I just noticed something. People are complaining about how this pandemic has become politicized, yet in the corner of the new regulations it's stamped with the seal of a political party. We would be much better served if stuff like this wasn't labeled one way or the other.

I'm thinking they won't have restrictions on people outside, but they will count the number of people in and out of lodges somehow and cap it at a certain number. I'm guessing entrances and exits will be blocked off and not exactly how we are used to them.

Would a ski resort even have a max occupancy defined in outdoor areas? I would imagine that would only apply for the lodges and other buildings.

Or, and hear me out here, regardless of who is in the White House it will not go away for years and years anyway. It's not like there is any country in the world, besides the small ones who completely shut down borders and did not have a ton of travel in and out anyway are doing much better. Is it still spreading? Of course it is and it will never stop spreading unless we shut down, which is wildly unpopular and also irresponsible. Is it killing people? Yes of course it is and it will continue to do so but there is no doubt that the deaths have slowed and will never get to zero. OK so the US has a large number dead in proportion to other countries. We also have a much greater proportion of unhealthy people compared to the rest of the world. Everyone wants this black and white "Leadership" from someone on this. What are you looking for? A president that somehow has more power than anyone before him? The complex cogs and gears of society to somehow perfectly line up so we can ram a solution through it? No one to need money for a few years so we can push pause on capitalism? I'm getting really tired of people yelling at the clouds for raining. We need to figure out how to put our raincoats on and keep on living because this weather isn't going to change for a long time.

I bet there is a way to make a coupon book worth while, though it would probably take more planning than I would be willing to do.

Remember in the beginning of the pandemic when people were patronizing local restaurants and shops and spending more money than they ordinarily would have for food or dropping big tips for haircuts or other services? Just use that logic with Blue and be happy that you're still getting the best deal in the state or a season pass.

Being agile is key for any business, especially during a pandemic. Moves like this, even if they are just rumors and don't come true, mean that Blue is looking to do what is best for them in the short and long terms and what is good for Blue is ultimately good for us. Plus it's Sausage Sunday, not Sausage Wednesday Night.

A lack of school groups will definitely hurt the mountains. I feel bad for the kids who don't have any trips to go on too.

Some thoughts on Covid 19 at this stage. I got an email yesterday afternoon from the school president Dear Members of the Villanova Community, We all felt it. The sense of relief that several days of zero positive cases provide. Unfortunately, it also seems to have provided a false sense of confidence for some in our community. The sense that we are in the clear and that we could let down our guard. As our numbers this week have shown, that couldn’t be further from the truth. While we are well prepared to handle these cases*, we need to see these numbers stabilize. We are not in the clear. We cannot let up. We must continue, or in some cases, recommit to, putting Community First at all times. If everyone does their part, I am confident we can finish out this semester safely on campus. The goal of the school is to continue to have in person classes and this is their means to that end. It's a good goal for both the university as well as the students. That being said, what is the end game? This isn't me being "tired of the restrictions" or "annoyed at wearing a mask". It's a genuine question that no one seems willing to even address. There were a few days with 0 cases and then all of a sudden there were reported ones on campus. Does anyone honestly think that the number could have stayed at 0? This disease is not going away for decades at best. Will a handful of cases inside different organizations be cause for alarm until 2030? There is absolutely no doubt that this is a terrible disease that has the capability to seriously injure or kill, but we have to be smart about the fact that in most cases it does neither. The kids at 'Nova who are positive for Covid-19 are likely feeling ill in their isolation but will be OK in a few weeks and will resume class in person with the rest of their friends. I also understand the argument that professors are typically in a higher risk category and I understand that but they are going to be at risk for years. So what is the long term goal then? Back to normal when cases are below a certain threshold? Back to normal when cases are 0? I don't particularly care what that number is, but we need to agree on long term goals. It seems to me that the goal post was constantly shifting in the beginning of this pandemic and slowly it was disassembled and moved out of the stadium.

It's Covid Related. Though the real concern at Bear Creek is that you'll catch a nasty case of the Macungies.

Everyone glossed over the 377 new snow guns. I wonder if those are in addition to, or replacing old ones.

I just checked the CB website and couldn't find anything about a new lift or an upgrade to an existing one. I would guess they are replacing parts in one of the existing HSQs?

Looks like all the train rides out of Steamtown are on pause until 9/30 and decisions about fall foliage and holiday excursions will be made at a later date. It would probably be quite nice to see the trees and colors from a steam train.

I'm seeing an issue right off the bat. Bluetooth has a surprisingly long range sometimes. People stuck in traffic will ping off of each other when they are all in their own vehicles. I just read the FAQ page on the PA covid app website and yes, if you get a positive test you need to enter it into the app yourself. The app then looks back at the last 14 days of pings it has saved and sends a notification everyone who you were in bluetooth proximity to. Big picture, possible privacy concern long term, but sounds like a pretty good plan to help at this point.

Data backlog? Philly had triple digits, unless that's from colleges doing tons of testing.

I'm going to guess these 49 new guns have been in the works for a while, you can't just run down to home depot and pick up one of these things. That being said, I'm surprised they aren't factoring these new snow guns into an opening plan that would get the mountain open top to bottom ASAP to deal with spacing of crowds.
