  1. Stats with more Context So in the US we are spreading it more than other countries, but we are doing a pretty good job at keeping people that get it alive. The percentage of deaths in Italy is kind of scary, though realistically it is their older population but still.
  2. I was in center city on wednesday for a run and walked around a little bit. Didn't look like there was that much still damaged/closed, at least where I was.
  3. I think people get it, but I also I think they are taking a calculated risk at this point, especially seeing that the death rate is actually lower than we thought and that low risk populations probably don't have to worry too much about it. I think what's really getting incredibly lost in all of this is the fact that we know one sure fire way to deal with this disease; be fit and healthy.
  4. Does this mean it will roll through to completion sooner or does it mean an inevitable and possibly avoidable third wave?
  5. What if we just put the PASR logo on a car for a race?
  6. Somewhat off topic here, but I just googled Bubba Wallace, who is not the alter ego of a left handed pink driver wielding golfer, and the first page of Google had his race results for the past few times he's been out on the track. These included: Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 500 Folds of Honor Quiktrip 500 Food City 500 Alsco Uniforms 500 Coca-Cola 600 Now all I can wonder is how much the naming rights cost for a Nascar race. With the exception of Coca-Cola, which probably sneezed and the money for this sponsorship fell out, I can't imagine these smaller and seemingly obscure companies have huge sums of cash to just toss out there. Is it relatively cheap to sponsor a race? If so, will there be a Blue Mountain 400? Perhaps a PASR 500? Let the fundraising begin if that's the case
  7. Did you see that one proclamation in a California county where you could have a social gathering of 15 people, but a protest of up to 100? It's really easy to see how the general public is getting sick of this stuff, and can start to get conspiratorial when the rules are so blatantly made up and not rooted in science.
  8. None of this has a legal basis if it was challenged in the higher courts.......
  9. And if you don't know, now ya........ still don't know apparently.
  10. But if the virus transmits much less easily through an asymptomatic population wouldn't there be less to take seriously? As long as people weren't hiding their symptoms and engaging with others this would mean that there is much less to worry about than we had feared a week or so ago when "anyone could be a carrier".
  11. What do you guys think of the new news that it is considered rare for asymptomatic people to transmit the virus?
  12. Good old population density and demographics. For as connected we are and we are so tuned into National issues it's kind of easy to forget that we are essentially 50 different countries all tied together under one system. Of course there are similarities across the nation, but it's absolutely insane that we have as many different regions, climates, terrain, people, cultures and resources as we do.
  13. What kind did you get?
  14. I was at the dentist a little over a month ago, the main differences I saw were that they were just extremely limited in terms of operations. They checked my temperature and everyone was wearing masks. I was the only patient in the building at the time as they were only bringing one dentist in per day to take care of emergency patients. Nothing extremely out of the ordinary though once I got back in the chair. Dentist and assistant were wearing the same mask they wear every time they work on someone, and of course gloves, etc.
  15. It'll be damn near impossible to go backwards, i.e. back from Yellow to Red or Green to Yellow.
  16. We're going to be green in no time
  17. I see NS trains more often than any others around here. They really kill the PA market. When is the PASR trip to Steamtown?
  18. How can you tell when the power comes on? Is it just that the sound of the generator goes away? How loud is a whole house generator?
  19. It will certainly be interesting. Most of the people protesting, and in that picture above, seem to be relatively young. This group might not present symptoms or have mild ones that never get diagnosed.
  20. I got really lucky and the power never went out. A lot of streets had huge trees down on them around me and were closed. The fire department has been out non stop since last night cutting up fallen trees.
  21. Just thought of something. American Dream, which I cannot imagine was doing particularly well financially before this pandemic has been shuttered for months and is part of a boondoggle of a mall that has struggled in all forms for a decade or more. Could it be shuttered permanently?
  22. We are definitely going to learn something about how transmissible this is outdoors.
  23. This is exceptionally pleasant
  24. Definitely a great test to the whole system. Let's see how it plays out
  25. You've thought a lot about how to loot a store I can see haha. Back to the topic though, anyone seen any good trains lately? I feel like I see the same ones over and over on the bridges across the Schuylkill.
