I've never been in the glades at Blue. Is that one at the top of Lazy that they have been blowing into any good? I get the feeling it would just get scraped to an ice sheet in about an hour and be trash until they blow more on top.

It blows my mind how dumb people can be. Like the guy I was on the chair with, he kept talking about how he loves poaching trails like that. So when I said that he clearly knows that the snow sucks, he just kind of agreed with me for the sake of the conversation then kept going on about how he's a perpetual rope ducker. Whatever floats your boat man, you ski 6 times a year and clearly know everything there is to know about sliding down hills and the coolest and most Xtreme way to do it.

I didn't see anyone on it on Sunday, but I did ride the lift with a guy who expressed interest in going down it.

Steamtown in Scranton is going to reopen this week after being closed due to the government shutdown. You guys should stop there after Elk.

Unfortunately I'm leaning towards being out on this. Not sure I can swing the day off of work.

Today was awesome. The snow was fantastic, but switchback got a little slick by the end of the morning. Big thanks to @JFskiDan who hooked me up with some K2 shreditors to demo today. Those things skied like a dream and also for thanks for hanging with me for a bit since I know I'm not exactly fast and I was like a bull in a china shop in the lift line. I got all over the mountain today and skied everything this side of the main street chair except Nightmare, Razors and Challenge. Tomorrow I might venture to the other side of the main street chair to check out the activities of the Winter Carnival. Overall it was a kick ass day. Dan, just let me know if you want a 32 oz of : Meme Fatigue Hazy IPA Dry Hopped with Mosaic & Simcoe / 7.2%, or Schmoojee Peach Tart Cherry Heavily Fruited Sour Ale with Lactose / 7.0% as a down payment on the rental.

They do a college day that seems pretty cool, I think it's Wednesday and it's $30 and includes a rental.

It's definitely tough to justify a Montage trip now. Cheap tickets were awesome on weekends and nothing could beat $10 Tuesday. They still do run some deals but not nearly as many.

How would we feel about a friday? Spin it into a long weekend.

I want to go to Elk! Let's do the damn thing.

I'll be happy as long as no trails close between now and Thursday, then hopefully they get a chance to blow a lot of snow before the weekend.
