzes won't wear off enough to drive home until at least 3pm

I noticed that 2 of the 3 covers feature articles about pizza.....

What can I bring on Sunday? I'm going beer shopping tomorrow. Anything else? Is the karaoke machine ready to go?

I just typed in the information for the person that I used my pass for and then I got an email with the barcode. Doesn't seem to matter who's name you type in I guess. Also I'm pretty bummed if we don't go past Easter. The base is strong (at least pre rain) and they could go at least 3 more weeks.

Speaking of ticket buyers. My aunt has claimed my buddy pass for this Saturday and now my Mom wants to tag along. She skied once in the 70s but that was it. Does anyone have a buddy pass that they know they aren't using and that isn't already earmarked for another PASR? Will trade beer of your choice for a pass.

They have the Sixer listed as open on the conditions report

Safe to say the six is still down? Did it look like they were working on it?
