It would have to be if they limit ticket sales. No way you'll see a lift line all the way back to the bottom lodge doors this year.

On The Lifts 6 ft distancing must be maintained between cohort groups. Skiers and riders will be required to wear masks and gloves while in lift lines and while riding the lift. Is PASR a registered cohort group?

I would love to see their data.

I'm sure you guys have seen this on the news by now. Made the national news too. https://6abc.com/health/villanova-warns-students-after-video-shows-large-gathering-on-campus-/6371063/ Kids will be kids, and in an effort to keep the ship sailing, at least somewhat, 'Nova has instituted a mini bubble for the Business School and other Graduate schools. Grad students won't be on campus this fall but will have live classes at either a center city location or at a hotel/conference center in King of Prussia that they've rented out. This idea is honestly a 10/10 and gives the absolute best shot at these programs getting an entire semester in with the benefit of being with classmates and professors.

That's a great idea, until day 4 when all the toilets are irreparably clogged....

Those temps are a lititle @toast21602-y Glad it's relatively cool up here.

The way it stands now the rural counties are out of it.

Encourages carpooling. Anyone want to carpool with me?
-
It means they think they can afford a more expensive home

This would definitely discourage me from being a passholder there. If passholders don't get free parking the daily fee would wind up costing more than the pass itself if you were a diehard.

Seriously? The rain was here and gone in a matter of minutes. How flood prone is this area???

Fantastic point. Mountains doing timed tubing sessions to limit the number of people at any given time will make people feel safe about doing it too. Could be even more of a cash cow for the mountains. If teens can't go to the movies or bowling or whatever it is the youth are doing with their weekends now they can go to cosmic snowtubing at Camelback.

Who's the lucky lady? Does she ski?

Sat inside last weekend when I was up at Lake Wallenpuapack.(was hoping for an outside seat but the wait was very long already) First time in a restaurant in months. Only a handful of tables, no one sitting near me. Only person even remotely close was the masked up server who was quite nice. Never once felt nervous or unsafe.

Once the weather turns and movie theaters and the like still aren't open and there isn't any football to watch on Saturday (except for a game or two that the NFL will slip in there) and the kids don't have basketball to go to, the minivan will get loaded up on Saturday and a group of people who would have never skied in their lives will descend upon the ski resorts of Pennsylvania.
-
Just go to quieter ski areas. See you at Montage

One potential move could be to make the season passholder lanes at the quad and 6 pack be the only gates that we can use. Keep passholders away from the general public, maybe put up more robust ropes to keep us to the side or something like that.

Do you think what they did in New Zealand would have worked here? As soon as this whole thing started they completely locked down the border and essentially never let the disease in.

This right here is why the concept of a one size fits all approach to this is not a grate idea. Also, the real losers at Penn State from no fans at football games are all of the other student athletes. Football supports every other sport at the school. It will be so weird for the players in college football to play in empty stadiums. The cavernous expanses of Beaver Stadium, Michigan Stadium and Ohio Stadium will be almost creepy without fans filling them up.

I think the governor can recommend things about school but it's ultimately up to the individual school districts, which makes sense to me. A high school in Elk County can probably go back just like normal, whereas one in Philly cannot.

If it's cold enough, you should be able to see people's breath and avoid it.

Masks required indoors. Reduced lodge capacity. Fewer tables. Fewer if any seats at the bars. Emphasis on the patio area at the upper lodge, more tables outside at the lower lodge. Someone will write up a long list of rules and regulations that the touristy folks who come on Presidents Day won't pay attention to. Stickers on the floors inside. Paper signs on the doors. One laminated sign at each lift loading area. Parking Lot will have more pee in it since most won't want to go inside, probably less passing of cans of beer. Perhaps a timed ticketing system for Sausage Sunday meat access or a full blown BYO Meat system.

Kelly Drive is still closed as is a big stretch of Lincoln Drive. I was going to go for a run down by the art museum last night but the number of road closures turned that into a nearly 30 minute drive so I scrapped it. As per the radio this morning some places on main street in Manayunk saw some water but I didn't go down there at all. Some Schuylkill data below:
