Question: How does the water hold up in the barrel? Does anything seem to grow in it or does it stay clear?

Junebugs are pretty easy to avoid, just stick to the bars where they can't go. I say ocean city but I'm really staying in the lovely and quiet Fenwick area along the bay so unless I really go seeking out the fresh out of high schoolers, which I will admit at one point I was one, I doubt I'll really have too many encounters. The only issue is that my traveling companion has a very strange obsession with Dippin' Dots, aka the ice cream of the future, so she's made a formal request to get down to the boards to get a cup of frozen pellets. I'll have a full trip report to let you guys know how it goes.

Out west I would definitely be on my snowboard. I'm feeling a lot more confident on the skis but I want to really be able to play around out there and explore and the comfort I would feel on a board would help with that.

Would Jackson Hole be a little too intense for a first Western Trip? Should I go for something in Utah or Colorado first?

Can I get in on a Western trip this year? I think it's finally time for me to get my ass out that way. Even if it doesn't work out that I can get on board with any of you guys, I might just do the solo skifari thing either out of Denver or SLC. The time to plan seems like it's now-ish.

It was legitimately cold when I ran the dog out at 5am today

Unfortunately I don't have a lab, well she kind of looked like a lab when I got her, but she turned out to be a chihuahua mix. Oddly enough she's self sufficient too. She just curls up on pillows and sleeps most of the day. Unfortunately I don't have a yard so I have to take her out all the time but she's pretty content to just chill when I've got her out on the tie out.

Meh, I'm just a nice guy. I never mind helping someone out by watching a dog. My dog is almost scarily inexpensive. She just finished a bag of dog food 2 days ago that I bought the first week of January. She's just a dog, acupuncture, or massages, or doggy daycare. Don't get me wrong, the dog is fantastic, but there is no way in hell I'm spending money on ridiculous things that people get their dogs nowadays.

I'm hoping the pool at my complex is fairly warm for this coming weekend. I wanted to head down to the beach, but I'm dog sitting instead so it'll just be a weekend of kicking back at the pool and perhaps enjoying some beverages in between dog walks.

Hmm. New ownership that doesn't know the ski industry well? Get ready for some random clear cutting, a name change and a sick moose mascot.

The lawns and courtyards at my place are on a pretty regular mowing schedule, the weekends, but it really sucks when the grass grows like crazy all week and you have to wait extra days to get it cut. I'm the kind of person that would cut my lawn 3 times a week if needed.

I've been to Pocono a few times to watch the ole Nascar. Tremendously boring. Upside is that you can bring a bunch of beers in. I didn't bring food the first time I want and just wound up drinking a 12 pack after tailgating. Needless to say I was incapable of doing much for the rest of the evening.

Good on Boulder for putting in the effort. That being said I'm 100% going skeet shooting instead of skiing on Saturday.

Turns out it's the same day as an annual skeet shoot I go to so not this year.

According to Boulder's website it will be the boulder park trail, lift serviced and cost $10. See you guys there. Guess I'll actually need some ice to keep the beer cold this time.
