If only there was some sort of way to drink beer with your friends but not even leave your own home.... Someone better invent that quick.

State college is in the slowly opening zone. My cousin is still there finishing out his senior year at Penn State quarantined in his apartment.
-
I wonder how many people will flock to North Central PA on weekends.
-
Not to be too tinfoiley, but people in China were forced to listen. While forcing people to quarantine here might seem like a good idea it's the kind of thing that you probably shouldn't give the government the power to do.

I tried multiple times to buy it using chrome and the payment wouldn't go through. Used a different credit card and it worked fine. Annoying

I was about to buy mine this afternoon but realized the card I want to put it on is at home. Guess I have a project tonight

Might be my favorite town ever.

If any of you guys enjoy baseball even a little I would absolutely suggest going up to Cooperstown for the induction. Those weekends were legitimately the best of my childhood hands down.
-
They cancelled the Baseball Hall of Fame induction ceremony this year. I was going to go for the first time in 10 years to see Derek Jeter get inducted. Probably the right call though, this realistically would have been the largest in history. The largest ceremony when Tony Gwynn and Cal Ripkin Jr. went in was around 82,000 people and I remember that one being absolutely crazy. There is no doubt in my mind though that Jeter would crack 100,000 people showing up to that soccer field in the tiny village.

I'm liking the longer hair on top thing, but the sides are officially out of control. When I finally get back to a barber shop no matter how big of a tip I leave it won't be enough for their hard work on my insane hair.

Makes perfect sense. Thank your dad for the info!

Cheaper to fly these guys now than at any other time. I would hope that more mechanical training happens in the next few months than ever before when the military can burn cheap fuel instead of expensive fuel.

I'm going to start lining up in 2021 for the rope drop

Without that cash flow we won't ever get a chance to experience the sweet turns of "Coming Soon"

I need to get mine at some point today when I get a chance. Only 7 months until we can use these passes

I tried to prove a day of the week correlation to rates charged by trucking companies on specific travel lanes. That's 80 hours of data work that I'm never getting back. P.S. Couldn't find a strong enough correlation to turn it into a project.

That's an awesome bread box

Do store brand ones work too? Or just Lysol brand?

Looks like some pretty major construction going on at the lodge there

A-Basin has said they would reopen if possible.

I think this conversation brings up something that I've been thinking about since day 1. We are right in the middle of this whole thing and it's absolutely crazy so I'm very glad we are taking measures to stop the spread. That being said, the severity, the spread, the death rate, the number of people infected, the locations being affected, and literally every other stat, fact, figure and measure that we are talking about has to be looked at with a wide angle lens. Number of people with Covid are most likely lower than reported because we aren't testing everyone and people are staying home and riding it out. Deaths are probably under-reported because some people die outside hospitals. False positives are a problem, lack of testing is a problem, lack of specific data on patients is a problem, i.e. age, race, health, etc. I don't think anyone can make an accurate prediction as to what will happen or what we should do next with the way that we are currently gathering data.

I just read Philadelphia's! Really interesting stuff. Turns out I'm drinking water from the Schuylkill river!

I wonder what the break even occupancy is for one of the big Vegas hotels. If no one can fly into Vegas the only realistic market is LA and I kind of doubt that enough people will go even if things open up. It would be like Blue Mountain on a Wednesday morning in late March. Yeah we are open but we are spending more to unlock the doors that we would be pulling in.

I"m going into the office every day, but we have temperature checks at the entrances (IT built a pretty cool no-touch rig actually that tracks your temp day by day since you use your ID badge to scan into the system) and they provide a mandatory mask every day. It's actually pretty low contact once I'm in the building though and I rarely get within 20 feet of anyone else. We've also hired two people who's sole job is to go around the entire facility and constantly wipe down any door handles, flat surfaces, or shared things (like copiers) with disinfectant.
