  1. There's probably a lot of truth to this. I know personally I used to shop at a few different places for different things, but I find myself just going to one place, getting what I need and calling it a day.
  2. Oddly enough I don't wear hats that much in the real world, but it seems weird to not wear one in the parking lot for some reason, or it's cold, so I always bring one.
  3. How's everyone's hair doing? Any good recent at home cuts? I'm officially past the point of no return and I'll be waiting for barbershops and just growing this thing out.
  4. They will tack on 2 weeks to that.
  5. Thankfully I don't really generate much garbage or recycling. I think this week is my recycling week.
  6. It's only recycling if there is a market for it. Unfortunately in certain situations the recyclables get tossed in a landfill because it's either much more expensive to recycle it or there is no recycling capacity at the time. I met a guy who worked for one of the big trash firms and I was shocked to learn that.
  7. There has to be an underlying market for recyclables too. If no one wants to take it down the line that might be another reason they are hesitant to take them.
  8. I had no idea that the LVRR had such a reach!
  9. Starbucks and Taco Bell lines are out of control. Can't people just make coffee and tacos at home?
  10. This would be useful, but I guess one monolithic number does the trick too. It's not like we would be better served having nuanced information and then be able to focus attention and resources to the people that need it most though. It's day like today that make me really dejected about this whole thing. So the governor kicked the can down the road until early June now. He will kick it again when the time comes. The sad truth of the matter is that this is way out of anyone's hands right now and no matter how many numbers you crunch or how much context you try to add it's not particularly meaningful. I think it's safe to say that we flattened the curve, which is awesome. Now what though? Safe to go back to business as usual? Probably not. Good idea to quarantine at home indefinitely? probably not. What's the middle ground? The philosophical question I'm currently grappling with is this. When is it OK to go see mom?
  11. Super Rough work here but from the numbers you get if you google "New Covid Cases in Pennsylvania" here's a tiny bit of overall perspective. For Reference I used the 2019 Census estimate of 12,801,989 people living in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Covid Cases Date New Cases As % of Population 15-Apr-20 1,145 0.0089% 16-Apr-20 1,245 0.0097% 17-Apr-20 1,706 0.0133% 18-Apr-20 1,628 0.0127% 19-Apr-20 1,215 0.0095% 20-Apr-20 948 0.0074% 21-Apr-20 1,296 0.0101% 22-Apr-20 1,156 0.0090% 23-Apr-20 1,385 0.0108% 24-Apr-20 1,583 0.0124% 25-Apr-20 1,397 0.0109% 26-Apr-20 1,116 0.0087% 27-Apr-20 885 0.0069% 28-Apr-20 1,214 0.0095% 29-Apr-20 1,102 0.0086% 30-Apr-20 1,397 0.0109% 1-May-20 1,208 0.0094% 2-May-20 1,334 0.0104% 3-May-20 962 0.0075% 4-May-20 825 0.0064% 5-May-20 865 0.0068% 6-May-20 888 0.0069% 7-May-20 1,070 0.0084% Total Cases 52,915 0.4133%
  12. Then it'll be June 18th
  13. Only 29 weeks until opening day at Mont Bleu
  14. I hate to say it but I get weirded out every time I see these graphs and such. What's the data integrity looking like? Where is the data coming from? Is it scrubbed at all? Are we blending multiple sources? If so what is the common key? A good analyst can make anything look like anything (within reason), Who's doing the analysis? **Data are preliminary and subject to change ^^^^ It says right in the bottom right that this whole thing is meaningless.
  15. Nope. Still doing the rowhome thing in Philly
  16. So this is what my life is now. Watching videos of grass cutting and not begin mad about it. Also my astroturf back yard is getting messy, I should probably do a before and after when I go out and sweep it off.
  17. You know what's super awesome about this whole pandemic thing? Millions of people chit chatting about it who have no medical knowledge in addition to no way of actually solving the problem. I'm willing to bet there are around twenty thousand or fewer people alive right now who can actually make a difference in terms of figuring this pathogen and disease out and developing an active medical mitigation. I bet when they have an answer they will tell us.
  18. i mean why don't you think there will be a vaccine.
  19. All of them. People shouldn't be traveling.
  20. For that top row I would like to see the breakout of Chicago, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Baltimore, Indianapolis.
  21. I know, cities are in a different category. Rural counties and smaller municipalities are completely different. If I were to rank places where we focus attention it would be as such: Nursing Homes>Major US Cities with High Density>Major US Metro Areas>Big Cities with Less Density>Big Metro Areas>Dense Counties>Low Density Rural Towns (hubs for the surrounding countryside)> Rural Counties with no major population centers We are already limiting travel and that would need to keep up so that areas at the end of that list don't get people from the front of the list going there and spreading the virus. Summit County is probably fairly OK but it won't be for long if we all scoot out there to play skis.
  22. How "Nailed" Can a place with a low population density really get?
  23. Traffic is getting heavier and heavier each day. Still moving pretty well but the volume is way up.
  24. is security/encryption still BlackBerry's claim to fame? That's pretty much the last I heard of the brand.
